Mother on Trial for Murder After Allegedly Failing to Administer Chemotherapy Drugs to Son

'Refusing to comply with state-sanctioned protocols for cancer treatment -- even when they cause immense pain and suffering, and possibly even a more rapid death -- can get you tried for murder if a loved-one under your care with cancer ends up dying. A Massachusetts woman currently faces murder charges based on testimony from her son's doctor who claims that the mother did not properly administer chemotherapy drugs to her son, thus causing his death. According to a report in The Boston Globe, Kristen LaBrie allegedly stopped giving her son Jeremy his chemotherapy medication, at least for a time, which plaintiffs say resulted in his death. LaBrie has personally denied the allegations on numerous occasions, but her lawyer has since admitted that LaBrie did, indeed, stop giving her son the drugs.
