The Beggar walks slowly
gazing skyward
for sight of the ravens two
It is their direction he seeks
for a dirt track splits and is now two
Ahead the future is blank
a road leads to white
billowing mists of time
the other into darkness
passage by torchlight slow
The Beggar is weary
his passage cross the water
ne’er free from storm
nor travel through endless night
the unknowing
the eternity
the despair.
Under the raven’s wing
the Beggar feels most secure
the talisman of Elksedge freely given
helps him connect
to the power of the one
His memory swings to the path ahead
and the tactics he must decide
the path he must walk
the place he must live
He sighs as there are no answers here ........
Two paths but which one?
To go from death to life
or to wander the mazes of Hades
to venture to where it leads?
