McCanns 'Not Thinking About Sightings'

Detectives in Malta are today investigating two fresh claimed sightings on the island of missing Madeleine McCann. Two more people have reported seeing the child on the Mediterranean island. But officers said their inquiries have so far come to nothing.

There have been 11 alleged sightings of Madeleine on Malta dating back to May 27. Some witnesses have said she was with a man, others with a woman.

One man took a picture of a child he believed to be Madeleine at a parish feast in the central town of Zejtun on June 17. On examination, though, it proved not to be her.

A spokeswoman for Madeleine's parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, said they would not consider he alleged sightings in Malta until any are officially confirmed. She added: "There are lots of reports. If they got that emotionally involved with each one, they wouldn't be able to concentrate on the campaign."(Sky News)
