Bushranger Hotel - Transcript Extract II

"Next landing and then room preceding the Dormitory, -- intrigued by apparent activity in doorway. EMF meter, held by --, registered a high reading at door between first room and dormitory. A cross design was noted on window in dormitory. High EMF readings were also detected throughout Dormitory room. Repetition of same findings were found at same localities when later revisited. Especially high readings were detected in far end of Dormitory in locality of bed. 

 

An inspection of the inexplicable cross marking on the Dormitory window indicated that some unknown substance had been used to create the cross and an attempt to replicate the cross pattern on the window, by drawing one on the window with finger pressure, failed to make any impression on the window." Haunted Canberra: Blundell Cottage

The second part of our paranormal investigation around Canberra last night (Monday 25th Janaury 2010) comprised a midnight visit to Blundell Cottage on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. Another reputed haunted site in and around Canberra. We'd visited the cottage by day several weeks earlier and recorded some unusual light phenomenon, so we were eager to see what could be uncovered on the outside of the property. Sadly, no high EMF readings were recorded and nothing unusual was unearthed with the cameras. But the visit wasn't a total disappointment. A number of interesting anomalies were recorded during EVP sessions around the property. From clear murmurs, sighs and hums in response to questions to the audible 'cracking' of small branches on two occasions at the same point. This session was interesting as the first 'crack' occurred immediately after the session recording began and in direct response to asking of anything or anyone was present at that time. The locality was revisited about ten minutes later, and at the same 'cue' an even louder, clear 'cracking' noise was heard in response to the question. Our conclusion: on the evidence of the EVP sessions there may be something paranormal present at Blundell Cottage.

"Inspections of internal windows in both The Dormitory & Room 3 revealed the hand prints of a young child plus there were a number of clear markings of a young child’s hand on the glass of the wardrobe door in Room 3. These markings included two clear handprints; numerous finger prints, and an area where child sized fingers had been rubbed down the face of the glass. The Owner informed us that neither of these rooms have ever been used as family rooms so there is no logical explanation for these child’s handprints on the windows or the wardrobe door; or for the cross on the window. These areas are regularly maintained and clearly from the owner's reactions these markings had not been there on the last clean in these rooms. Nobody had been in these rooms prior to our visit." The Bush Ranger Hotel, Collector, NSW on the outskirts of Canberra IS haunted. We at A Light In The Darkness can PERSONALLY vouch for that FACT. An unplanned paranormal investigation, last night, uncovered a number of 'happenings' experienced by ourselves, which were completely concurrent with the known happenings at the Bush Ranger Hotel. The owner had kindly granted us permission to 'venture' upstairs into the hotel accommodation rooms. He'd not said a word, prior to our investigation, so we were none the wiser as to what we would experience. Our 'findings' were later confirmed by the owner as being in keeping with who, and what, is known to be there at the hotel. Our findings provided perfect collaboratory evidence with what other investigations had uncovered at the hotel. What was effectively the 'dress rehearsal' for our first true investigation later in the week, elsewhere, turned out to herald pleasing results. There were aspects of the investigation, namely physical phenomenon, which even caught the owner by surprise. We will approach the owner to report the findings here at a later date. We had been asked to provide a written testament of our experiences for the owner, which we are currently compiling. So watch this space.
