Animal Messengers

Animals share our planet with us, but experience it differently. Each has its own abilities and gifts that allow them to interact successfully with the natural world. Since we are merely one manifestation of the universe’s energy in action, we can turn to animals in nature for guidance when we feel the need for direction. Animals can show us different ways to approach and deal with our challenges.

As we hold a question in mind, we can begin to pay attention to the animal activity around us. While we stare out a window, we may notice a bird soaring high in the sky, showing us how to look at our situation from a greater distance. If we don’t get an immediate answer, we can remember that the universe has its own perfect timing that doesn’t heed the ticking of the clock. Instead, we can release our question into the universe’s care, and then trust that an animal messenger will carry inspiration our way. In the meantime, we align ourselves with the universe’s rhythm — opening ourselves and shifting our perceptions so that at the perfect time, we will be ready. Then, even weeks later, the sight of a small bird hopping from branch to branch may signal us to use a talent other than our greatest strength and to take small leaps rather than fly over details. A squirrel bounding across an open expanse of grass to stash its latest prize may remind us to check our favorite hiding places for a forgotten treasure. Even if we don’t see actual animals, their representations may hold messages; whether we see them in a shape in the clouds, a picture, or a show on television, their symbolic meaning is the same.

Animals are closer to the rhythms and cycles of nature and have fewer distractions from it than humans do. That is why they are the perfect messengers when we are in need of advice. Just by being themselves, they remind us of the wisdom of the universe and that all answers are available to us when we reconnect with our source and with those who know how to be nurtured by it. Wedge-tailed Eagle - The Persecuted King

The wedge-tailed eagle, or eaglehawk, is found throughout Australian and southern New Guinea, and the most common of large eagles worldwide. It is the largest bird of prey in Australia with a wingspan of 2-3 metres

The wedge-tailed eagle is the persecuted king, he is still shot by farmers, and even considered 'vermin', he is hunted, misrepresented and sometimes demonised.

When eagle comes into your life, he warns you that you are being demonised or persecuted unfairly, or alternatively, there is a situation or person that you are refusing to understand or see in an open-minded way. Broaden your horizons, don't live in a narrow world, eagle will give you the true sight you need to see clearly, and the strength to be seen clearly by others.

The wedge-tailed eagle flies into our life and suggests that ignorance and intolerance has found its way into it. We are misunderstanding a situation, or we are being misunderstood. If we let go of our own prejudices, we are less likely to be judged in a negative manner. If we live our lives openly and with pride instead of insecurity, others will eventually come to respect this. At the end of the day though, persecution occurs whether we like it or not, and like wedge-tailed eagle you must continue on in your life despite any ignorance being directed your way. Do not change for other people. Do not expect other people to change for you...read more>>>...

Lizard Totem Animal

When Lizard is one of your personal Animal Totems you have the power to regenerate that which has been lost.

You have a tendency to repeat some of life's cycles simply because your psyche loves to recreate the emotional attachments in any way it can because the emotions and the cycles are familiar ground.

You will be a master at facing your fears and moving between altered states of realty and “otherworlds”.

It is maybe time to undertake an internal audit and look at yourself as if you are in the third person. Are you being ruled by your ego or are you coming from your heart? Be mindful that the Ego is 'the master of deception', and you will have to peel back many layers of apparent self to arrive at the authentic self. Only then will you discover what your heart is really telling you.

Squirrel Medicine

Some Native American tribes consider all living beings as brothers and sisters that have much to teach, including squirrels. These small creatures teach us to work in harmony with the cycles of nature by conserving for the winter months during times when food is plentiful. In our modern world, squirrels remind us to set aside a portion of our most precious resources as an investment in the future. Though food and money certainly fall into this category, they are only some of the ways our energy is manifested. We can conserve this most valuable asset by being aware of the choices we make and choosing only those that nurture and sustain us. This extends to the natural resources of our planet as well, using what we need wisely with the future in mind.

Saving and conservation are not acts of fear but rather affirmations of abundance yet to come. Squirrels accept life's cycles, allowing them to face winters with the faith that spring will come again. Knowing that change is part of life, we can create a safe space, both spiritually and physically, that will support us in the present and sustain us in the future. This means not filling our space with things, or thoughts, that don't serve us. Without hoarding more than we need, we keep ourselves in the cyclical flow of life when we donate our unwanted items to someone who can use them best. This allows for more abundance to enter our lives, because even squirrels know a life of abundance involves more than just survival.

Squirrels use their quick, nervous energy to enjoy life's adventure. They are great communicators, and by helping each other watch for danger, they do not allow worry to drain them. Instead, they allow their curious nature to lead the way, staying alert to opportunities and learning as they play. Following the example set by our squirrel friends, we are reminded to enjoy the journey of life's cycles as we plan and prepare for a wonderful future, taking time to learn and play along the way.  (Daily OM)

Whale Medicine

Native Americans teach us that the Great Spirit speaks to us through our animal brethren. The whale is one animal that we can learn from. Whales have existed for over 50 million years and are considered to be record-keepers who possess knowledge of the past.

It is through the vibrations of their unique sound that they release this ancient wisdom to us. At the same time, their sound carries across such great distances that whales can enter the realm of the future where they can acquire knowledge of what is to come.

Every whale sings a song, and they never repeat the same pattern when they sing their song. Since whales must be conscious at all times in order to breathe, they cannot afford to fall into an unconscious state for too long. Never completely asleep, their brain has constant access to the collective unconscious where all answers lie. Whales float peacefully, secure in the ocean environment that supports and sustains them.

You can learn from the wisdom of whales by remembering to express what's uniquely yours. Each of us has a unique "song" or gift to offer the world. Your song is meant to be sung by you and heard by others. No one else can sing this song but you, and your song is medicine for the healing of the planet. Like whales, you can choose to access information about the future when you go into a meditative state. Whales teach us to look at where we came from and where we are headed. Knowing that our past helps shape our future, we can remember to make positive choices regarding our lives, the environment, and our world. Like whales, we can remember to stay awake and actively engaged in a universe that supports and sustains us. When we express ourselves and share our unique gifts, we add our wisdom and vibration to the planet. (Daily OM)

Totem Bird of the Week - 'Snakebird'

Snakebird (Australasian Darter) is the totem bird of the week for Monday 1st August to Sunday 7th 2022. It is associated with superstition and the endings of curses. An ideal totem bird for the coming week to aid those who are attempting to overcome their fears. With the continuing media fear mongering and fear narratives still happening, to lose that are hoping to link into the awakening and defeat their dweller on the threshold, need whatever help they can to achieve this.

Snakebird is an ideal talisman, a medicine that helps to keep the true self safe from harm during its journeys around the earth plane.
