In one of her video lectures, Merritt said what happened with SARS-CoV-2 does not fit the criteria of a “spontaneous” outbreak.
An article published in bioRxiv in January 2020 – approximately two months before the World Health Organization officially declared a global pandemic – supported her claim.
“We are currently witnessing a major epidemic caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The evolution of 2019-nCoV remains elusive. We found four insertions in the spike glycoprotein (S) which are unique to the 2019-nCoV and are not present in other coronaviruses,” the authors of the study wrote.
“We can see where this was cut and spliced. Intrigued, we used the
2019-nCoV local alignment with each insert as query against all virus
genomes and surprisingly, each of the four inserts aligned with short
segments of the human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) proteins.”...<<<Read More>>>...
