Do genetically modified foods cause epigenetic changes which affect our bodies and our minds?

DNA is the molecule that contains the genetic instructions and genes are segments of DNA that encode the instructions for a particular trait or characteristic. Another way to put it is: DNA is responsible for storing genetic information while genes are responsible for expressing that information.

Epigenetic changes are genetic modifications that impact gene activity without changing the DNA sequence. It refers to external modifications to DNA that turn genes “on” or “off.” These modifications do not change the DNA sequence, but instead, they affect how cells “read” genes.

Epigenetic changes can influence various physiological and pathological outcomes and behavioural traits. The infographic in the slideshow below was produced by the Centre on the Developing Child at Harvard University. It shows how children’s experiences affect their genes.

While our physical traits are more or less predetermined by DNA, it is the genes within which are responsible for the development of particular traits. This has been a consistent finding in the field of epigenetics.

A recent article in The Conversation sums up epigenetics pretty well in layman-friendly terms:

Epigenetics refers to shifts in gene expression that occur without changes to the DNA sequence. Some epigenetic changes are an aspect of cell function, such as those associated with ageing. However, environmental factors also affect the functions of genes, meaning people’s behaviours affect their genetics. For instance, identical twins develop from a single fertilised egg, and as a result, they share the same genetic makeup. However, as the twins age, their appearances may differ due to distinct environmental exposures.

Epigenetic modifications are influenced by environmental factors, pharmaceutical and nutritional elements, lifestyle and developmental stages. They play crucial roles in normal development, cellular differentiation and disease processes. For instance, epigenetic changes can affect cancer progression, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. Unlike genetic mutations, epigenetic modifications are often reversible, making them a significant area of interest for therapeutic interventions. Understanding epigenetics provides insights into how genes and the environment interact to shape health and disease outcomes across generations.

Epigenetic studies on identical twins have also effectively demolished the “gay gene” theory. It was discovered that the adoption of a homosexual lifestyle by one identical twin is rarely replicated in the genetically identical kin. The argument that “I was born this way” is therefore based on politically-dictated fraudulent science.

While the field of epigenetics is vast and often poorly understood, I will focus on three elements which can activate novel gene expressions in the human body...<<<Read More>>>...

The Fake ‘Food as Medicine’ Agenda

The food supply is under attack. Whether it be from technocrats waging a war against real food, regulations that threaten food sovereignty or the use of toxic chemicals, humans’ right to access unadulterated, healthy food is slipping away.

The globalists behind The Great Reset have long had a monopoly on food with their patented genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The primary purpose of GMOs was to facilitate the use of the toxic herbicide glyphosate,1 which Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D., a senior research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), presents in the next section of the symposium video. But to understand what’s coming, it’s important to understand the past.

The biotech industry used lobbying to ensure GMOs would be treated as substantially equivalent to real food, essentially bypassing the requirement to do safety testing before releasing them on the market. Their playbook is reminiscent of Big Tobacco’s tactics for a product that doesn’t harm you immediately but is detrimental gradually over time. An equally serious threat as GMOs has now emerged, however — synthetic food....<<<Read More>>>....

The toxic world of GM crops

The biotech industry promised genetically engineered foods would reduce pesticide use, increase the nutritional content of food, boost farmers’ profits and feed the world by increasing yields.

In reality, GM crops have turned glyphosate into one of the most widely and recklessly used herbicides in history and monoculture has led to a loss of biodiversity.

GM crops have also failed to live up to expected increases in crop yields and, nutritionally, GMOs primarily provide cheap, unhealthy ingredients for ultra-processed ready meals, pre-packaged foods and fast-food restaurants.

More than 40,000 people in the US have filed lawsuits alleging exposure to Roundup is the cause of their cancer. Once a rare cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma is now the seventh most common cancer in US men and women.

The agricultural biotech industry continues to advance with a new suite of genetic engineering technologies known as gene editing, which includes techniques such as CRISPR as well as synthetic biology and gene drives....<<<Read More>>>...

The rise and fall of Beyond Meat

It looks like it is game over for the Beyond Meat fake food company, which saw its stock crash amid widespread disinterest in fake meat products. After going public in 2019, the Bill Gates-invested company saw a quick pop followed by a stead decline. The Beyond Meat share price at the time reached a high of $234. As of this writing, Beyond Meat shares are trading for $15.90 a pop.

What went wrong? Well, for one, the vast majority of human beings crave real meat from animals. They are not interested in a lab-concocted abomination of chemicals, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and other questionable ingredients.

Second, Beyond Meat’s claim to fame that it had developed a “climate friendly” alternative to real meat means very little now that the world is waking up to the climate change scam.

Try as it most certainly did to paint environmentalism across the brand, Beyond Meat is now “beyond hope,” to quote an article in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that documents the company’s rise and fall into oblivion.

“Beyond Meat was inundated with initial-public-offering cash, and its products began appearing in restaurants and on grocery shelves,” writes Andrew Boucher. “You can find Beyond Meat burgers, breakfast sausages, brats, Italian sausages and something called ‘Beefy Crumbles’ at Walmart.”

“Beyond Meat jerky even started showing up in convenience stores next to the real beef jerky, corn nuts and pork rinds. McDonald’s introduced the McPlant … The question that many investors, cheerleaders or financial analysts apparently didn’t bother to ask: Who’s going to eat this?”...<<<Read More>>>....

Beyond Meat stock plunges as Americans reject Frankenfood burgers

[Natural News]: While globalist organizations like the World Economic Forum continue to push people to consume fake meat products “for the climate,” Americans are largely rejecting chemical-laden Frankenfoods like the Beyond Burger – and shares of the company behind it are tanking as worries mount about their future.

Beyond Meat dropped by nearly a dollar per share as they reported a net loss during the third quarter of $55 million as demand for their fake meat dwindles and higher costs eat away at profits. The stock cratered 19 percent during premarket trading on Thursday.

According to CNBC, they reported third-quarter losses of 87 cents per share, far exceeding the 39 cents per share expected by Wall Street, while revenue also fell short. They reported a fiscal third-quarter net loss of $54.8 million, which is far greater than the $19.3 million net loss reported a year earlier.

The company blamed higher costs for warehousing and transportation as well as inventory write-offs and operational challenges for its woes, but the truth is that consumers just aren’t getting on board with what was once hailed “the next big thing.”.....<<<Read More>>>....

Warning: ‘Keys Of The Food System’ Being Handed Over To Big Tech

[Waking Times]: Imagine a world where algorithms are used to optimize growing conditions on every fertile square meter of land. Where whole ecosystems are re-engineered. Where drones and surveillance systems manage the farm. Where farmers are forced off the land into e-commerce villages.

Imagine a world where food is treated like a strategic asset and food transit routes are militarized. Where powerful governments and their flag-bearer corporations control resources and food supplies across vast economic corridors.

Imagine a world where many foods are grown in petri dishes, vats, and bioreactors. Where people’s eating habits are invisibly nudged using reams of metadata they have unknowingly surrendered via digital wallets. Where AI assistant apps decide on people’s food intake based on genetic information, family history, mood, and data readings from inside their waste bins and digestive systems.

This may sound like science fiction. But the “4th industrial revolution” is already sweeping through food systems. For proof, we need look no further than the changing complexion of the agri-food sector, where mergers and market disruptions are occurring at a dizzying pace....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

The coming obsolescence of animal meat - Silicon Valley start-ups push more 'schmeat'

[S.O.T.T]: Companies are racing to develop real chicken, fish, and beef that don't require killing animals. Here's what's standing in their way.

The thought I had when the $100 chicken nugget hit my expectant tongue was the one cartoon villains have when they entrap a foreign critter and roast him over a spit: It tastes like chicken.

That's because it was chicken-albeit chicken that had never laid an egg, sprouted a feather, or been swept through an electrified-water bath for slaughter. This chicken began life as a primordial mush in a bioreactor. Before that, it was a collection of cells swirling calmly in a red-hued, nutrient-rich "media," with a glass flask for an eggshell. The chicken is definitely real, and technically animal flesh, but it left the world as it entered it-a mass of meat, ready for human consumption, with no brain or wings or feet.

This meat was what most of the world calls "lab grown," but what Just, the company that makes the nugget, and other Silicon Valley start-ups want me to call "cultured meat" or "cell-based" meat, or better yet, "clean meat." The argument is that almost all the food we eat, at some point, crosses a laboratory, whether in the course of researching flavors or perfecting packaging. So it is not fair to single out this particular product as being associated with freaky science...read more>>>...

Microsoft now conspiring with pro-Monsanto front group “NewsGuard” to censor all anti-GMO news on mobile devices

Natural News: Microsoft has just unveiled its plans to partner up with NewsGuard, a “startup” company bent on censoring the world wide web, disguised as an app that helps users weed out “fake news.”

Now, instead of being an app that users can choose to download, Microsoft will be incorporating the technology as an integrated feature of their mobile web browser, Edge. If you use your cellphone to surf the web, Edge might not be the best choice — unless you enjoy being spoon-fed leftist propaganda by a neocon corporation that is tied to Monsanto.

As if the blatant censorship of conservatives across social media wasn’t bad enough, Microsoft and NewsGuard are now conspiring to suppress all kinds of information, ranging from conservative news organizations to scientific literature exposing the dangers of GMOs....read more>>>...

The Creator of GM Potatoes Comes Clean about the Hidden Dangers of this New Frankenfood

Waking Times: Having spent 26 years as a genetic engineer in the agricultural industry, he Ex-Director of J.R. Simplot and team leader at Monsanto, Caius Rommens, recently expressed his concerns over GM potatoes in an interview with Sustainable Pulse.

He’s developed over 150,000 varieties of GM potatoes, under budgets exceeding $50 million, and can be considered the world’s foremost expert on GM potatoes.

“It is amazing that the USDA and FDA approved the GM potatoes by only evaluating our own data. How can the regulatory agencies assume there is no bias? When I was at J.R. Simplot, I truly believed that my GM potatoes were perfect, just like a parent believes his or her children are perfect. I was biased and all genetic engineers are biased. It is not just an emotional bias. We need the GM crops to be approved. There is a tremendous amount of pressure to succeed, to justify our existence by developing modifications that create hundreds of millions of dollars in value. We test our GM crops to confirm their safety, not to question their safety.

The regulatory petitions for deregulation are full with meaningless data but hardly include any attempts to reveal the unintended effects. For instance, the petitions describe the insertion site of the transgene, but they don’t mention the numerous random mutations that occurred during the tissue culture manipulations. And the petitions provide data on compounds that are safe and don’t matter, such as the regular amino acids and sugars, but hardly give any measurements on the levels of potential toxins or allergens.

I dedicated many years of my life to the creation of GMO potatoes, and I initially believed that my potatoes were perfect but then I began to doubt. It again took me many years to take a step back from my work, reconsider it, and discover the mistakes. Looking back at myself and my colleagues, I believe now that we were all brainwashed; that we all brainwashed ourselves. We believed that the essence of life was a dead molecule, DNA, and that we could improve life by changing this molecule in the lab. We also assumed that theoretical knowledge was all we needed to succeed, and that a single genetic change would always have one intentional effect only.

We were supposed to understand DNA and to make valuable modifications, but the fact of the matter was that we knew as little about DNA as the average American knows about the Sanskrit version of the Bhagavad Gita. We just knew enough to be dangerous, especially when combined with our bias and narrowmindedness. We focused on short-term benefits (in the laboratory) without considering the long-term deficits (in the field). It was the same kind of thinking that produced DDT, PCBs, Agent Orange, recombinant bovine growth hormone, and so on. I believe that it is important for people to understand how little genetic engineers know, how biased they are, and how wrong they can be. My story is just an example.

The problem with certain insects, including bees, is that they cannot degrade the small double-stranded RNAs that cause gene silencing. These double-stranded RNAs were intended to silence several potato genes in tubers, but they are likely to be expressed in pollen as well. So, when the pollen is consumed by bees, the double stranded RNAs in this pollen may silence bee genes that share inadvertent homology.” ...read more>>>...

British Meats = Zero Taste

British meat tastes NAFF! No more accurately, most British meat tastes of absolutely nothing, even when you spend a fortune, and cook it correctly. Unless of course you buy Pheasant or Venison and other game meats.

We wonder why?We also purchase frozen Kangaroo and other imported meats as an alternative to naff British meat.

We can remember the strong aroma and strong taste of Pork; the distinctive smell of Chicken and the wonderful tastes of Lamb and Beef. This was back in 2002 prior to our emigration to the Southern Hemisphere. Since then, so much has happened to British meats. Pork is a drab meat with little or no taste. Chicken is just the same, a watery meat with no taste; it certainly isn't Halal where we purchase it from (We more often then not make curries to make it taste of something). We recently had Lamb shanks and there was virtually no taste. Plenty of blood so its not Halal. Last night we had a decent Beef roast ... and I cooked my part very rare; again tasteless.

What the beep beep has happened? It's clearly something to do with what the animals are fed; perhaps Genetic modification too .... but it is very noticeable. Except for the less popular game meats which have very strong tastes, like they should. Try a freshly caught Pheasant if you want to remember how British Chicken once tasted.

A bad combo: Combining wheat and sugar can lead to inflammation

Natural News: It just happens that Western diets are rife with items that have both wheat and sugars — including bread, breakfast cereals, pasta, noodles, cakes, and biscuits. To make it worse, most of these foods are what’s known as refined carbs, or those that have been processed and stripped of most nutrients and fiber. Eating refined carbs can increase the risk of obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Earlier studies have stated that refined carbs can cause inflammation, as well as an increase in belly fat and resistance to leptin (an enzyme that regulates body weight)....read more>>>...

Set of studies reveal what happens to the cancer-fighting phenolic acids in corn when they are processed

Natural News: Do you like having cornflakes for breakfast? It may not be the best breakfast option after all. Research has revealed that the cancer-fighting phenolics in corn are lost when they are processed. A team of researchers from the University of Illinois conducted a set of studies to determine what happens to cancer-fighting phenolic acids in corn when they are processed....read more>>>...

Fruit is now so full of sugar it's damaging the health of Zoo animals

S.O.T.T: Selective breeding has made the fruit we eat so full of sugar, Melbourne Zoo has had to wean its animals off it. Fruit is vital in human diets, and we all need to eat more. But at the zoo, keepers found fruit-heavy diets were making some animals obese - and rotting their teeth.

"The issue is the cultivated fruits have been genetically modified to be much higher in sugar content than their natural, ancestral fruits," says Dr Michael Lynch, the zoo's head vet.

"It's interesting. After doing a lot with nutrition here, I tend to eat less fruit."

Monkeys love bananas. But now, says Dr Lynch, the zoo's primates don't get any fruit at all.

For humans, eating fruit is associated with a reduced risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, obesity, gastric cancer and lung cancer, an evidence review commissioned by the federal government found.

Despite fruit's sugar content, increasing your fruit intake does not increase your risk of type 2 diabetes. Fruits contain important nutrients, and fruit's natural sugars are very different from the harmful '"free sugars" in soft drinks...read more>>>...

The Next Huge GMO Crime is Here

Waking Times: The official propaganda could go several ways. One version: “We won’t be inserting foreign genes from other species into food plants anymore, as we do now in GMO crops. Instead, we’ll be tweaking and editing the genes that are already in the plants. It’s wonderful.”

Of course, this “new and improved process” can produce unintended and unpredictable effects that ripple through plant DNA. Oops.

Here is a cautionary statement from Jennifer Doudna, the co-discoverer of the latest and greatest method of gene-surgery, called CRISPR: “I guess I worry about a couple of things. I think there’s sort of the potential for unintended consequences of gene editing in people for clinical use. How would you ever do the kinds of experiments that you might want to do to ensure safety?”...read more>>...

Are Nanoparticles Engineered into GM Foods Causing Cancer?

In modern agriculture, it is not possible to only spray weeds without spraying soy and corn crops. Glyphosate is therefore genetically modified (GM) to kill only weeds while at the same time enhancing the growth of crops. However, glyphosate does not readily penetrate the leaves of weeds and crops, and therefore is mixed with adjuvants that aid leaf penetration. For decades, nano particles (NPs) and specifically carbon nano tubes (CNTs) that readily penetrate leaves have been used as adjuvants allowing glyphosate to be carried to plant roots for more efficient absorption.

Upon human consumption of GM foods, most glyphosate and included NPs are rapidly excreted, but residues [1] remain in the human gut. Indeed, the important question of NPs in GM foods is the same as that of nanotechnology in general: Do NPs contribute to the wide range of health problems?

Donald Huber, the prominent critic of GM foods claims soil-borne plant pathogens are produced that do indeed harm human health, e.g., residents living close to sprayed GM soybeans fields in Argentina developed cancers and birth defects.

However, GM food proponents argue science is still looking for, but not found Huber’s pathogen to establish the causal link between glyphosate and human health problems.

Regardless, the question remains: Is there a causal link between NPs in GM foods and human health? ...read more>>>....

GMOs invade fruit industry: Apples, pears, cherries and peaches to all become unlabeled GMO

Natural News: Genetically modified apples have been approved by the industry-corrupted USDA, a federal regulator that accomplishes for the biotech industry the same thing the FDA achieves for Big Pharma: unlimited profits, lax regulation and a ready willingness to accept fabricated "science" as fact.

The USDA has neglected to look at the full range of risks from these apples. In its environmental assessment, the USDA glossed over the possibility of unintentional effects associated with the technology used to engineer these apples, potential economic impacts on the U.S. and international apple market, effects of potential contamination for non-GMO and organic apple growers and the impact of the non-browning gene silencing which also can weaken plant defenses and plant healthhttp://www.naturalnews.com

DNA from GMOs can pass directly into humans, study confirms

Natural News: The idea that DNA from genetically modified organisms (GMOs) is broken down in the digestive tract and rendered innocuous, a common industry claim, is patently false. A recent study published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE found that large, meal-derived DNA fragments from GMOs are fully capable of transferring their genes directly into the bloodstream, deconstructing the myth that transgenic foods act on the body in the same way as natural foods...read more>>>...

Are you inflamed over GMO foods?

S.O.T.T: Several years ago the general public was completely unaware of GMOs and GE foods (genetically modified organisms or genetic engineering), but today the topic is becoming rather well known, thanks to growing education and alternative media coverage. The general public is becoming better informed about the potential harms and health issues associated with biotechnology and bioengineered foods, but the smoke and mirrors the mega-corporations use to obfuscate deeper understanding of the dangers inherent in such 'mad science' increases in tandem with growing awareness.

Ok, so a lot of people know they are eating GMO's and what they are, but the real question is: are GMOs actually safe, as proponents and supporters of biotechnology claim, or are they not? Should we be worried about the long-term health and environmental effects of genetically altered foods? In the following article I hope to present clear evidence and data for stating very definitively:

YES! We should be very concerned!...READ MORE>>...

Anti-Monsanto Activism

S.O.T.T: Monsanto perhaps is the world's most hated corporation. Considering the competition, it's not easy taking top honors.  GMO foods and ingredients are toxic. They're unsafe to eat. They're hazardous to human health. They should be banned. Monsanto's the leading producer.  GMOs poison people for profit. Independent studies explain. Agribusiness giants want all animal and vegetable life forms patented. They want worldwide food control. Getting it means everything produced for human consumption won't be safe to eat. Last May, tens of thousands of people marched against Monsanto. They did so in dozens of countries worldwide. They want consumer protections enacted. They want safe food to eat. They want governments assuring it. They want GMO foods and ingredients labeled. Ideally they want them banned...read more>>>...

Stealth GMOs Are Coming: Approved & Unlabelled Everywhere

Waking Times: Genetically modified organisms are a terrifying development when we know they exist, but there’s a new system of creating GMOs that’s getting a complete pass. By fiat, our governments are allowing a process that produces genetically modified ‘foods’ for sale with absolutely no oversight. They can be called natural, or simply not labeled. Nothing, absolutely nothing, interferes with their introduction into the food supply. Genetic engineering means changing the genetic material of a living plant, fungus, or animal. What we’ve been fighting is merely one type, recombinant DNA, in which the gene from one species is transplanted into another. But it isn’t the only way to change genes. Another technique has been developed and patented, technically called oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis (ODM), but branded Rapid Transit Development System (RTDS) by Cibus, of San Diego, California...read more>>>...
