Material World

Matt and I set our on our journey to the Southern Hemisphere, NZ in 2002. Been a couple of times before, knew partly what to expect.
Things haven't turned out quite as planned, but then again, were they meant to? Maybe this was the plan? The journey to oneself.
We look back on the material world of our friends back in the northern hemipshere, more or less stuck in the same routine, all surrounded by material possessions, their pride and joy is loving what they own. But in truth, what do they own? None can move on from dire relationships, why? Because it provides them with financial security but in truth nothing else.
Its sad, they dont know any other way, dont know the real value of life.
Matt & I have suffered financially, the kids too, but at the end of it, we have found what really matters the most and that is to love and be loved. Money and material possessions mean nothing without it. We are glad to have found it, but sad our friends back in the North have refused to see it.
Maybe its our task to show them they way? Who knows?
