New evidence reveals a 25,000-year-old center of magic, healing and ritual in Australia

 For at least 25,000 years, people entered Cloggs Cave carrying plants.

They did not appear to bring the grasses solely for food, warmth or ordinary domestic work. Instead, new microscopic evidence suggests that whole plants were deliberately gathered, transported into the secluded cave and burned in repeated, low-temperature fires — activities that strengthen the interpretation of Cloggs Cave as a place reserved for ritual specialists, healing practices and spiritual power.

Located in GunaiKurnai Country in southeastern Australia, Cloggs Cave preserves one of the continent's longest archaeological records of relationships between people and plants. A new study published in Frontiers in Environmental Archaeology examined phytoliths — microscopic silica structures formed inside plants — preserved in deposits spanning approximately 25,000 years.

An unknown species of humans lived in America 130,000 years ago

 The conventional view is that the first humans arrived in America about 15,000 years ago, crossing from Asia via a land bridge that existed where the Bering Strait is now.

However, some recent evidence suggests that an unknown human species may have lived in California about 130,000 years ago. In 1992, while repairing a freeway in Southern California, workers found a large collection of ancient bones, including those of mastodons, prehistoric relatives of mammoths.

This site, which was named Cerutti Mastodon, was investigated by archaeologists and excavated. In 2017, they analyzed the bones of a mastodon that showed signs of being “processed” with tools. Next to these bones, they found stone artifacts that had been shaped by human hands, such as hammerstones and anvils.

Archaeologists have long recognized that the ancient Native Americans were skilled at hunting mastodons. But previous finds were dated to 15,000 years ago, and these were dated to about 130,000 years ago!...<<<Read More>>>...

The origins of the oversized diamond are not known with any certainty, but it is thought that the gem was cut from an even larger diamond in the Golconda mines of India, and there is a brief reference to the Hope Diamond being in the possession of King Louis XIV in the 18th century.

It was later lost in the turmoil of the French Revolution. MET OFFICE SHOCK: UK Temperature Network Goes From Bad to Even Worse in Just 18 Months

In March 2024 the Daily Sceptic shocked the science and political world by disclosing that nearly 80% of the UK Met Office’s temperature measuring sites were so poorly located that potential ‘uncertainties’ could corrupt the readings by a numbers of degrees of centigrade. 

World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Classes 4 and 5 in its CIMO scale come with ‘uncertainties’ up to 2°C and 5°C respectively, and a Freedom of Information (FOI) request found that 77.9% of its sites were in these two ‘junk’ categories. It should have been a wake-up call demanding immediate improvement of the nationwide network, not least because the Met Office frequently catastrophises its temperature figures in the interest of promoting the Net Zero fantasy. 

Alas, no. A new FOI has found that the Classes 4 and 5 junk sites have increased significantly over the last 18 months and now total an appalling 80.6% of the entire network. Pristine Class 1 sites – which measure a credible ambient air temperature with little chance of unnatural heat corruption – are just 4.9% of the total, having fallen in number in this short period from 24 to 19....<<<Read More>>>...

10,000 Years Ago In India They Talked About Alien Abductions

The Department of Archeology in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh decided to seek help from the American and Indian aerospace agencies.

Archaeologists turned to them in order to determine the origin of the rather strange rock paintings discovered in the Bastar tribal region. This is reported by the Indian edition of The Times of India, which published photographs of the find.

The researchers were most surprised that the drawings found in various caves in the region have much in common with the appearance attributed to aliens in science fiction or in the stories of eyewitnesses who claim to have seen them....<<<Read More>>>... 

 

Ötzi the Iceman and his neighbors had totally different ancestries, ancient DNA study finds

A study of prehistoric skeletons from the Italian Alps shows that society may have been organized around fathers and that Ötzi the Iceman had a unique family lineage.

A new analysis of ancient DNA from 15 people who lived in the Italian Alps around the same time as Ötzi the Iceman shows that Ötzi's ancestry was decidedly different from his neighbors'.

"We analysed an additional 15 Copper Age individuals and they have the same genetic structure as the Iceman," Valentina Coia, a researcher at the Institute for Mummy Studies in Bolzano, Italy, told Live Science in an email. But when looking more closely at the DNA to understand lineages, "we were able to compare the results with those of the Iceman and found that it differs from the other Alpine samples in the area."...<<<Read More>>>...

The Britons responsible for the building of the iconic Stonehenge  were probably black, a study has suggested. 

Data from 348 ancient genomes gathered from across Eurasia have been reconstructed by scientists at the University of Ferrara in Italy which show almost all Europeans had dark skin until around 3,000 years ago. 

With Stonehenge, just outside the town of Glastonbury (REALLY?), being constructed around 5,000 years ago, experts have said we can assume the builders had dark skin. 

ntil around 1,700 years ago, the majority of Europeans had dark skin, the authors of the study say, adding that most of the ancient Greeks and Romans, and the Britons who built Stonehenge, had dark skin, eyes and hair. 

The study confirms that the shift to lighter skin, thanks to the movement of people to higher latitudes and more vitamin D intake as a result, was slower than previously thought. 

Experts are still unsure why the change from darker to light skin was so slow.
