This meditation follows on from the Cave Meditation featured earlier in A Light In The Darkness.Make yourself comfortable once more in familiar surroundings. Retrace your steps starting to enable yourself to visualise the cave ..
Find yourself in the cave once more with the warm sand under your feet and the sense that the entrance to the cave is close by.
Breathe slowly and really take your time to forget the mundane world ... and become totally absorbed by the inner world you will now find yourself in.
Notice the ground beneath your feet. See the runic symbol on the ground before you .... a pattern made in the sandy floor of the cave. It is the symbol for Rad which is similar to the initial R. Practice now copying the symbol in the sand beside the rune already written by unknown hand in the sand at your feet.
Watch then as a light begins to emanate from the original runic symbol in the sand. Hear the audible hum which is coming from the now glowing talisman. Feel the warmth of the light like the sun ... and feel the light touch you and revitalise you. Awakening you and energising you,
Take a few deep breaths and feel a light headed sensation build. You find yourself floating almost dreamlike ... fearless now you stand up and begin to wander to the left ... slightly upwards along passageways within the cave. See how smooth the walls of the cave are. How naturally formed the cave network is. You reach a point now where the ceiling of the cave is extremely low ... and the passageway becomes very narrow.
Relax, you can get through this obstacle. Tell yourself that you must become smaller to fit through this passage. Will yourself to shrink in size to fit through the passage way before you.
Feel again the warmth the sun around you ... the light headed almost dreamlike feeling ... it builds and builds as you find your self shrinking now in size ... smaller and smaller ... until you can fit through the passageway ... it is a straight passage now a little more than a hundred yards to the cave entrance. Without the light of the sun from the rune it would be in darkness because it is night time outside.
Make your way now out of the cave ... feeling you resort back to your normal size once you are out of the cae. Sense now an anticipation with your awareness as you know you have crossed a threshold into another world. A world of magic. A realm of all possibilities.
Smell now the fragrances of flowers and salt air on the fresh breeze which now brushes across your face. Not pleased by it being night time ... meaning you are unable to see the beach stretch out before you ... will night time to turn into day time ... really shout it with your mind ... and watch the rays of light from within the cave expand and grow in intensity until they create an orb of incandescent light ...
See then as the orb lifts into the sky and suddenly it is daytime ... it is the dawn of a new day .. hear the gull's cries around you ... look at the idyllic sandy beach ... the waves crashing on the shore ... look around you at the miles and miles of untouched beach in both directions.
Look down now at your feet and see the figure eight there in the sand ... the symbol for infinity ... concentrate on the image ... and then as you do become aware there are a pair of feet close by to where you are now kneeling on the beach. Look up slowly ... into the face of a smiling man standing there before you ....
He might be dressed like a pirate ... or as a sailor ... or some other costume associated with the sea ... but concentrate more on his face .... he will be very familiar to you ... a connection will be made ... and you will feel then the warmth of the sun within your heart centre.
Take hold of his offered hand and walk with him for a while.
Then when you feel ready ... let the visualisation fade .... and become aware once more of the mundane world around you. Take a number of slow but steady breaths ... then relax for a moment or two. Write your experiences down ...
Just now you can return there whenever you wish to ...
