Boris insists AstraZeneca jab is safe as more countries suspend it – but does the data support this claim?

[The Daily Expose]:The Netherlands and Germany have joined the growing list of countries that have now suspended the use of the Oxford / Astrazeneca vaccine due to fears over it causing serious adverse reactions. But with MHRA data showing that over 8.9 million doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine have been administered in the UK as of the 29th February, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has insisted it is still safe to receive the Oxford jab.

But does the actual data support his claim?

France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands have joined Ireland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland have all paused the roll-out of the Astrazeneca jab after the national regulator advised that reports of blood clots should be investigated.

A 60-year old Danish woman who died of a blood clot after receiving Astrazeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine had “highly unusual” symptoms, according to the Danish Medicines Agency. The woman had a low number of blood platelets and clots in small and large vessels, as well as bleeding.

Similar cases have also been found in Norway and in the European Medicines Agency’s database of drug side effects.

“It was an unusual course of illness around the death that made the Danish Medicines Agency react,” it said in a statement late on Sunday.

Norway said on Saturday that three people, all under the age of 50, who had received the Astrazeneca vaccine were being treated in hospital for bleeding, blood clots and a low count of blood platelets, which were labeled “unusual symptoms” by health authorities.
