In a world that bombards us incessantly with information and stimuli, carving out time for quiet contemplation becomes a revolutionary act.
Morning meditation serves as a sanctuary, a space where the ceaseless
noise of the external world fades, allowing you to reconnect with your
inner self. This sacred silence becomes the foundation for cultivating a
profound sense of peace that resonates throughout your day....<<<Read More>>>...

How can I sleep better? Get a good night’s rest with these sleep tips
The science on sleep is growing and information is more available now than ever. The average adult will spend 36 percent of his or her life asleep, with a purpose of rest, relaxation and restoration. The benefits are numerous. Sleep clears out the brain each night, helps us burn fat and repair muscle, assists production of human growth hormone and can help regulate blood levels of cortisol (the stress hormone).
We probably all know that relaxing before bed is a good idea.
Listening to soft music as opposed to heavy metal, reading a book
instead of watching an action thriller, or drinking non-caffeinated
herbal tea over a double espresso (caffeine blocks adenosine, a chemical
that makes you feel sleepy)....<<<Read More>>>>...

An Introduction To Psychic Breathing
There are some breathing exercises intended to absorb large amount of prana or Chi, open the chakras and develop psychic powers. You have to breath in rhythm, different books on the subject presents different sequence .
We advise to choose a rhythm that you can accommodate and follow. There are simple breathing and some are more complex the complex techniques are dangerous, you need someone experienced to do them with you.
Here is a not too complicated exercise, lying flat on the floor or bed, completely relaxed, with hands resting lightly over the Solar Plexus (over the pit of the stomach, where the ribs begin to separate), breathe rhythmically. After the rhythm is fully established, will that each inhalation will draw in an increased supply of prana or vital energy from the Universal supply, which will be taken up by the nervous system and stored in the Solar Plexus.
At each inhalation, will that the
prana or vital energy is being distributed all over the body, to every
organ and part; to every muscle, cell and atom; to nerve, artery and
vein; from the top of your head to the soles of your feet; invigorating,
strengthening and stimulating every nerve; recharging every nerve
centre; sending energy, force and strength all over the system. While
exercising the will, try to form a mental picture of the in rushing
prana, coming in through the lungs and being taken up at once by the
Solar Plexus, then with the exhaling effort, being sent to all parts of
the system, down to the finger tips and down to the toes. It is not
necessary to use the Will with an effort.
Simply commanding that
which you wish to produce and then making the mental picture of it is
all that is necessary. Calm command with the mental picture is far
better then forcible willing, which only dissipates force needlessly.
The above exercise is most helpful and greatly refreshes and strengthens
the nervous system and produces a restful feeling all over the body. It
is especially beneficial in cases where one is tired or feels a lack of
energy. (Source)

The Beauty of Solitude and The Power of Magic Elixir
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s not make the mistake of putting the cart in front of the horse. In order to discover magic elixir, one must first dare solitude and meditation. This requires a Hero’s Journey of sorts: a separation phase, an initiation phase, and a return phase. Let’s break it down.
Sometimes the only way to realize that life is beautiful is to look at it in a beautiful way. This is not a plea for donning rose-colored glasses. Not at all. It is an appeal to leave the all-too-familiar rust, dust, dullness, naivete, softness, and fragility of the comfort zone. It’s a call to beauty, the beauty of adventure. The beauty of living between worlds and gaining the wherewithal to migrate back and forth....<<<Read More>>>...

A Breathing Practice to Calm Your Mind
The technique is called Nadi Shodhana Pranayama, or alternate nostril breathing. In Sanskrit, the word “Nadi” means channel or flow, the word “Shodhana” means clarifying or purifying, and “Pranayama” means to take control of one’s breath.
During this practice, you’ll experience a sense of peace almost immediately. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Studies indicate that, over time, it can improve cardiovascular health and lung function, as it balances your heart rate. This in turn reduces your stress, which we know is good for overall physical and mental health. There is also strong evidence that alternate nostril breathing improves brain function.
Nadi Shodhana Pranayama has a long history in yoga and ayurvedic medicine as a reliable way to achieve mental, physical, and emotional balance.
For me, it’s a go-to when I’m stressed.
And it’s safe for just about anyone.
Unless you have a serious cardiovascular condition like COPD or asthma, you can do it right now with no fear. (And if you do have a condition, it’s probably still safe, but ask your doctor first.)
What have you got to lose? Here’s how to do it....<<<Read More>>>....

Practicing Gratitude During COVID-19 Pandemic
Paradoxically, suffering can yield a grateful heart, if approached with care and mindfulness. As reported by CNN Health:
“In his 1994 book, ‘A Whole New Life,’ Duke University English professor Reynolds Price describes how his battle with a spinal cord tumor that left him partially paralyzed also taught him a great deal about what it means to really live.
After surgery, Price describes ‘a kind of stunned beatitude.’ With time, though diminished in many ways by his tumor and its treatment, he learns to pay closer attention to the world around him and those who populate it
A brush with death can open our eyes. Some of us emerge with a deepened appreciation for the preciousness of each day, a clearer sense of our real priorities and a renewed commitment to celebrating life. In short, we can become more grateful, and more alive, than ever.”
Enhancing your well-being can be as simple as taking some time each day to reflect on what you’re thankful for. A simple and proven way of doing this is to keep a gratitude journal.4 Gratitude is neurally linked with happiness. Strengthen one and you automatically boost the other.
In one study,5 participants who kept a gratitude diary and reflected on what they were grateful for just four times a week for three weeks improved their depression, stress and happiness scores. In another study, people who kept a gratitude journal reported exercising more and had fewer visits to the doctor.6,7 Indeed, there’s an entire field of study looking at the health benefits of gratitude....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Neuroscience Learns What Buddhism Has Known For Ages: Mindfulness
According to Dr. Kabat-Zin, by paying attention in a certain way, we can switch off our so-called autopilot mode, in which we often go through life unaware of what’s happening within and around us. Living on autopilot not only means that we miss out on a lot of the richness of life, but we are also more likely to be stressed. Stress and autopilot are linked because when we are on autopilot, we are much more likely to act out unhelpful or even damaging patterns of behaviour. In other words, we react instead of respond to challenging experiences in our life. Mindfulness helps us to become aware of these habitual patterns and gives us a choice to change how we relate to challenging experiences. It’s not about taking stress away or hoping to live a life without any stress, but rather fundamentally changing how we relate to the things we experience.
On the other hand, many of us spend much of our time living in our heads. We live in a kind of virtual reality consisting of thoughts and inner dialogue, and thoughts tend to relate either to the past or to the future. Mindfulness helps us to learn how to return to the present and to what’s actually happening rather than our perceptions of what’s happening, which are often inaccurate. We practice it by cultivating greater somatic awareness — that is, awareness of the body, because the body is always in the present moment....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Silent Witness Contemplation – A Simple Tool for a More Mindful You
It is quite frightening, when you think you’ve driven without consciously being at the wheel! Periodic blanks of unconsciousness begin very early in life.
Unless consciously checked, these grey periods of subconscious behaviour become a way of life.
It’s an easy technique to get started with, and you can try it out with just a few spare minutes a day....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...
How To Stay Present & Calm Throughout The Day
Perhaps you’re holding your breath in some ways and you don’t even know it?
Maybe you feel a clenched tummy from time to time and have tricky digestion. You might notice yourself rushing through life, tasks, wanting to get to the next thing.
You may not be paying full attention to your life and everything feels like autopilot.
If this is the case, you’re not alone.
This is a very calm state of being for most people in highly developed countries who are living the ‘average everyday life.’ You wake up, go to your job, work all day, come home and then either veg out or spend time with family and go to sleep.
This is the ‘modern life’ that we have accepted as ‘ a good life’ and yet almost every aspect of it presents a challenge to our health and well being. But, at this time, money is required to live our lives, and so we must play within this system in some way or another as we actively change it....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Navel Meditation
Navel meditation, a creation of the Taoist tradition and the oldest form of meditation recognized in China and India, is a simple practice suitable for those experienced in the art of meditation, yet it is also a wonderful introductory meditation for novices.
It utilizes the natural rhythms of the breath and the regular movement of the abdomen as a means to focus awareness and rid oneself of extraneous thoughts. As you concentrate on the breath, the chaos within reveals itself, allowing you to gently train your mind to accept stillness as its natural state.
To begin, assume a comfortable and natural seated position--either cross-legged on a cushion on the floor or on a chair with your legs facing forward. Maintaining an upright, balanced posture will ensure that you are physically centered and prevent fatigue. Close your eyes and relax your body gradually, starting at the toes and ending at the crown of the head....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

What Is Body Scan Meditation and How Can It Help You Relax?
The definition of “body scan” gives away how it works: You “scan” your body sequentially by focusing on individual parts and paying attention to how they feel.
Some people like to simply become aware of bodily sensations, while others prefer to relax each part of the body sequentially. In some versions of body scan meditation, you tighten muscles in different parts of the body and then relax them. Do what works for you! The amount of time you spend on a body scan is also up to you. You can spend as little or as much as you want....<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Have You Ever Asked Yourself, “How Did I Get To Where I am In Life?”
For most people, there comes a time when we are forced to take inventory of our life. This usually occurs when we have become so uncomfortable in our own skin that it is necessary for a change; yet at the same time, we fear that change even though deep down we know it will save our life! On top of that, we feel that our life has become so confusing that we have no idea how to fix it or where to even begin!
“Who is this person?”… “Who am I?”
But as you know, finding answers to questions such as these isn’t so easy. And for me, this inner sense of unrest eventually manifested into full-blown anxiety—a major red flag exhibiting the words “Change your life NOW”!...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

Caught the Coronavirus Blues? Research Shows that Music Medicine is a Powerful Antidote
It’s natural to have low spirits (the blues) and to feel fear when we sense that our security or way of life may be threatened. Fear is Nature’s way of urging us to take action and, fortunately, Nature has evolved a clever system that engages automatically within us to help save us from threats, as I will soon explain.
There’s just one little stumbling block: the system was designed only for acute fear; Nature, it seems, didn’t anticipate chronic fear. The corona virus situation is not the stereotypical saber-tooth tiger from which we can quickly run and hide. We can’t run or hide from a virus, or protect ourselves from the associated socio-economic repercussions. And while watching or reading the news keeps us informed of the worldwide crisis, it is also likely to keep us in fear of the invisible viral threat, day after day, week after week.
Such chronic fear is potentially harmful because it weakens our immune system (aside from many other negative bodily effects), rendering us less able to vanquish viruses or other pathogens.
But fortunately, an antidote exists that uses another of Nature’s clever systems, one that banishes low spirits and fear and boosts our immune system. It’s drug free, has no known side effects, and can’t be overdosed...<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...

5 Types of Breathwork to Aid Spiritual Growth
As one of the few functions in the human body that is both conscious and unconscious, the breath is a conduit of life. It is the physical manifestation of your chi (qi), prana, or lifeforce energy. And you do it 23,000 times a day.
Most of all, your breath is always there for you, 24/7, until the day you die. It is there not only to help animate your body, but also to help it heal, purge old energy and toxins, and invite in whatever is new and invigorating.
Your breath is your most ancient friend and it is always there to call upon when you need help.
Isn’t that beautiful? Isn’t that comforting?
Whenever you need a burst of fresh energy, breathe. Whenever you need to process heavy emotions, breathe. Whenever you need to calm down, breathe.
You have an anchor, a doorway into immediate meditation with you wherever you go and whatever you do – and that’s what’s so bewitching about breathwork. Breathwork simply takes this natural, primordial bodily function and makes a conscious practice out of it. In this article, I’m going to explore a few different varieties of breathwork with you – and they all beautifully complement the inner work practices of self-love, inner child work, and shadow work
What is Breathwork?
Breathwork, while ancient, is a term that first originated in the 1970’s and refers to the practice of consciously directing the breath. The goal of breathwork is to positively alter the body, mind, heart, or spirit, and produce therapeutic inner transformation. There are numerous forms of breathwork in existence today...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>....

How to Stop Yourself in the Middle of an Overreaction
Perhaps it’s your child’s first week of online school, and you receive an email from their teacher expressing concern that your child is skipping out on classes. You see red, and if steam could pour from a human’s ears cartoon-style, you’d be a teakettle ready to blow. You’re about to give junior a harsh talking to about the value of learning responsibility.
Slow down. Words can sting, so before you utter something that can crush your child’s delicate spirit, get a handle on your emotions. Now, more than ever, we need to learn how to handle our emotions and stop ourselves from stressing out, overreacting and flying off the handle at those we love — especially if you might be in close quarters with your family or roommates indefinitely!
You can learn to stop yourself in the middle of an overreaction by practicing a few simple tips...<<<Read The Full Article Here>>>...
