The evidence is clear: Masks don't do anything

 We're being hit with the "Super Flu" (allegedly), and that means everyone wants us to wear masks again.

We went over this (a lot) in 2020. Then we went over it again in 2023. Masks don't work, they never worked, and - prior to 2020 - the academic literature was very clear on this.

In a 2016 literature review, infection control expert Dr John Hardie found [emphasis added]:
Between 2004 and 2016 at least a dozen research or review articles have been published on the inadequacies of face masks. All agree that the poor facial fit and limited filtration characteristics of face masks make them unable to prevent the wearer inhaling airborne particles. In their well-referenced 2011 article on respiratory protection for healthcare workers, Drs. Harriman and Brosseau conclude that, "facemasks will not protect against the inhalation of aerosols."

Health care workers have long relied heavily on surgical masks to provide protection against influenza and other infections. Yet there are no convincing scientific data that support the effectiveness of masks for respiratory protection.

Brace Yourselves Once Again for the Mask Madness

 “They’re here.”

Many will recall the little girl from the 1982 Poltergeist film, standing in front of the TV set, announcing the return of the malevolent spirits. These iconic words seem an appropriate way to announce the reappearance of the pro-mask ghouls who, over recent days, have been beseeching us all to wear a face covering to protect ourselves (and, of course, the NHS) from the consequences of the scary-sounding ‘super flu’.

It is the usual suspects who are screaming again. A senior NHS mandarin, Daniel Elkeles, has said that the UK faces “a tidal wave” of illness and that people should “get back into the habit” of mask-wearing. Pandemic industry technocrats at the UK Health Security Agency have repeated their highly dubious claims that strapping pieces of porous plastic across our airways can protect ourselves and others from those pesky microscopic pathogens. Most predictably of all, Professor Trish Greenhalgh has popped her pantyhose-clad head above her ideological trench to broadcast the benefits of multi-layered face coverings. And of course, the BBC has been keen to amplify this nonsense in its reporting of specific hospitals that are recommending masks for their staff and service users.

It hardly warrants repeating that the more robust scientific studies, together with the bulk of the real-world evidence, show that masks constitute an ineffectual viral barrier, and no amount of evidential cherry-picking and fantastical claims about ‘source control’ will change that conclusion. And how do the muzzle mafia manage to avoid any consideration of the multiplicity of significant harms associated with ubiquitous masking? Kemi Badenoch Urges “Common Sense” After No 10 Backs Calls for People to Wear Face Masks in Public Amid “Tidal Wave” of Superflu Cases

 As flu cases rise across the UK, Kemi Badenoch has dismissed calls for face masks to return. The Mail has more.

Daniel Elkeles, Chief Executive of NHS Providers, which represents trusts, said it was vital for workers to “stop the chances of you giving your virus to somebody else”.

He urged people to “get back into the habit” formed during the COVID-19 pandemic of wearing a mask when in public spaces – and even in the office if they have a cold.

Mandatory mask rules have been imposed over recent weeks in parts of hospitals in London, Lincolnshire, Shropshire and Oxfordshire amid alarm at infection numbers.

Downing Street said wearing a mask to prevent the spread of respiratory illness was “something people can consider” – but Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch branded them a “barrier to social interaction” and told the Government not to mandate them. …

A “drifted” influenza A(H3N2) strain, also now known as ‘subclade K’ or ‘super flu’, is dominating cases and health leaders have warned the flu season started “unusually early” this year – while virology experts are leading growing calls for mask wearing.

It comes after the UK Health Security Agency said last week that “masks continue to be a useful tool in limiting the spread of respiratory viruses in some situations”.

Mr Elkeles suggested today that the UK should get back to the habits of the pandemic-era, telling Times Radio: “When you were talking about anything like Covid, I think we need to get back into the habit that if you are coughing and sneezing, but you’re not unwell enough to not go to work, then you must wear a mask when you’re in public spaces, including on public transport to stop the chances of you giving your virus to somebody else.

UK mandates masks at some hospitals amidst claims of 'highest Covid spike since December 2023'

Face mask rules have been reintroduced at acute hospitals in Worcestershire after a rise in the number of patients developing Covid-19.

The policy applies to staff, patients and visitors, and covers all clinical areas at Redditch's Alexandra, Kidderminster, and the Worcestershire Royal hospitals.

In a statement, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAH) said the measure was "necessary to protect patients, their loved ones, and our hospital staff from the risk of infection".

The trust said it was currently treating 65 patients with Covid-19, the "highest number" since December 2023.

"This is the highest number of Covid positive inpatients seen since December 2023, the amount of time our Covid positive patients need to be in hospital is increasing suggesting that they are also more seriously ill," a spokesperson said.

The trust said the measures would be applied with immediate effect, and would stay in place until further notice.

COVID-19 mask mandates RETURN in U.S. hospitals amid spread of JN.1 variant

Hospitals across the U.S. are reinstating Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) mask mandates as the JN.1 variant becomes the dominant strain spreading throughout the country.

Medical facilities in some East Coast states – Wisconsin, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York and Delaware – have all reinstated face covering rules, mandating that people wear them in certain medical settings.

In one example, the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (NYC Health + Hospitals) announced the return of mask mandates at its hospitals. "Due to an uptick in respiratory illnesses like COVID-19, flu & RSV in our communities & our hospital, we must return to mandatory masking," the hospital operator wrote on X. "Please wear a mask when you visit us."

A separate NYC Health + Hospitals post also announced the return of "mandatory masking" at the Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. The mask mandate was brought about by "the prevalence of COVID-19 in our communities," the post added.

UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts also confirmed that mask mandates for staff members would return on Jan. 2 and last for a month. However, patients and visitors won't be mandated to mask up. A spokesperson for the hospital said after the month-long mandate, the necessity of masks in the hospital "will be reevaluated based on current trends."

The Mass General Brigham health system in the Bay State also announced the return of mask mandates, saying in a statement that the policies "are based on the current respiratory illness rates in our communities."....<<<Read More>>>....

N95 masks expose wearers to dangerous levels of toxic cancer- and seizure-causing compounds, study finds

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has re-shared a study emphasizing the fact that wearing an N95 face mask for any reason can expose wearers to dangerous levels of deadly chemicals.

Researchers from Jeonbuk National University in South Korea evaluated two different types of disposable medical-grade masks, as well as several types of reusable cotton masks, of the sort worn during the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) "pandemic." They discovered that the chemicals released by these masks occurred at levels eight times the recommended safety limit for toxic volatile organic compounds (TVOCs).

The inhalation of TVOCs is linked to health problems like headache and nausea in the short term, and organ damage and even cancer in the long term. The side effects of masking up are much worse than the diseases people who wear them aim to prevent, in other words...<<<Read More>>>....

After years-long pandemic mandates, German Health Ministry admit they have no idea whether or to what degree masks prevent SARS-2 infection at all

As on several prior occasions, liberal Bundestag vice-president Wolfgang Kubicki has used his parliamentary prerogatives to put a question to the German Health Ministry, and compel an answer. He asked what study results the Ministry could cite to demonstrate the efficacy of face masks. Lauterbach's crack team of virus understanders responded that, uh, it is a very complicated problem, and, in truth, well, actually, nobody really knows what effect masks really have. This is because "the effectiveness of individual measures ... cannot be examined in isolation, but only in conjunction with the other measures in place at any given time."

In other words: they got nothing. After years of making kids mask for hours on end in school, and imposing arbitrary but quite obnoxious mandates on airplanes and public transit and clinics, they have no idea whether it did anything, and no plans even to find out whether it did anything. Suddenly all that manic masking enthusiasm has just evaporated.

The response comes several weeks after Anthony Fauci's statement to the New York Times that "at the population level, masks work at the margins, maybe 10 percent." This is itself a baseless claim, but it's another important walk-back of the insane doctrines that medical bureaucrats have been spinning about masks since 2020.

You have to think of propaganda like a big machine. Somebody has to plug it in and it draws a lot of electricity, but with the right inputs it can dazzle a lot of people. The problem is that sooner or later the deception isn't worth anybody's time or energy anymore, and so somebody must also shut it off. It looks like nobody bothered with any kind of messaging exit strategy, and so we've entered a very weird period, wherein the public health leviathan has ceased rehearsing its crazy pandemic myths, leaving the ever-shrinking minority of deranged Covidians to their own devices....<<<Read More>>>....
