Defining 'Spiritual'

I recently added a status on Facebook asking ... "In as few words as possible, can anyone give their understanding of the word 'spiritual' ... it means different things to different people .......?" Being spiritual doesn't necessarily mean the same thing for one person as it does another ... it is a personal thing, hence why I was interested to find out what other people understood spiritual as and the reason why I added the status on Facebook. The comments I received back included:

"faith, minus religion";

"An inner belief system that we believe in, are constantly critiqueing and work on until the day we pass and is eternal";

"the higher self of all.";

"Inner knowing; tapping into and having a relationship with, the Divine Self; constantly questioning':

"Using the Universal Energy that connects all - living, passed, animal, trees, including things made from them ie leather, furniture, wool, cotton, and things that have had that energy imprinted on it as well ....";

"To be as one with yourself and higher source, we are connected to everything and everyone that exists and are part of the entire universal knowledge. It is to be aware and to act accordingly also, that our actions our words and thoughts affect more than ourselves";

"Being spiritual to me is living from the inside out, listening to my own, inner guidance feeling connected to all living things, having respect for the circle of life. Seeing that we are all one, non better than the other";

 "One-ness!";

"That which leads to non-suffering, and knowing why.";

"Of the spirit."

Many thanks to everyone who made these comments, and contributed to this insight ...
