Brain Waves Surge Moments Before Death
A study of seven terminally ill patients found identical surges in brain activity moments before death, providing what may be physiological evidence of "out of body" experiences reported by people who survive near-death ordeals.
Doctors at George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates recorded brain activity of people dying from critical illnesses, such as cancer or heart attacks.
Moments before death, the patients experienced a burst in brain wave activity, with the spikes occurring at the same time before death and at comparable intensity and duration.
Writing in the October issue of the Journal of Palliative Medicine, the doctors theorize that the brain surges may be tied to widely reported near-death experiences which typically involve spiritual or religious attributes.
At first, doctors thought the electrical surges picked up by electroencephalographs were caused by other machines or cell phones in the rooms of dying patients, lead author Lakhmir Chawla told Discovery News.

The Independence Day-shaped cloud hovering in the skies over Moscow
In what could have been a scene from the film Independence Day, a luminous ring-shaped cloud could be seen hovering over the city of Moscow last week.
The pale gold 'halo' could be seen above the Russian capital city's Western District on Wednesday, and was captured on film by stunned Muscovites. Meteorologists rejected any theories of the supernatural however, calling it an optical effect.
A spokesman from the city's weather forecast said: 'Several fronts have been passing through Moscow recently, there was an intrusion of the Arctic air too, the sun was shining from the west – this is how the effect was produced.'
He added: 'This is purely an optical effect, although it does look impressive. If you look closer, you can see sun rays coming through that cloud. Most likely, the sun was setting when the video was being made. If you observe clouds regularly, you may see many other astonishing things. Clouds of the same class may look absolutely different in different areas.'
Some environmentalists blamed pollution for the cloud, but weather forecasters were quick to reject the idea: 'The phenomenon has nothing to do with industrial emissions,' said one. 'They could not produce such an effect against the background of the current weather conditions.
'If something happens, there is the smog effect, but it appears only when the weather is quiet for a long time. The wind in Moscow has been quite strong recently.' (Daily Mail)

McCanns: Find girl in Swedish photo
Detectives were last night desperately hunting a girl who was photographed in Sweden - after computer-matching showed she could be missing Madeleine McCann.
The girl, who was pictured at a car show, bears a strong resemblance to Maddie, who would now be six. Her jawline is identical and her eyes are the same colour as Maddie's. After the snap appeared on a website, Swedish police were inundated with calls from the public saying how much it looked like Maddie. They also received a spate of calls from visitors who believed they had seen Maddie at the car show.
Face-mapping technology used by British police identified the girl as a possible match, and Maddie's parents Kate and Gerry have now asked for an urgent investigation. But the photo of the girl in Sweden is not clear enough to show if she has the same characteristic. The girl was with a man and a woman at the car show, held in Sweden's capital Stockholm in August.
The man was Swedish but the girl spoke perfect English.

The World In A Bright Light
Everyday is a blessing, and in each moment there are many things that we can be grateful for. The world opens up to us when we live in a space of gratitude. In essence, gratitude has a snowball effect. When we are appreciative and express that gratitude, the universe glows a bit brighter and showers us with even more blessings. There is always something to be grateful for, even when life seems hard. A simple sandwich becomes a feast, and a trinket is transformed into a treasure. It was billed as one of the most ambitious missions in the history of space exploration - two spacecraft smashing into the surface of Moon and creating a six-mile high cloud of dust visible from telescopes on the Earth.
Instead there was disappointment for millions as live pictures relayed back from the Moon showed no sign of an impact.
Now, however, Nasa has released a photograph showing the flash of light as its massive Centaur rocket struck the lunar surface.
No wonder it was hard to spot - it looks like a pinprick made by the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Nasa Scientists 'Bomb' Moon's Surface
Nasa scientists have "bombed" the Moon with two spacecraft, but the effect of the violent planned collision was not immediately visible in live images. The projectiles were crashed at the lunar south pole in an attempt to kick up a six-mile high dust cloud that may contain water.
British researchers helped Nasa pick the spot for the attempt, which was broadcast live on the American space agency's website.
The Cabeus south polar region was identified by the University of Durham team as a site with high concentrations of hydrogen - a key component of water. It is believed water ice could lie at the bottom of dark craters at the Moon's poles, where temperatures are lower than minus 170C.
The spacecraft consisted of a LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite) and its 2.2 tonne empty Centaur launch rocket. (Sky News)

Hacker Gary McKinnon loses fight to stand trial in Britain
Computer hacker Gary McKinnon faces extradition to the United States after losing his final legal challenge in the High Court today.
The London-based computer fanatic, who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, broke into Nasa and Pentagon computers in a bid to discover evidence of the existence of alien life.
The Mail is campaigning to save Mr McKinnon from extradition, but with each judgement his chances of success diminish. A UK trial would allow him to avoid extradition to America, where he faces 60 years in jail. The High Court, which has turned down his extradition challenges, decided the case did not raise 'points of law of general public importance' - a prerequisite of being able to pursue a case at the higher level.
Mr McKinnon's lawyers said they would now consider applying to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
His mother Janis Sharp said after the decision: "No other country in the world would so readily offer its citizens to the US as sacrificial lambs merely to safeguard a 'special political relationship.To use my desperately vulnerable son in this way is despicable, immoral and devoid of humanity."
Ms Sharp added: "Gordon Brown and Alan Johnson should hang their heads in shame - the judges are only interpreting the law before them, but this Government made the abhorrent law that brought about this situation. They could redeem themselves by taking a brave and principled stand by intervening now before it's too late. What Gary did was wrong, born of his compulsive and obsessive behaviour. But it does not justify Gary's extradition, which would be a cruel and excessive punishment, particularly given his Aspergers. (Daily Mail)

What's NASA up to now? The closer we look at this mad science experiment, the more we can see a bigger, hidden ugly picture. Our Moon is extremely important to our Earth and our survival. It acts as a flywheel/stabilizer for Earth's non-spherical shape.

Now the National Science Foundation is going to cut funding for the McDonald laser ranging station at Ft. Davis, Texas. We hear of millions to billions of dollars being pissed away by pork barrel projects. And "National Science Foundation" kills this project that consumes a paltry $125,000/year?
Something is very wrong here. If NASA wanted to continue the project, which they should be doing, they could tell the NSF not to cancel this project. But apparently NASA is remaining silent. Just as they have remained silent about numerous Mars discoveries being made by the ESA Mars mission. So what's the problem?
Here are just a few of the facts that come to light:

2. The displacement of lunar material will follow Newton's law about equal and opposite reaction. This means that an equal force will be exerted on the Moon to match the force it takes to eject miles of material. No one can actually predict what will happen, just as NASA failed miserably predicting the results of another experiment. In a previous mission, a NASA spacecraft fired a high velocity copper warhead penetrator into a comet's core. The results were not what they expected. This is because popular science theory really believes comets are dirty snowballs. Instead, the actual results were already predicted by the electric universe theory. Comets are not dirty snowballs which is something many of us already knew. Yet again, NASA refused to use common sense and look at theories based on real evidence and science, such as the electric universe theory.
3. If the McDonald Moon ranging project is cancelled, no one will be able to measure the displacement of the Moon caused by the explosion. Perhaps this is the idea by cancelling the project.
4. Exploding a bomb on the Moon is against all international laws and treaties. NASA doesn't own the Moon and they never will, and as such have no right to instigate such madness. This madness is on a par with the utterly insane space elevator.
5. Last but not least is the water issue. This is one follows yet another big lie. Almost every book about our solar system claims it is nearly a perfect vacuum. So how does water behave when exposed to a reduced atmosphere? The speed it evaporates (sublimates) is in proportion to the amount of atmosphere present. If a window blows out of a plane at 50,000 ft. water and blood will boil. And that's not even in a very good vacuum. And here's what it all comes down to _ water disappears completely in a vacuum.
Therefore, the idea of NASA finding water on the Moon by exploding a bomb in a vacuum on the Moon is utterly ridiculous. Heat from the bomb combined with the vacuum will flash-evaporate any trace water so fast it cannot not be measured. No two ton bomb has ever exploded without generating tremendous heat, and this heat will blind infrared sensors. Long before the sub-lunar surface cools off to take a reading, any water will be long gone. So the idea of using a bomb to find water is wrong on many levels.
There also remains an even bigger and more important question _ what happens if they disturb the Moon's orbit? Few people alive today remember what NASA said when the spent Lunar Landers were ejected and crashed into the Moon. NASA stated that the seismograph instruments the Apollo crew left behind showed that after a Lunar Lander crashed into the Moon, that it "made the Moon ring like a bell for more than 30 minutes." Would this same thing happen if the Moon were made of solid rock? The Lunar Lander ascent stage weighed just 10,334kg. which is about the equivalent weight of an 11 ton truck.
The mass of the Moon has been calculated to be 7.36 1022 kilograms. That's a 7.36 followed by 22 zeroes. So how could an 11 ton spacecraft, which weighs even less on the Moon because gravity is 1/6 that of Earth - make 7,360,000,000,000,000,000,000 kilograms of rock ring for half an hour?
Who could believe this? This appears to strongly prove the Moon MUST be hollow. And if the Moon is actually hollow, it will take far less to disturb its orbit than anyone currently realizes.
How many millions of kilograms of force will bombing the Moon generate? We are not being told that figure. Disturbing the Moon's orbit may cause tidal waves and quite possibly Earthquakes in many zones around the Earth where edges of tectonic plates are already at or near the breaking point of sliding. The stress caused by a sudden shift in the Moon's gravitational pull could be a serious catastrophe. Melanie, 25, was last seen in June 1996 after apparently arguing with her boyfriend in a nightclub. Despite a huge police operation, no trace of her was ever found.
On Monday, however, a workman found parts of her skeleton hidden in plastic bags as he cleared away undergrowth just a few yards off the northbound slip road at junction 14 of the M5 near Thornbury, Gloucestershire. It was nearly 30 miles from where the psychology graduate was last seen, sitting on a stool in a Bath nightclub.
A total of five bin liners contained or covered her remains, including arm and leg bones and her pelvis and skull. Other parts of her skeleton were found partially buried nearby.
On Wednesday, she was formally identified using dental records but her parents had already been informed. They were shown pictures of a gold patterned ring found on the middle finger of her left hand, her great grandmother's wedding ring. Police say they will be concentrating on the ring in the hope that the killer has left forensic traces.

How to watch Nasa bomb the Moon live this afternoon
Astronomers and space enthusiasts around the world are preparing to watch Nasa crash a rocket into the lunar surface this afternoon.
The Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) will create 'a dimple' a third the size of a football pitch on the Moon at 12.30pm (BST).
It will search for water and ice on our nearest neighbour by crashing into a crater in the Cabeus region near the Moon's South Pole. Anyone can watch the event online through the Nasa TV website.
The event will also be visible to amateur astronomers across parts of the United States, where it will still be dark. They will need a minimum of a 10in telescope to view the six-mile high plume thrown up from the initial impact.
'The initial explosions will probably be hidden behind crater walls, but the plumes will rise high enough above the crater's rim to be seen from Earth,' said Brian Day, the Outreach Officer on LCROSS. 'This is a wonderful opportunity for citizen scientists to join Nasa in the process of discovery.'
The LCROSS Centaur upper stage rocket will detach and impact first on the surface. It will be followed four minutes later by the LCROSS Shepherding Spacecraft, which will fly through the plume of debris and relay this data back to Earth. It well then crash, creating a second debris plume. Approximately 350 tonnes of material will be propelled into the sunlight and break down to their basic components, so scientists can study the composition using ground-based telescopes and the Hubble Space Telescope.

Ironically, it is our lack of acceptance and resistance to the problem that creates the pain. Resistance builds up an energy wall or block that, if not discharged, gets suppressed into the body. These blocks identify places where we have not enough understanding or love. For health, we must work through what we seek to avoid. How do we do this? We can love parts of ourselves that we don’t like. We can seek the lessons we are being invited to learn through the problem. We can examine our beliefs and seek to see different perspectives and a bigger picture. As our perspectives grow, more of life makes sense and has meaning.

This means preparing for the arrival of your dream on every possible level—material, physical, and spiritual. You don’t have to know how it will come into your life, just trust that it will. Your job is to lay the groundwork, follow any leads you can find, and prepare for its arrival. This can mean cleaning out your garage to make space for a new car, taking a tour of a model home to get the feel of it in order to feed your fantasies, or thinking of what you want in a mate and then living up to that list yourself. Briah - Neshamah
Next to Chiah comes Neshamah, the higher level of spiritual consciousness, rather reigned by emotional aspects than by rational ones. Neshamah is often referred to as the 'breath of God', and it's said that it only can be fully recognized through mystical discipline. Neshamah is represented by the Cups in Tarot and refers to the element of Water and to the World of Briah. Briah translates as "creation", and like Neshamah, Briah is the stage where the human soul creates individual personality and identity, to define a specific form and function from the amorphous energies of Atziluth. Air passengers face full body X-rays after suicide bombers hide devices INSIDE their bodies
Air travellers could face even more intrusive security checks amid fears that Al Qaeda is planning a terror campaign using suicide bombers carrying explosives hidden in their bodies.
The body bomb threat was revealed after the tactic was used in an assassination attempt on a Saudi prince. Although the bid failed, it has sent shockwaves through the world’s airline industry and US and French anti-terrorism experts are urging increased security to safeguard against future attacks.
Intelligence chiefs feared it was only a matter of time before terrorists would try the kind of methods used by drug mules to evade airport security.
The dilemma is that explosives inserted into body cavities like the stomach or rectum, or even implanted surgically, cannot be detected by regular airport checks.
But draconian and potentially costly measures such as full X-ray screening or a requirement for all passengers to hand in electronic equipment that could possibly be used as detonators would cause chaos and massive delays.
The body bomb method was tested for the first time by 23-year-old Al Qaeda militant Abdullah Hassan al-Asiri, who got through several security checks with military grade plastic explosive in his rectum and detonated them during a meeting with the Saudi anti-terrorism chief, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef in August.
The prince only escaped serious injury because the terrorist’s body absorbed much of the impact of the blast and was ripped into seventy pieces.
The bomb is believed to have been triggered by a signal from a mobile phone text message. The concern now is that a similar small explosion could be disastrous in the pressurised cabin of an airliner.
‘While not wanting to be alarmist, I admit this is alarming,’ said Richard Barrett, head of the United Nation’s Al Qaeda and Taliban monitoring group.
‘Even though its capability is reduced, it is clear that Al Qaeda remains determined enough and inventive enough to cause another terroriost spectacular,’ he said at the weekend. Our aviation controls are equipped with metal detectors, but in the case of the Saudi suicide bomber only an X-ray control would have detected the explosive,’ a French official told Le Figaro newspaper.
But a French Interior Ministry official said X-raying every passenger would be unthinkable. ‘The health risks would be too high,’ he added. Security experts are considering isolating the electronic trigger by risking the wrath of passengers and insisting they hand over mobile phones, iPods and other equipment for the duration of the flight. Sebastian Mahe, an airport security expert with Brink’s France, said advances in miniaturisation were making it easier for terrorists to hide and detonate small bombs powerful enough to bring down an aircraft.

As much as most of us wish we could exist in harmony with the people we encounter throughout our lives, there will always be individuals we dislike. Some simply rub us the wrong way while others strike us as deliberately unaware. We may judge others as too mean or abrasive for us to interact with them comfortably. Yet no person should be deemed a villain because their beliefs, opinions, mannerisms, and mode of being are not compatible with your own.
You need not embrace the rough traits they have chosen to embody. There may be times in which the best course of action involves distancing yourself from someone you dislike. But circumstances may require that you spend time in the company of individuals who awaken your aversion. In such cases, you can ease your discomfort by showing your foe loving compassion while examining your feelings carefully. The reasons we dislike some individuals are often complex and, at first, indecipherable. Often, we are automatically averse to people who are different because they compel us to question our values, spirituality, culture, and ideologies, threatening to undermine our self-assurance. Realistically, however, those you dislike have no power to weaken your life’s foundations. In fact, your aversion to specific individuals may actually be your response to your fear that specific qualities you see in them also exist within you. Their presence may force you to face internal issues you would rather not confront. If you meet someone who inspired an intense, largely negative response in you, ask yourself why your reaction is so laden with powerful emotions. Remember that you control your feelings and, if necessary, you can minimize this individual’s impact on your well-being by choosing how you will respond to them. Though you may not have an immediate breakthrough, your willingness to consider your dislike rationally can help you better understand the root of your feelings. The Highest Level Of The Soul

Sun Mythology I
In Norse mythology Sol and Mani, the Sun and the Moon, were chased by the wolf brothers Skoll and Hati. Solar eclipses were thought to occur when Skoll almost caught up to Sol. It was in fact fated that Skoll would one day catch and eat Sol, at which time her daughter would replace her. Skoll and Hati were the son’s of Fenrir, a wolf-shaped monster who in turn was eldest child to Loki, the malicious trickster god responsible for the death of Baldur the Beautiful, Odin’s son and god of Light. 
The gods believed in a prophecy that Fenrir and his sons would bring about their doom and the end of the world. Known as Ragnarok, their doom would follow a severe ice age in which humanity would perish. Then Odin would lead the warrior gods of Asgard against the forces of evil led by Loki and including the giants, Fenrir, and his sons. After a terrible battle the universe itself would be destroyed and a new golden age ruled by the surviving gods, including Baldur, would ensue. In German, Ragnarok translates into "Götterdämmerung" (Twilight of the Gods), the last of Wagner’s four operas that comprise "Der Ring des Nibelungen," The Nibelungen Ring.
Although the Norse god Sol was also called Sunna or Sunne, the Sun itself was known as Alfrodull, or "Glory-of-Elves." The ancient Viking poems prophesy that on or after doomsday the Sun will bear a daughter who will be the new Sun, the luminous world to come. The poetic and oral literature of Iceland and our primary knowledge of ancient Norse paganism, the Eddas, say "One beaming daughter the bright Sun bears before she is swallowed by Fenrir; so shall the maid pace her mother’s way when the gods have gone to their doom."
The personification of the Sun in early Greek history was Helios, sometimes referred to as Helios Panoptes, the "all seeing." Like the Norse god Sol, Helios also drives a fiery chariot across the heavens. Helios had a son, Phaëton (or Phaëthon), whose friends didn’t believe him when he bragged that his father was the sun god. To prove it, Phaëton asked Helios to let him borrow the car (his chariot, the Sun) for a day. Because Helios had promised to give his son anything he asked for (talk about spoiled!), he eventually agreed. On the fateful day Phaëton panicked and lost control of the chariot. When it went too high the Earth began to freeze, and when it went too low the Earth was burned—supposedly how Africa got its deserts and the skin of its inhabitants became black. Finally Zeus had to intervene, striking the chariot with a lightning bolt, whereupon Phaëton was killed and fell into the River Po … read more …
