New Zealand: Any method to ban under-16s from social media will drift into digital IDs for everyone

 Initially, as part of the proposed social media ban on under-16s, the New Zealand government considered a restriction or outright ban on using VPNs.

The Government has since backed down on VPNs but the central issue remains: any ban strong enough to stop determined teenagers will almost certainly require intrusive checks on adults.

Using age verification, for example, to limit under-16s access to online content will always drift into digital IDs for everyone and state control over the internet.

The proposed under-16 social media ban is being sold as child protection. That is the attractive part of the policy. Most parents know smartphones and social media can be harmful, addictive and corrosive for young people. But the political danger is that a policy aimed at children may become a system of online control for everyone.

The Post initially reported that the government was considering a VPN ban or restrictions as part of the policy work. National’s Education Minister Erica Stanford has since said she is not pursuing VPN restrictions, after ACT made clear it would block any such move.

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It encrypts a user’s internet connection and can make their device appear to be accessing the internet from another location.

ACT leader David Seymour took to X to say that “the government” is not pursuing such a thing. He said National MPs had been keen on a VPN ban at select committee, while Stanford has been developing proposals to ban under-16s from social media.

New Zealand: Biotechnology experiments should be outlawed

The New Zealand government is considering a Gene Technology Bill that would liberalise genetic modification regulations. All political parties, including NZ First, agree that regulations on genetic modification should be liberalised even if they disapprove of the current draft Bill.

Dr. Guy Hatchard says that instead of liberalising regulations, stricter controls on genetic modification are needed; biotechnology experiments should be outlawed entirely.

NZ First has admitted it voted to progress an amended version of the Gene Technology Bill out of the select committee stage and return it to the whole house for consideration. RNZ published an article entitled ‘NZ First to withhold support for Gene Tech bill unless major changes are made’. Despite their opposition to the current draft, NZ First also affirmed their support for a compromise version of the Bill, saying “New Zealand First is not against a responsible, safe and pragmatic pathway to genetic modification technology utilisation.”

The Labour Party is also opposed to the Bill in its current form, but like NZ First offers its “broad agreement that New Zealand’s gene technology regulations are outdated and in need of modernisation.”

New Zealand’s government gives the green light for weight loss injections despite serious health risks reported in the UK and the US

 A 2025 study conducted at Washington University found a doubled risk of pancreatitis, an 11% increase in the risk of arthritis, and elevated risks of low blood pressure and serious kidney disease among 215,000 users of injectable obesity drugs such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro.

In the UK at the beginning of this year, it was reported that the number of people who had been hospitalised due to side effects of the injectable weight loss drugs had skyrocketed.

If the Gene Technology Bill is passed, how many additional doctors will New Zealand need?

 Currently, there are 19,350 doctors in New Zealand; that’s one for every 264 people. According to Hon. Judith Collins, New Zealand’s Minister for Business Innovation and Enterprise (“MBIE”), New Zealanders are all going to live longer and enjoy better health as a result of the massive deregulation contained in the Gene Technology Bill (“the Bill”).

Gene technology in our healthcare system is going to require some extra highly skilled doctors, but how many and how much will it cost us?

High-profile billionaire biohacker Bryan Johnson, 47, boasts that he only ages 8 months every year. So that is something we could all aim for. Bryan spends just $2 million a year on his health, he has 30 doctors and recently increased his pill intake to 91 pills a day.

So, the aspirational ratio is about 30 doctors for every person. We could probably accept a few less than that, but we might not live quite as long as Bryan. Probably best to go by trial and error. Start with a modest 10 doctors per person and see how long we can all live. A lot of farmers will need to retrain and we might need to import more food. Most people would be doctors.

Joking apart, gene technology is insatiable when it comes to doctors and costs. The astronomical salaries of experts, expensive equipment, CRISPR patent fees and the constant need for testing associated with personalised genetic therapies all add up. If you think that the $10,000 estimate your builder gave you for a veranda renovation is too high, you might baulk at the multimillion-dollar costs for your individual gene renovation.

But don’t worry, the government is determined to foot the Bill on our behalf. A clause in the Bill requires that New Zealand automatically adopt any old gene technology as long as any other two countries have approved it. If it all works out, it is going to be like new dance moves in the 1980s, everyone will be doing it.

Prescience: 161 years ago, a New Zealand sheep farmer predicted AI doom

 While worrying about AI takeover might seem like a modern idea that sprung from War Games or The Terminator, it turns out that a similar concern about machine dominance dates back to the time of the American Civil War, albeit from an English sheep farmer living in New Zealand. Theoretically, Abraham Lincoln could have read about AI takeover during his lifetime.

On June 13, 1863, a letter published in The Press newspaper of Christchurch warned about the potential dangers of mechanical evolution and called for the destruction of machines, foreshadowing the development of what we now call artificial intelligence — and the backlash against it from people who fear it may threaten humanity with extinction. It presented what may be the first published argument for stopping technological progress to prevent machines from dominating humanity.

Titled "Darwin among the Machines," the letter recently popped up again on social media thanks to Peter Wildeford of the Institute for AI Policy and Strategy. The author of the letter, Samuel Butler, submitted it under the pseudonym Cellarius, but later came to publicly embrace his position. The letter drew direct parallels between Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and the rapid development of machinery, suggesting that machines could evolve consciousness and eventually supplant humans as Earth's dominant species.

Because of the “success” of covid, New Zealand has introduced a Gene Technology Bill

 The dream of biotechnology, which promised a new age of health and human achievement, has become a nightmare, with its success stories being largely myths and its main beneficiaries being transnational corporations.

The covid-19 pandemic is viewed as the greatest success story of biotechnology, but it has also highlighted the risks and dangers of the industry, with the development of a deadly disease and a vaccine that has harmed many people.

This covid “success” has led to the New Zealand government introducing the Gene Technology Bill, which contains permissive legislation that favours transnational corporations and ignores public safety and environmental concerns.

The bill’s introduction is believed to be driven by trade negotiations with the US, which wants New Zealand to deregulate biotechnology to pave the way for similar deregulation in Europe.

Meanwhile, Australia already has a Gene Technology Regulator who has announced a project that is proposing to make gene-altered versions of the flu and then test out various genetic drugs and/or vaccines on human volunteers.

If you ask Google what are the biotechnology success stories, it comes up with slim pickings.

First up is a list of patented genetically engineered crops like cotton, soya and corn. These types are paired with proprietary pesticide products.

A March 2023 report from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (“AMS”) says a consolidation trend within the agricultural seed industry began when the first genetically engineered traits were introduced to the market in the early 1990s. Since then, more than 200 US seed companies have been acquired or gone out of business. The result is a concentration of market share among four seed companies.

A June 2023 report by the USDA Economic Research Service (“ERS”) found that when combined, AgReliant, Bayer, Corteva and Syngenta accounted for 83% of corn seed sales and 78% of soyabean seed sales in the United States from 2018 to 2020. The trend is continuing, Bayer has just announced the consolidation of a further 10 regional seed brands in 2025.

This so-called success story of biotechnology is not about more nutritious strains, increased yields, etc., these largely remain the stuff of myth. It is about the profits of transnational corporations that control a concentration of intellectual property (“IP”) in the form of patented genetics and traits. This has left farmers trapped in an unsustainable cycle of heightened input costs and depressed commodity prices. This is not a route for New Zealand farming to travel. Much of the allure of New Zealand produce is our pristine shores and clean green image. The genetically engineered (“GE”) route leads to corporate slavery, trade barriers, public rejection and rock bottom prices.

Governments don’t mind exposing people to health risks as long as it appears they are doing something about climate change (even if they aren’t)

New Zealand’s Environment Protection Authority gave the green light to register Bovaer in August 2023, the first step to approving its use in the country. Although any current New Zealand use is not documented, if biotechnology deregulation goes ahead, it is unclear if the public will ever be allowed to know about it.

In the following article, citing the public outcry about its use in a trial in the UK, Dr. Guy Hatchard highlights the potential harms and the unknown harms for consumers of products from animals who have been fed the chemical.

The New Zealand Government is deregulating biotechnology. As we have previously reported, the public relations logic (if you can call it that) underpinning their bold (idiotic?) move says: 

 - Biotechnology is generally safe, so testing may be minimal or not required.
- There is no need to label gene-altered foods (presumably because the US doesn’t).
- Biotech technology measures aimed (rather inaccurately) at reducing climate change will be welcomed by the public here and overseas.
- Kiwi biotech will produce an economic miracle.

New Zealand: New FOI data shows 188% in deaths of children after the rollout of the covid “vaccine”

 An OIA HNZ00064867 released 22 October 2024 under freedom of information by Health New Zealand lists the number of people in 2021 and 2022 who died within 93 days (3 months) of receiving a Pfizer mRNA covid-19 vaccine, broken down by age.

During this 2021/22 period, some 12 million doses of covid-19 vaccines were administered to the New Zealand population of 5 million. Official figures have already revealed that all-cause mortality rose in 2021 in tandem with the covid-19 vaccination program despite the absence of covid-19 infection and flu which was mostly due to New Zealand border closures.

In 2022 New Zealand all-cause deaths were 38,574 (7.4 deaths/1000 population) and in 2019 they were 34,260 (6.9 deaths/1000 population). This is an increase of 7.8%. This figure is concerning and we have previously discussed the implications at length.

The newly released OIA data allows us to find out if the excess mortality rate of any age bracket has been disproportionately affected in the 3 months following covid-19 vaccination during 2021 and 2022.

Before New Zealand’s covid vaccine rollout, 2,000 people attended A&E for chest pains in a year – now it is more than 30,000

 A response to a freedom of information request, which in New Zealand is called an Official Information Act (“OIA”) request, showing chest pain and cardiac incidences in younger people has brought mixed responses from New Zealanders, most displaying an underlying sense of incredulity.

“Making sense of the scale of the disaster is hard,” Dr. Guy Hatchard says. But “the OIA data for chest pain and cardiac events is not an isolated statistic.”

A follow-up survey of New Zealanders who had been diagnosed with mRNA vaccine-induced myopericarditis was conducted by Health New Zealand and, after delaying publishing the survey results for two years, the results were published this month.

The lack of information has had the effect of myopericarditis being greatly underdiagnosed or a diagnosis and clinical response delayed, even in some cases for years. Yet, this information deficit continues to this day.

New Zealand government lies about the serious risks associated with biotechnology used in foods and medicines

New Zealand’s new PANDEMIC PLAN will bring martial law, forced vaccination

New Zealand covid vaccine deaths: We have a deadly plague of serial killers in our midst

 A New Zealand coroner has ruled that a man’s vaccine-induced death could have been prevented if he had been informed about the risks before consenting to having the covid mRNA injection.

It highlights the failures of health professionals and institutions to give the public sufficient information so people can consent to the injections based on an informed decision.

New Zealand Whistleblower Reveals Shocking Number of Covid Vaccine Deaths

 An administrator overseeing New Zealand’s Covid vaccine database has come forward as a whistleblower and is disclosing that a concerning proportion of individuals who received the Covid vaccine died shortly afterward.

A breakdown of the data based on vaccine batches was provided by the whistleblower. He claims that in the first batch, consisting of 711 vaccinated individuals, 152, or 21 percent, died soon after. Notably, the majority of the vaccine batches were Pfizer doses, he says.

Further analysis by the whistleblower extended to those administering the shots and the recipients, revealing alarming figures.

One vaccinator administered shots to 621 individuals, and of those, 104, or 17 percent, died, as per the whistleblower’s information.

Expressing deep concern, “This should never happen,” he said, adding that the percentage who die from what would be a normal vaccination administration would be 0.75 percent.

The incoming New Zealand parliament needs to be different to the last one

 Among the most pressing tasks facing the government is to find out what happened during the last three years. The outgoing parliament has been secretive in the extreme to our detriment. Many of our politicians have been re-elected. We are a trusting nation and this trust has been exploited to our cost. It will not be possible to find a safe way ahead until the extent of dissimulation is fathomed and corrected.

Our health service has fallen into disrepair and disarray as unprecedented ill health has affected the nation. As we have been reporting with official figures, we currently have the third-highest excess death rate in the OECD. Rates of hospitalisation for heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, reproductive disease, cancers, and inflammatory illness have soared. The number of people unable to work through disability has similarly ballooned. A mental health crisis is unfolding.

Yet we have been left in the dark about the true extent of these problems and their causes. Throughout the last three years, the health landscape has been dominated by the pandemic and the government’s response to it. Pandemic policy has enjoyed cross-party support, but a comprehensive assessment of policy outcomes for health is missing.

New Zealand Minister Slammed After Blaming ‘White Cis Men’ For Violence

 For those who aren’t up on the thesaurus of gender identity politics, ‘cis’ is short for ‘cisgender’ – or people whose ‘gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth’ – or 99% of the population.

Minister Marama Davidson is refusing to publicly apologize for her comments, which have received at least 90 complaints. She has allegedly apologized in private to Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, according to news.com.au.
