 The reduction of oil refineries in America jeopardises the quality of life for its citizens, as crude oil is essential for producing over 6,000 products and transportation fuels.

The US has not built a new refinery in recent decades due to environmental concerns, policy shifts and regulatory hurdles, with several old refineries shutting down, including planned closures in California.

Globally, the oil refining industry is expected to add new capacity, but this is mostly from China and India.

Earth has vast resources of crude oil and coal in the ground, Ronald Stein says. However, the more advanced developed economies are the least likely to allow any “dirty” emissions-generating plants to be sited, permitted or built in their backyards.

Mad Ed’s Net Zero plan is so expensive that the UK economy cannot survive it

 Because Ed Miliband refuses to produce an estimate of how much his Net Zero plan will cost, Gordon Hughes, former Professor of Economics at the University of Edinburgh, has had to produce his own cost estimates.

Writing for The Telegraph, Hughes said, “On average my calculations show that the Net Zero grid would be a remarkable £15 billion per year more expensive than our current one … It is clear that Net Zero is a voyage that the United Kingdom simply can’t afford to take. We will have to turn back if our economy is to survive.”

The UK government’s plan to achieve Net Zero, as outlined in the Clean Power 2030 document, is highly unlikely to become a reality on the proposed timescale due to the lack of access to the necessary capital and engineers to build the required generation plants and grid connections.

Ed Miliband, the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, has refused to produce a credible estimate of the costs of the Net Zero electricity system. He has also cancelled a system costing commissioned by his predecessor, Claire Coutinho. Frustrated by Miliband’s inadequacies, Hughes has had to do his own calculations to fill the gap. His calculations reveal the true expense of Miliband’s plan.

The plan will be extremely expensive, with Hughes’ calculations indicating that the Net Zero grid would cost approximately £15 billion per year more than the current grid, which translates to an extra £925 per year for every household, likely paid through higher electricity bills, potentially forcing consumers to reduce their energy consumption either voluntarily or through compulsion.

 Denmark has just passed the first tax in the world on animal belches and flatulence in a bid to protect the environment.

The tax has been under negotiation for several years and was just passed by the Danish parliament.

The measure, which will go into effect in 2030, will see farmers assessed a charge of 300 Danish kroner (roughly $43) for each ton of carbon dioxide equivalent produced by their operations. This tax will more than double within five years, hitting 750 kroner (or around $106 right now) by 2035.

However, farmers will receive a 60% rebate because the technology does not yet exist to get rid of flatulence completely. The rebates will go up for farmers who take steps like sending their pig’s manure to machines that can pipe the methane to the gas grid or use additives in cows that will reduce the methane in their burps. Of course, one has to wonder what chemicals that can change an animal’s body chemistry enough to reduce the methane in their burps could do to the health of the people who consume them.

The government’s green transition minister, Jeppe Bruus, said in a statement: "We will do what it takes to reach our climate goals. [It is a] huge, huge task that is now underway: to transform large parts of our land from agricultural production to forestry, to natural spaces, to ensure that we can bring life back to our coastlines."

Denmark has five times as many cows and pigs as it does people, and almost two thirds of the country’s land is used for farming. As a result, agriculture contributes more to pollution than any other industry, putting it in green politicians’ crosshairs.

Arla Foods, the biggest dairy cooperative in Europe, is in favor of the move. Although they don’t necessarily support a tax, they believe that the compromise is a reasonable solution to the environmental concerns associated with dairy farming.

The company’s CEO, Peder Tuborgh, said: “They understand they need to do it; they want to do it. They know it is protecting their reputation, and they’re still producing.”

A dairy farmer who supplies Arla Foods, Jens Christian Sorensen, said he is trying to understand what the tax will mean for him as he has 300 milking cows along with a further 360 calves who are not yet producing any milk but are producing methane. He’s investing in sensors that can tip him off when his cows are sick, and he is tracking their food consumption and milk production as well.

The International Monetary Fund (“IMF”) is calling for economy-crushing carbon restrictions that would dwarf that of the lockdowns enforced during the covid era.

The IMF’s plan could lead to crippling energy shortages, food shortages, job losses and eventual total collapse and population decline in Western nations.

At the height of the covid lockdowns and mandates a massive portion of the global economy was shut down, leading to supply chain instability, huge job losses and a stagflationary crisis. However, climate change propagandists argued that the event was actually a positive for the planet when it was revealed that emissions fell by 5.4%. They asserted that the covid lockdowns were a practice run for what they called “climate lockdowns” – presenting a plan for scheduled disruptions to global economic activity as a means to slow the effects of climate change.

Globalists also presented climate lockdowns as a kind of collective social punishment in the event that populations refused to cut carbon output on their own. As World Economic Forum “Agenda Contributor” Mariana Mazzucato argued in 2020:

ABSURD: Dutch speakers call for “meat tax” on farmers due to “damage to climate” at COP29 conference

Two speakers from the Netherlands who took to the podium during the COP29 conference in Baku, Azerbaijan have called for the imposition of a "meat tax" on farmers due to the "damage to climate" they allegedly cause.

Jeroom Remmers, director of the Amsterdam-based True Animal Protein Price Coalition (TAPP), made this remark during the two-day conference that ended Tuesday, Nov. 12.

"Climate change is caused 20 percent by meat and dairy, so the producers of meat and dairy should pay for the damage they cause. It's normal [that] when I damage the window of my neighbor, I have to repair this damage. But meat and dairy processors also have to repair the damage they cause to others and in the future," he said.

Remmers added that some of the collected taxes from meat and dairy producers could be returned to consumers "to reduce prices of healthy foods like vegetables, fruits and plant-based meat," alongside "loss and damage funds."

TAPP Public Affairs and Policy Officer Willem Branten also took the stage, echoing the remarks of his boss Remmers. He explained why his organization wants "to make the polluter pay."

"We believe that COP29 and the UNFCCC [United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change] conferences thereafter can only be successful if the closing statement includes transitioning away from animal protein over-consumption according to national or global dietary guidelines by implementing greenhouse gas emission pricing mechanisms in agri-food systems," he said....<<<Read More>>>...
