The Earth is expected to reach “peak population” before the end of this
century, with most developed nations facing sharp population declines
and ageing populations.
The reason for this decline is
attributed to the fear of overpopulation, which was perpetuated by
thinkers like Paul Ehrlich and led to the implementation of draconian
family planning measures, including coercive sterilisations and
abortions.
Many countries, including Japan, South Korea and
Italy, are already experiencing population decline, and the world
population is expected to peak between 2060 and 2080, followed by a
decline, with significant consequences for the global economy and
society.
The world is not overpopulated, AEIR explains. If the
entire world’s population moved to Texas, the population density would
be a little more than New York, much less than Paris and dramatically
less than Manila.
