Law of Threefold Returns

The Law of Threefold Returns is a concept most often followed by Wiccans but some other traditions of witchcraft also observe it.

This law simply states a theory of how magickal energy functions in our universe:

Whatever energy you send out (good or bad),
returns to you times three.

This admonition has generated a great deal of support not to mention comparable criticism over the years. Those who support the concept feel it helps outsiders understand why witches who have the power to hex anyone who crosses them generally don't. It also prevents errant witches from committing harmful acts of which the witchcraft community does not approve.

A Word on "Psychic Attacks"

Anyone who has suffered the effects of a sudden, and unprecedented, psychic attack will know how powerless you feel during the attack. Often it is an unseen force at work, and you are subjected a particularly nasty vibrational energy.

It is not a pleasant experience, but it is something that has to be endured fearlessly. Fear will only magnify the energy that is being directed at you, and thus prolong the attack. The best thing to do is to remain calm and let the energy have its intended effect. Sadly, once an attack is underway, from experience, it can only stop when the servitor, or egregore, that has been created and sent your way, has run out of the energy it has been created from.

A psychic attack is a real occurrence, it is not something that is imagined. It is basically a menace in a magician's daily life, because there are always those out there who choose to misuse, and waste, their own life force on these rather disappointing pursuits.

Once the attack ends, just as suddenly as it began, it found there is always a feeling of peace and calmness immediately after the attack. By focusing, not on the negative aspect of the attack, but on the experience of the attack, it is possible to avoid suffering any long term traumas related to being violated in this way. Quite often it is not possible to know who is the creator of the servitor, or the initiator of the attack - perhaps we are not meant to be know. Perhaps it is not a human entity that has caused the attack, maybe it is something more sinister.

All we know is that the best way to avoid any similar attacks in the future is to mentally analyse the moments preceding the attack, for any clues as to recognisable trigger points or tell tale signs an attack is imminent. Perhaps it is then possible to have some kind of mental or psychic alarm bell to become activated next time a psychic attack occurs. Remember, however, psychic attacks will always dissipate as they only have a limited energy ... remember also that it is technically created from the life force/thought form force of the attacks initiator. If there are numerous attacks recognised as belonging to the same initiator ... it means it is literally 'killing' them to keep attacking you in this way. They will always come off worse than you if you calmly let the psychic attack run its course.

The Easiest Way to Break a Curse or Hex (and Keep It Broken!)

The Fall and The Further Fall of Blackpool Football Club

On 22nd February 2011 Blackpool Football Club were in 12th Place in the English Premier League. During their first season in the new English Premier League they did the double over Liverpool, they collected one win and one draw with Tottenham Hotspurs. They had taken the lead in both games against Manchester United. They had been the first team to beat Sunderland at home. 

Sadly they were relegated by ONE POINT at the end of the 2010 - 2011 season. They returned to the Championship for the 2011 - 2012 season. A season which culminated in a Wembley Playoff appearance against West Ham. Sadly they lost this game 2 v1 despite being the better team. This represented the last time Blackpool would contend for Premiership return status. For what followed was a classic fall from grace. In the 2012 - 2013 and 2013 - 2014 seasons they were very lucky to escape relegation.  

Then it got worse ... they began the 2014 - 2015 season with only EIGHT professional players. So began their worst start to any season ... they started bottom and remain bottom as of 8th March 2015. They are now guaranteed to be relegated to third tier English football. Which represents a return back to whence they came prior to the miraculous climb from the old English Football League to the TOP of the Premier League (They were top after their 4 v 0 win against Wigan on the opening day of the 2010 - 2011 season).

Some would say Blackpool Football Club are CURSED. With all the earnings gained from Premier League status (Around 110 Million Pounds) they should now be in a comfortable position. They are anything but comfortable ... 

The little thing that not many people know about, or don't remember, is the fact that the land which Blackpool Football Club is built on is old GYPSY LAND. It was said in the 1970's that the land had been cursed. It did indeed appear so with the lousy progress the club was making. In the 1980's my late mentor Paula Paradaema was called in to break the curse. It appeared to have worked as Blackpool were seen to experience the rise from applying for league re-election to the pinnacle of the Football League. Blackpool were flying ... 

Paula sadly died in June 2013 ...since then Blackpool Football Club began its true fall from grace ... it appears the curse has returned to the land on which the ground is built. Relegation to the new Second Division is now a certainty so in 2015 - 2016 its third tier football for the club. The way they have fallen it is a strong possibility they will be playing fourth tier football in the 2016 - 2017 season if the trend is not arrested.

Lady Bridget: A "hex" is a spell that is cast either on another person who has harmed someone, or on a situation that has harmed someone. Sometimes hexing the situation is preferable to naming names if you aren't positive you know the correct persons' identity. A hex is done on a person is without their permission, obviously, and so is considered imposing your will on another person, and therefore is unethical magick. 

History of Curses

The use of curse has been practiced by many cultures. The most universal method of laying on a curse is by effigy, which is an image or representation of the victim, or the person who is wished to be harmed. Waxed effigies were common in ancient India, Persia, Egypt, Africa and Europe, and currently are still used. Also, effigies can be made of clay, wood and stuffed cloth (poppets).

Often the effigy is marked or painted to looked like the victim. It is thought that the closer the effigy resembles the victim, the more the victim will suffer when the effigy is harmed or destroyed. The theory behind the harming or destroying an effigy to do harm to a victim is pure sympathetic magic. As the effigy is harmed, so the victim is harmed. Likewise, when the effigy is destroyed, so the victim dies.

The ancient Egyptians often used waxed figures of Apep, a monster who was the enemy of the sun. The magician would write Apep’s name in green ink on the effigy, wrapped it in new papyrus and throw it into a fire As it burned he kicked it with his left foot four times. The ashes of the effigy were mixed with excrement and thrown into another fire. The Egyptians also left waxed figures on tombs.

Like blessings, curses have universally been bought and sold throughout the centuries. With the exclusion of the neo-Pagan Witches, witches and sorcerers throughout history have performed both blessings and curses as a service to others because both are calling upon supernatural powers to effect a change. They have rendered these services to client for fees, or in carrying out judicial sentences. Plato mentioned in the Republic, "If anyone wishes to injure an enemy; for a small fee they (sorcerers) will bring harm on good or bad alike, binding the gods to serve their purposes by spells and curses."

Waxed figures were popularly used during the Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe by numerous witches. King James I, of England, described such activities in his book Daemonologie (1597):

"To some others at these times he [the Devil] teaheth how to make pictures of wax or clay. That by the roasting thereof, the persons that they beare the name of, may be continually melted or die away by continually sickness.

They can bewitch and take the life of men or women, by roasting of the pictures, as I spake of before, which likewise is verie possible to their Maister to performe, for although, as I said before, that instrument of waxe has no vertue in that turne doing, yet may he not very well, even by the same measure that his conjured slaves, melts that waxe in fire, may he not. I say at these times, subtily, as a spirite, so weaken and scatter the spirites of life of the patient, as may make him on the one part, for faintnesses, so sweate out the humour of his bodie. And on the other parte, for the not concurrence of these spirites, which causes his digestion, so debilitate his stomake, that this humour redicall continually sweating out on the one part, and no new good sucks being put in the place thereof, for lacke of digestion on the other, he shall at last vanish away, even as his picture will die in the fire."

Alternatives to melting of effigies have been to stick them with pins thorns or knives. Animal and human hearts have been used for substitutes. Hearts, animal corpses or objects which quickly decompose, such as eggs, are buried in the ground with spells that the victim will die as the objects deteriorate.

In Ireland "cursing stones" are stones that are stroked and turned to the left as the curse is recited. It has been frequently claimed that gems and crystals possess the power to hold curses. . The Hope Diamond purchased by Louis XVI from Tavernier in 1668, is thought to be cursed, because its owners have suffered illness, misfortune, and death. (Mystica)

The science of voodoo: When mind attacks body

Late one night in a small Alabama cemetery, Vance Vanders had a run-in with the local witch doctor, who wafted a bottle of unpleasant-smelling liquid in front of his face, and told him he was about to die and that no one could save him.

Back home, Vanders took to his bed and began to deteriorate. Some weeks later, emaciated and near death, he was admitted to the local hospital, where doctors were unable to find a cause for his symptoms or slow his decline. Only then did his wife tell one of the doctors, Drayton Doherty, of the hex.

Doherty thought long and hard. The next morning, he called Vanders's family to his bedside. He told them that the previous night he had lured the witch doctor back to the cemetery, where he had choked him against a tree until he explained how the curse worked. The medicine man had, he said, rubbed lizard eggs into Vanders's stomach, which had hatched inside his body. One reptile remained, which was eating Vanders from the inside out.

Doherty then summoned a nurse who had, by prior arrangement, filled a large syringe with a powerful emetic. With great ceremony, he inspected the instrument and injected its contents into Vanders' arm. A few minutes later, Vanders began to gag and vomit uncontrollably. In the midst of it all, unnoticed by everyone in the room, Doherty produced his pièce de résistance - a green lizard he had stashed in his black bag. "Look what has come out of you Vance," he cried. "The voodoo curse is lifted." Vanders did a double take, lurched backwards to the head of the bed, then drifted into a deep sleep. When he woke next day he was alert and ravenous. He quickly regained his strength and was discharged a week later.

The facts of this case from 80 years ago were corroborated by four medical professionals. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about it is that Vanders survived. There are numerous documented instances from many parts of the globe of people dying after being cursed.

With no medical records and no autopsy results, there's no way to be sure exactly how these people met their end. The common thread in these cases, however, is that a respected figure puts a curse on someone, perhaps by chanting or pointing a bone at them.
