Earlier, unearthly detonations had rocked the earth
a multitude of falling light spectres came from the heavens
which awoke with a deafening banshee scream
before turning the daylight into blinding incandescence
Many of there invaders descended; screaming were the mortals who saw
Hapless spectators vaporised into macrocosmic particles in a millisecond later
their souls trapped in the melting, pulverised atoms of their mortal form
Then the earth changed from a melee of madness to preternatural silence
all was still; all was in darkness as plumes of destruction hid the sun
a nation was lost; destroyed by a nemesis and a nuclear age came to a stunning close ...
This had been a fertile land
An ancient place passed from generation to generation
memories of the ancestors recorded in stone
until a tyranny arrived which opposed the ruling force
and turned healers into killers
abusing the energy produced by the awesome generators
pyramids of stone of dazzling white
testaments of a timeless technology of which this nation was renowned
But such was the perverted desires of the darkness
the end of peaceful times approached
and the need for protection from the evil eye was born
few mortals could deny the compulsions of that mesmerising stare
demons in human form soon gained total control
seizing ownership of those holy structures
experimenting with the atomic structures of life
producing the ultimate weapon of destruction in the shadow of those monuments
Reaping total destruction on neighbourly lands
Ending those conflicts in such a horrific way ...
