The trickle of running water; a healing sound
A gentle slope leads to a pebble shore line
Warm sunlight percolates through a cover of tall trees
Loud birdsong fills the air close by, a spirit soaring with the energies of life
Here, in this woodland, it feels so good to be alive ...
Crystal clear waters are cool to the touch
Revitalising tired muscles; the weary trek to this isolated place well worth while
A gaze across the glade spies a water fall, bubbling and foaming
the water’s spray painted with rainbow’s light; an enchanter’s spell
Rocks in the pool below worn smooth by the fall of the cool, clear waters ...
A steep path meanders down through the ancient glacial boulders
Mighty stones tossed on a whim by forgotten giants
The air is cooler here out of the gaze of the summer sunlight
Towards the snaking river the rock strewn path leads
Away from the splendour of the hidden water’s fall
Onward then into the profusion of trees at the head of the valley
A cool place; a place of wonder untouched by the whims of man
Unchecked, the undergrowth grows wild and unruly
Difficult to pass through where the path ends and the wilderness resumes
And the cool air here hints that within the forest depths no sun light ever penetrates
And within this place magic is alive and is on the air
Elementals stalk these glades, ready to ward off the unwary traveller
This is a mighty place; tall trees stand proud
Their branches straight and broad
There is no sound here; the air is still
and the spirit of man is un-nerved
for this ground is an ancient place
One which lives outside of the laws of man
And this place is the destination for the traveller
His eyes ready to take in the sights of here
His senses ready to absorb the energies which caress them
and one thing is sure, the human traveller who visits here
will not be the same soul who began this trek
The enchantment of here will have taken an effect for sure ...
