Mediumship & The Effect Of Client High Expectations

Mediumship connections to 'the other side' are like a very finite and delicate fibre at the best of times. They rely on the concentration and confidence of the Medium. As a Medium there is an incredible responsibility on your shoulders to get the connection right. To provide the correct information to your client and ensure you totally validate the person you are ' bringing through' from the other side. From personal experience, most connections have been correctly validated, giving comfort and relief to my clients.

However, there has been one instance lately where the connection was hampered by a client's high expectations and urgency to hear from his recently departed loved one. He had a preconceived idea of what was going to be said, and was seeking absolute personal details from a soul who had only passed in the last couple of months.

This put untold pressure on me as the Medium. Not only had I to make a connection with a newly deceased soul, but I also needed to provide absolute proof to satisfy my client's requirements. This is usually a no-no type of reading.

Yes, I was able to connect with his loved one, confirmed what she passed from. I was able to verify the relationship between the two of them, with some personal details. However, my client went away feeling disappointed as it had not been the dynamic and powerful connection he was seeking. Without that high expectation on his part, I may well have reached the personal information he was seeking.

It may well have been too soon to talk to the deceased soul. His expectations undoubtedly contributed to additional pressure on my shoulders. I wasn't personally disappointed for in truth I had made the connection and I did bring her through. I just hope next time he seeks to connect, he clears his mind of what he expects and values what does come through. ---- Matthew James

Discovery of quantum vibrations inside brain neurons supports controversial theory of consciousness

S.O.T.T: The recent discovery of quantum vibrations inside neurons in the brain supports a controversial theory of consciousness. If correct, it might lead to new treatments for many different conditions, it is claimed in a new review of the evidence by Hameroff and Penrose (2013). The theory - which implies the brain is connected to the universe at a quantum level - was first proposed in the 1990s, but it suffered extensive criticism.

One major point against it was that the brain was thought to be too "warm, wet and noisy" for coherent quantum processes. Recent evidence, though, from researchers led by Anirban Bandyopadhyay has found the proposed quantum vibrations inside microtubules within brain neurons. These microtubules are components of cell scaffolding - they help provide our cells with their structure - that are around 25µm in length.

Other research has also found evidence of quantum coherence in living cells. It has been found in our sense of smell, in the parts of bird's brains responsible for navigation and in plant photosynthesis...read more>>>...

Experiences We Don’t Understand

Daily Om: Sometimes we have an experience that we don’t understand, but if we look deeply, or wait long enough, a reason for that experience will usually reveal itself. All the events in our lives lead to other events, and all that we have manifested in this present moment is the result of past events and experiences. We cannot easily tease apart the many threads that have been woven together to create our current reality. Experiences that don’t make sense, as well as any that we regret, are just as responsible for the good things in our lives as the experiences we do understand or label as “good.” This is especially important to remember at times when we feel directionless or unsure of what to do. It is often at times like these that we take a job or move to a place without really knowing if it’s the right thing to do. We may ultimately end up leaving the job or the place, but often during that time we will have met someone who becomes an important friend, or we may have an experience that changes us in a profound way...read more>>>...

Unsealed: Alien Files... seriously?

S.O.T.T: While searching for something interesting to watch, I stumbled across a program called Unsealed: Alien Files and my only comment is, "Seriously?"
This is one of the reasons that we have trouble getting science and journalism to take UFO reports seriously. It is one of the reasons that so many people have so little time for UFOs or who believe those seeing UFOs are deluded. This program, in the guise of a documentary, wasfilled with every half-baked idea, every conspiracy theory associated with UFOs, and every lousy piece of evidence available. It was horrendous. What surprised me was that some very respectable people... Nick Pope and John Greenwald to name but two... were on it. In fact, the program that featured Pope and the UK's investigation of UFOs made some sense and provided some interesting evidence. It was clear from that program that a serious UFO investigation had been conducted by England's Ministry of Defence and that UFO information had been hidden in classified files by the authorities there...read more>>>...

Curative Attentiveness

Daily Om: Few people enjoy the company of individuals whose attitudes are persistently negative. Yet many of us tolerate the critical chatter that can originate within our own minds. Since we are so used to the stream of self-limiting, critical consciousness that winds its way through our thoughts, we are often unaware of the impact these musings have on our lives. It is only when we become aware of the power of such thoughts that we can divest ourselves of them and fill the emptiness they leave with loving, peaceful affirmations. Many people, upon paying careful attention to their thinking patterns, are surprised at the negativity they find there. But when we take notice of involuntary thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, we initiate a healing process that will eventually allow us to replace intimidating and upsetting self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts. While the occasional downbeat or judgmental thought may have little impact on your contentment, the ongoing negativity that passes unnoticed can have a dampening effect on your mood and your outlook. When you are aware of the tone of your thoughts, however, you can challenge them. Try to be conscious of your feelings, opinions, and judgments for a single day. From sunup to sundown, scrutinize the messages you are feeding into your subconscious mind...read more>>>...

'Did you see that?' Heathrow jet pilot saw high-speed 'UFO' that 'passed within feet of his plane'

Daily Mail: A pilot has reported a mysterious flying object passed within feet of his cockpit in the skies around London's Heathrow Airport. The captain of the A320, flying to the west of the airport, was looking out the a cockpit window and saw a cigar-shaped metallic object flying at a similar altitude, seemingly directly at his plane. A report on the apparent near-miss, which took place in July, has just been released by the UK Airprox Board, part of the Civil Aviation Authority...read more>>>...

Elaborate crop circle discovered on Californian farm

S.O.T.T: Mulder no longer has to convince Scully - the truth may have invaded the Salinas Valley. Alien theorists and curious onlookers alike flocked to Chualar today after a video hit YouTube this morning depicting what looks like an extraterrestrial imprint in a field near just off Chualar Canyon Road.

In a two-minute-plus video shot in the pre-dawn hours, a pair of men chatter in excited whispers as they drive up upon a flattened series of circles and paths in the field.

Climbing the barbed wire fence, one climbs up on a yellow water tank and says in hushed tones, "There it is. There it is. There it is. Do you see it?"

What is it?" he continues. "What is that?"

As he pans the camera to the ground he asks his audience, "Are you seeing this? It's all laid down."

"Dude, this is a crop circle," he determines....read more>>>...

It's a WHITEWASH! Sorry England embarrassed by Australia after another humiliating defeat Down Under as hosts complete 5-0 rout in Sydney

Daily Mail: The final ignominy is complete. One of England’s worst Test series defeats, and only the third Ashes whitewash, was complete within three miserable days of the final Test as they capitulated here in another abject, sorrowful surrender. Every time it has seemed that this horrific tour could not get any worse England have come up with a new low, this time crashing from a position of relative calm at 87 for three at tea chasing a nominal 448 for victory to a pathetic 166 all out. It has simply been the most wretched defence of the urn in history. How on earth did it come to this? England came here with high hopes of an historic fourth successive Ashes victory but everything that could go wrong has gone wrong for them in a brutal unravelling of a once great Test team... read more>>>...

Is this a ghost outside Parliament? Mysterious apparition caught on camera next to the Thames on New Year's Eve

Daily Mail: A ghostly figure has been caught on camera standing outside Parliament on New Year's Eve. The spooky image shows a transparent figure dressed in modern clothing gazing out over the Thames near Westminster Bridge in London. Professional photographer Jules Annan took the image on New Year's Eve - but only noticed the ghostly apparition when he got home. He said: 'Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I can't explain it. There was no one there when I took the photograph and it is not a double exposure or a long exposure. I have shown it to five or six other people and they cannot explain it either.' Among the experts he has consulted is paranormal investigator Lee Roberts, owner of Haunted Events UK...read more>>>...

Putting Yourself First

Daily Om: We have all heard the instructions of an airline attendant reminding us to put on our own oxygen mask before we help anyone else with theirs. This advice is often cited as a metaphor for self-care because it so accurately expresses why it is important. It seems to say, ironically, that if you can’t take care of yourself for yourself, do it for others. Few situations in our daily lives mimic the wake-up call of an airplane emergency, so it’s easy to keep putting self-care off—easy, that is, until we get sick, overwhelmed, or exhausted, and suddenly don’t have the energy to care for the people who count on us. That’s when we realize we haven’t been getting the oxygen we need to sustain ourselves. We begin to understand that taking care of ourselves is neither selfish nor indulgent; it’s just plain practical. Putting yourself first means that it may be necessary to say no to someone else in order to say yes to yourself. For many of us, there is always something we feel we could be doing for someone else, and it helps to remember the oxygen metaphor. You can even encourage yourself by saying “I am caring for myself so that I am better able to care for others” ...read more>>>...

A Strange Way

I've had plenty of thinking time. Practising my art had to fall by the wayside. But I see it as a strengthening process. Not the best way I admit but the way which had been chosen for me by powers much greater than my own. So many postponements of events and private bookings though. I've been in tears on numerous occasions - the outpouring of people's healing, caring and concern have had the same effect.

People's well wishes and actions on Facebook have been amazing. So amazing I've had to understand its been my time to accept back what I have been so readily giving over the last 20 plus years. I'm here for other people and get so much out of helping them through their predicaments. The love and healing so readily by people has been nothing short of incredible. Like I voiced earlier, there have been plenty of tears over this.

I will be returning back into my counselling and intuitive profession shortly. Certainly by March 2014, I will be back in the comfort of what I do best.

So please watch this space everyone.

Finally!

Happy New Year everyone! I've been unable to service A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS as I once did and I must apologise here and now for that. There's been too few posts over the last few months and the mojo has sadly gone from a once potent place. Those of you who me personally, or follow me on Facebook know why.

My strength is returning and elements are coming back which will rectify this upsetting scenario.

Magic will be returning back I assure you!
