The Secret Science of Mind: How Positive Thinking Became a Force in the Modern World

If there is a central religious doctrine for the New Age, surely it is this – the belief that positive thoughts can bend reality to their own shape. It is an alluring concept. If it’s true, we don’t need to act or work or perform in the world. All we need to do is change our thinking. But is there anything to this idea?

To understand something about the doctrine of thought power, it’s helpful to look at its history. The father of the religion of positive thinking was an obscure New Englander named Phineas Parkhurst Quimby (1802–66).

Quimby, like many men of his time, was a jack of all trades. He started as a clockmaker, but eventually became fascinated with alternative methods of healing and learned the art of mesmerism or animal magnetism, a forerunner of hypnosis. Quimby found that if he put an assistant into a trance, the assistant could diagnose and prescribe a remedy for a patient’s disease (much like Edgar Cayce, the celebrated “sleeping prophet” who lived a couple of generations later).

Quimby built up a successful practice this way, but soon he came to a startling conclusion: it didn’t matter what remedy was prescribed; it was the faith of the patient that made the difference. So Quimby dismissed his assistant and began to practice his own radical method of healing, in which he would simply convince the patient that he or she was already well. Quimby’s warm and gentle nature aroused a sense of confidence. His office filled with patients, and many came away from his treatments feeling great relief or even fully cured. He often treated people for free when they could not pay...<<<Read More>>>...

Living the Life You Always Dreamed of Living

[Wake Up World]: Whatever you stay focused on long enough you create in your life through experiences. As you keep the mind focusing on positives, mastering gratitude and the emotions focusing on high self-belief and appreciation, you create a deeper sense of peace, joy and love in your life. By putting all your focus on your fears and insecurities and allowing them to control your life, you will create drama and non-positive experiences. This doesn’t mean you ignore, resist or act as if the fears or insecurities don’t exist. Rather you don’t allow them to control your life. You face and release your fears and insecurities triggered in your belief system by taking responsibility for what they are showing you and transform the beliefs to more positive loving ones.

Affirmations are one tool to help in shifting fears and insecurities to more positive loving ones. Affirmations are positive words used in the present tense that you say, see, feel numerous times throughout the day to shift the belief system in areas where there is lack of confidence and self-worth and/or fears. Saying these positive words in the present tense and numerous times to oneself daily, supports the transformation. Using positive words is like being an actor or actress, where you are playing a different role in life. You are convincing yourself that you are better than you think you are. Your vocabulary shifts your attitude, which shifts your focus, which shifts your belief. This new vocabulary changes your thinking habits thereby changing your perceptions in life. With this new perception, you create new behaviors and a different reality...<<<Read More>>>...

How Paradigms Shift

[Wake Up World]: Here in 2021, we can all look around us and agree that things could be better. No matter what your beliefs about how society should look, we can all feel the pain that comes from living in the current paradigm. Since we deeply feel that everything could be so much better than it is, how do we shift into a better paradigm?

To answer that question, we first need to understand how a paradigm doesn’t shift. Changes of paradigms never happen because the masses convince holders and reinforcers of old paradigms to give them up. They never get given up; they just become irrelevant.

This is important to understand because there is still an underlying assumption by the majority of people that to see meaningful change in society, you need to go head-to-head with the old paradigm. This resistance energy is not a creative energy but a warring one. When you’re playing in the third dimension, you are going up against players who know every trick in the book and will beat you any day of the week at the game.

Protests, boycotts, and other resistance strategies don’t work in the way they are intended to. Even if there is momentary change, or at least the appearance of it, this is another clever trick used to fool people into believing ineffective warring consciousness actually works. It doesn’t lead to a better future. You can simply look to the examples in both older and recent history to see this is true.

The French Revolution ended up with France becoming plagued with extreme violence and a return of even greater authoritarianism for another 100 years. The Arab Spring in 2011 led to a counter-revolution that led to numerous counties in the Middle East descending into civil wars and failed states. Since Occupy Wall Street, the 1% has only become even more powerful and wealthy. Going into war mode won’t lead to the bright future you may believe it will...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

How Changing Your Thoughts Changes Your Life

[Wake Up World]: How many thoughts do you have every day? How many of these thoughts are ones you are consciously aware of? How many of them are helpful to you or others? How many of them are harmful? Taking this path of self-inquiry can help you perform a “thought audit” where you assess whether your current life circumstances are being improved or worsened by your thoughts.

Self-responsibility is the mark of an evolved person who takes ownership of the way they feel and what they experience. Your thoughts are the most powerful form of energy in the multiverse. They can create something from nothing, which is a remarkable feat when you think about it. Everything you see in the world that is both tangible and intangible emerged out of thoughts. You can also expand this out on a macrocosmic scale and say that the Earth, solar system, galaxy, universe, and multidimensional multiverse were also created thanks to conscious creative thoughts....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Overcome Victim Consciousness With This One Simple Change

[Wake Up World]: It’s easy to tether to victimhood sometimes. This becomes even more true when there has been some sort of suffering experienced by several generations in your lineage. Trauma imprints itself and then transfers epigenetically. That is why the work of healing is something that can heal the trauma and suffering of your ancestors just as much as it can help you heal yourself. In order to overcome continuously defaulting to victim consciousness, there really is only one simple change you need to make.

Mindset is everything. We live in a Reality of interconnectedness, where everyone and everything is continually affecting everyone and everything else. Together with the attraction principle, nothing happens without your participation in it in some way. Sometimes, it’s on a deeply unconscious level where we don’t even realize we are running a program that is lining us up with those traumatic or distressing experiences. However, all of that can be resolved with a mind shift.

Before we get into how to overcome victim consciousness, I feel it is vital to emphasize that you should avoid interpreting “You create your reality” as something that casts blame on “victims” and implies that their difficulties arise from not being positive enough. Just because something traumatic happens to us that causes suffering does not automatically mean it’s our fault. A better way to explain the attraction principle involves alignment.

In this Reality that we find ourselves in, coherence is always what everything naturally becomes attracted towards. That means when there is discordance, coherence will readjust energies. If our energy/consciousness/focus, whether we are conscious or not, is in a state of lack, for example, we are pulsing out an energy wave that is encoded with lack. That energy will emanate from you until it reaches something that is resonant with it. A match occurs and then you and whatever else it is both achieve coherence. There is now more lack in your life. This lack could be financial, relationships, time, or something else.

Given the attraction principle that ties into reality creation via mindset, there is something you can tell yourself, as an affirmation, to overcome feeling like a victim.

“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.”

This is a powerful affirmation that Stephen R. Covey, author of the phenomenal book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, shared years ago. You can overcome your limits when you realize that you are always in charge of your energy and direction in life. You hold the vibrational keys to lining up with whatever it is you wish....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Cosmic Ordering A Need.

Going back to grass roots, to places where you were as a child; to think like you were that child free from the constraints of adult fears and woes; works to enable successful cosmic ordering. In fact it appears to be an essential part of the mixture. Going back to when your mind was clear and clean of those painful toxins.

So when you commence the P.M.A and visualise what needs to lie ahead in your life, there is nothing there to prevent a clear magnetic attraction between you, and that what you need in your life. Remember, a NEED is more likely than a want. That just seems the way.

The synchronicity returned again today. It had gone a little pear shaped for a short while. When number sequences like 10.01, 11.11, 12.12, 22;22, 21.12 began appearing on clock faces again, it was an indication that it was happening. An observant mind reads these little things. Not coincidences but magnetic occurrences that indicate that the cosmic order was about to be delivered. And it was, right on cue.

Positive Mental Attitude (P.M.A) Is The Victor's Tonic

Sun, sea and sand! Well not quite, but certainly a bracing walk along a historic pier, in a seaside town, breathing in the salt air.

A healthy pursuit, as part of the cleansing & clearing process associated with the Soul Numerology Year 5. Especially after a smudging session, using White Sage & Lavender, the night before. White Sage to dispel anything -ve and Lavender to put back +ve in the space. The two processes together ... the cleansing of the sacred space and then the mind and body cleansing undertaken during the walk ... aid the survivor trapped at the end of the old chapter; awaiting the arrival of the new chapter.

And in all of it a P.M.A prevails. With laughter and fun; with memories of childhood days spent in the same town; with relaxed breathing ... it all goes to prove that magic can be found just about everywhere, and when you are in the right state of mind, magic is found. It is down to the perceptions that shape your thoughts, as we've said so many times before.

P.M.A helps the survivor brace itself ready for the forthcoming storm; it can adapt, it can grit its teeth and get through; its what it specialises in. It is what it is trained for. It is what it teaches others to do in their own predicaments. So whatever lies ahead, whatever it must face, the survivor personality knows it will triumph as this time is no harder than any of the rest. This time round it will be met with smiling face and positive thoughts.

A positive mental attitude (P.M.A) does wonders for progress and growth; for health and well being; for seeing the wood for the trees; for making light of a bad situation. A P.M.A is the victor's tonic for it promotes self belief and self confidence. It makes the mind active and ready for the next move that has to be made. Like the foot poised on the accelerator awaiting the green light. Confidence will mean that success will prevail. A P.M.A is the means to step from out of the eye of the storm, right into the wall of the storm being able then to walk right through back onto calm seas with minimum fuss. A P.M.A is the best thing to always have. That coupled with mindfulness means the vices and the negative charges are kept at bay. And that was the order of the day, today.

Oh For A Normal Life (Like Everyone Else)

When life path blueprints were being handed out I must have been completely somewhere else. Either that or I arrived late and did 'the milk round' with what was left. My life is not a normal life. It isn't the same kind of undertaking as anyone else.

I look around and see everyone else with an apparent rhythm in their life. I look at mine and its a constant stop, start, stop start. A constant battle to keep the wagon on the road; driving along with four flat tyres and a broken steering rack. Somehow I keep going. But it is ever so weary.

Only tonight the immortal words 'Oh for a normal life like everyone else' was quoted. Its true. There's been nothing but setback after setback in the last 40 years. Most of them being major hurdles that so few would clamber over; I don't get one high hurdle, I get a whole steeplechase of them - and somehow I remain standing. Its a tiring existence ... and there is no explanation for it. Its difficulty after difficulty; and its not a 'what you think you get' situation.

Whether I'm positive or negative with my thinking its the same. Perhaps that would explain the start/stop? Because they say what we think now creates what lies ahead in about 6 months time. So if that's true ... then my perceptions must have been a constant shift from +ve to -ve all the way through my life. Some might say its because I deal with the occult and I'm attracting the shit to me. Really? I say its the life path blueprint I somehow ended up with. A huge dollop of the famous 'karma' to deal with ... yeah right.

If my life went 'normal' I'd probably be bored shitless. Normal to me is this stop/start energy pattern because really its all I've ever known. If life went right tomorrow and stayed right for the rest of my life and I had all the conventional 'successes' that Mr & Mrs Norm have ... I'd been bored. In truth I'm now totally o fay with risks and the heartbreaks of this life path. I'd enjoy a rest from it for a year or two ... and that's what I'm going to cosmic order ... use P.M.A to achieve .... perhaps even a vision board stealing that egocentric's idea ... and see what I get ... who knows.....

I just know its time this bandwagon had a new set of tyres and a new steering rack. The high hurdles need to become avoidable obstacles ... and life needs to treat me a little fairer. Perhaps it will one day!

Making lifestyle changes permanent: Focus on one thing right now and make a specific plan

S.O.T.T: Many people, myself included, have multiple areas of life they would like to improve. For example, I would like to reach more people with my writing, to lift heavier weights at the gym, and to start practicing mindfulness more consistently. Those are just a few of the goals I find desirable and you probably have a long list yourself.

The problem is, even if we are committed to working hard on our goals, our natural tendency is to revert back to our old habits at some point. Making a permanent lifestyle change is really difficult.

Recently, I've come across a few research studies that (just maybe) will make these difficult lifestyle changes a little bit easier. As you'll see, however, the approach to mastering many areas of life is somewhat counter-intuitive...read more>>>...

Thoughts to get you Thinking #42

"I sing the body electric." -- Walt Whitman

The water that makes up so much of our bodies is like ocean water. The salt crystals in this water vibrate at ever-changing frequencies. Our hearts are the emotional centres of our bodies, and they put out frequencies that are 10 times the power of the frequencies of our brains. When we are happy, we vibrate at a higher frequency than when we are angry or sad. Our emotions change the chemical composition of the water in our systems. That's why happy tears taste different than tears of sadness.

Experiencing physical, emotional and mental stillness harmonizes the vibrational output of the body, heart and mind and we become stronger.

"The message we give our bodies -- one of irritation or acceptance -- is the message to which our bodies will answer."
-- Deb Shapiro, Your Body Speaks Your Mind
