Thought for the day

There are no such things as strangers,

They are just friends we haven't met yet.

Ronaldo- NO don't do it!

I will repeat what Matt said here....Ronaldo, No, No No do not go to Real Madrid (but he will...eventually)
I feel that Manchester Utd was the making of him....Real Madrid....well, we shall see.
But in my opinion, he should stay put!

Uncle Bill pays a visit

Saturday morning as I woke up, I received a vision of Matt's father holding some veggies??
Next to him stood another man who I did not recognise at all but felt this must be 'Uncle Bill'...
Now as you know, Matt's uncle emigrated to Australia som 40+ years ago and I had never met him. Not only had I never met him, but I had never seen a photograph of him either.
I described him to Matt as best I could....and sure enough it was ' Uncle Bill'....

Ah well, we never did make it to Melbourne to see him, so its nice to know that he has caught up with his brother (Matt's father) on the other side and also nice to know they are both around us.

United Win But Pay High Price (DAMN!)

Cristiano Ronaldo will realise his dream move from Manchester United to Real Madrid – but not for another 12 months. (Sunday Express 29th June 2008)

The Portuguese winger insists he wants to leave for the Bernabeu in a world-record transfer deal in the next few weeks but United are having none of it.

With manager Sir Alex Ferguson, chief executive David Gill and the club’s owners, the Glazers, all firmly entrenched in their view that Real Madrid should be stopped in their tracks, 23-year-old Ronaldo can expect a rough ride in the build-up to the new season.

Ferguson is still on holiday in the south of France, confident that Ronaldo’s destiny lies in his club’s hands, while Gill is also enjoying a summer break.

It means that there is no chance of an immediate summit meeting with Ronaldo. That suits United, who will reject any opening bid – likely to be in the region of £60million – from Real Madrid, who are massing their big guns, president Ramon Calderon, coach Bernd Schuster and sporting director Predrag Mijatovic, for an all-out assault to try and land their biggest signing since Zinedine Zidane.

United will dig their heels in but Ferguson is a realist and knows it’s not good for dressing room morale to keep an unhappy player. That’s why Sunday Express Sport believes an unofficial agreement will eventually be struck with Ronaldo enabling him to stay at Old Trafford for another year.

If he still wants to pursue his ‘dream move’ to Real Madrid next summer then it’s unlikely that United would stand in the player’s way.

They are adamant though that despite the player’s protestations and Real Madrid’s persistence, Ronaldo will start the new season as a Manchester United player. He will also start it on his existing five-year contract – signed only last summer – which gives him £110,000 a week. Real Madrid have promised him three times that amount but as Sunday Express Sport has reported, there are advanced plans led by Bryan Glazer for an image rights link-up with United’s main backers Nike which would effectively double the Portuguese international’s pay packet.

But the main figure in the coming weeks as the Ronaldo saga looks for a resolution is Ferguson.

IMO - Don't do it Mr Ronaldo. Don't do it!! It will be a BIG mistake. The sense here is as a player unsettled there would be another move within twelve to eighteen months.

Suicides Linked To 'Phone Masts'

The Sunday Express (Sunday 22nd June 2008) says: "The spate of deaths among young people in Britain’s suicide capital could be linked to radio waves from dozens of mobile phone transmitter masts near the victims’ homes."

Dr Roger Coghill, who sits on a Government advisory committee on mobile radiation, has discovered that all 22 youngsters who have killed themselves in Bridgend, South Wales, over the past 18 months lived far closer than average to a mast.

He has examined worldwide studies linking proximity of masts to depression. Dr Coghill’s work is likely to trigger alarm and lead to closer scrutiny of the safety of masts, which are frequently sited on public buildings such as schools and hospitals.

It is also likely to fuel more campaigns against placing masts close to public places on health grounds.

Dr Coghill said last night there was strong circumstantial evidence that the masts may have triggered depression in those from Bridgend who took their lives.

They include Kelly Stephenson, 20, who hanged herself from a shower rail in February this year while on holiday in Folkestone, Kent.

Dr Coghill said: “There is a body of research that has over the years pointed to the fact that exposure to mobile radiation can lead to depression. There is evidence of higher suicide rates where people live near any electrical equipment that gives off radio or electrical waves.”

Love Life & Yourself

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage." -- Lao Tzu

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create.

Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

"It matters not Who you love, Where you love, Why you love, When you love, Or how you love, It matters only that you love." -- John Lennon

"Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?" -- Frank Scully

The Law of the Mind

Men and woman often think over their problems just before going to sleep and get a solution in their dreams or immediately upon awakening.

This is because their minds were so active on the intellectual plane that they could not make contact with the silent inner plane where ideas work.

When the conscious mind is stilled and one makes contact with the superconsciousness, it begins to show us how our affairs will work out or how we can help to bring about the desired prosperity.

This is the law of mind.

Liquid Water in Crater

Times Up (nearly)

Well that's it (nearly) .... times drawing to close the end of the hour. As Kristine mentioned in an earlier post today ... we are still not on line yet. We are reliant on an hour per day's free internet at our local library. One hour per day to connect with the outside world ... e-mails, news etc.

It's not that long really ...

The computers are not the quickest in the world. The library is most certainly not the quietest in the world. A bank of about twenty 'public' computers all together in a space. All drawing off the same bandwidth. Strangers beside strangers. Music through speakers. Kids playing whilst parents surf the net.

It's better than nothing. But it ain't the best situation in the world.

But, it's good to be posting again. It's good to be watching what is going on in the outside world, and its good to see that 'someone somewhere' is still aware of me posting insights. Thanks again for the synchronicity between my first insight in ages and a news story appearing less than a day later (insight wrote on Friday night and posted on Saturday afternoon here in Canberra - late Friday night/ early hours Saturday morning Uk. News story appearing in Uk on the Saturday when we were off the internet and at home watching night-time TV).

It seems the fun & games are back on track again... but with a significant deadline (it appears) approaching, there does seem to be an end game coming into focus out of those white billowing mists that were formed on the trail.

Methinks ... I might have another insight written sometime this weekend and upload it sometime next week (just to see what happens)

Bye for now.

Obama And Clinton In Show Of Unity

Sky News UK (Friday 27th June 2008) says: Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have made their first joint campaign appearance as they try to heal wounds and get a Democrat back into the White House.

The two former rivals spoke at a "Unite for Change" rally in a New Hampshire village, appropriately named Unity.

Obama beat the former First Lady to the Democratic nomination for the US presidency earlier this month after a bitter campaign that split party loyalties.

But now the pair have united to pull the party together to campaign against Republican candidate John McCain in the run-up to November's presidential election.

In her speech, Clinton said the Arizona senator and the Republican Party probably hoped she would not join forces with Obama.

"But I've got news for them: we are one party, we are one America and we are not going to rest until we take back our country and put it once again on the path to peace, prosperity and progress in the 21st century," she said.

Obama said in response: "As someone who has taken the same historic journey as Senator Clinton; who has watched her campaign and debate, I know from firsthand experience how tough she is, and how passionate she is, and how committed she is to the causes that brought us here today."

Catching Up -'McCanns 'Confident' Over Alert Appeal'

Sky News Uk (Tuesday 17th June 2008) said: 'Madeleine McCanns' parents remain "confident" of winning vital support for a Europe-wide child abduction alert after a day of lobbying MEPs in Strasbourg.'

Gerry and Kate McCann need the signatures of 393 members - that is more than half the total number - by July 24 to see a written declaration of the cross-border system published and sent to the European President.

A signed declaration carries no legal weight, but suggests a political will to see such a scheme implemented.

The McCanns launched their drive for the US-style Amber Alert in Brussels in April, but travelled to Strasbourg needing another 182 members' signatures. That number was cut by a modest 15 to 167 by the end of a day-long visit, which left the couple "surprised" at a lack of awareness among MEPs of their high-profile campaign. But in a series of meetings held throughout the day unsigned members vowed to add their names, and persuade colleagues to join them, before next month's deadline.

Addressing a press conference with a statement on behalf of the couple, Mrs McCann said the visit had been "extremely useful".

Still not online yet

AAhhhhhhh.........the joys of emigrating!!
It's funny how when you start to pack up from one home to another, you think that it will fall into place sooooooo quickly, but never does!

We hope to be online soon, but for now, we have the library or the centre mall.
Matt manages to do the odd post at work (in his very rare spare time..lol) but mainly uses his laptop at home after work then uploads from his usb stick when he can to internet.

Just wanted to thank readers for their patience and we do hope to be online as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Canberra is just gorgeous and we are not finding it too cold just yet. Spend most weekends exploring around Canberra, each week we find new places to visit. Amazing how much is free in Canberra, War Memorial, Parliment House, Nature Reserve, NASA space centre....just to name a few interesting places.

Still have boxes unpacked in the garage including my PC! But we will eventually get it all out and find a place for it all....(I hope!) Then no doubt we will move again....

Catch up soon.

The White Yacht

A white yacht seems relevant to the situation over the last twelve months. Able to slip freely from Island to Island and port to port. A vessel familiar to eyes that watched the central sea.

Owned by someone with links and accrued power who is aware of the central core of the mystery.

At one time (or more) 'the valuable eye' will have been aboard this vessel. Slipping un-noticed from historic shore to historic shore.

Island small and large from The Straits to The Greek Islands are likely to be ports of call during the time that the hunt was on ... and a safe hiding place was required ....

'Sister' Project

It's coming in the next few months ... another 'Sister' blog to A Light in the Darkness. Unlike 'Music To My Ears' and 'Skyart' the new blog will be in a similar vein to A Light In The Darkness .....

So watch this space ... as it will have more than a few surprises ..... !!!!

Self Mastery

Emotions cause you pain and they actually dictate behavior to you. In other words when you are emotional you are no longer in control. For example when you are excited (you might think excitement is good) you can't actually think clearly.

The emotion of excitement takes over and leads you. It's not always the best action that is born from excitement and you don't have any control. The same goes for anger. The emotion clouds your judgment and through this you act. You act without using your consciousness. The result is an outcome that is not always favourable and one that you have no control over.

Real waiting on Ronaldo decision

Real Madrid will open talks with Cristiano Ronaldo once he has decided where he wants to play next season. (BBC Sport 23rd June 2008)

The 23-year-old Ronaldo has said he hopes to "complete his dream" of moving to the Bernabeu, despite Manchester United insisting he is "not for sale".

But Real president Ramon Calderon said: "Once Ronaldo announces his future and once his club accept to sell him then we would have talks. Right now he's a United player - we'll not interfere or create any problems."

Ronaldo has indicated he will make a public statement about his plans over the next few days, though the European champions have always insisted they would not listen to any offers for the Portugal winger.

Ronaldo is under contract with another team and we cannot think about him but focus on the players we have," said a club statement on Friday.

After Portugal's exit from Euro 2008, Ronaldo signalled his intention to "take advantage of a great opportunity" with the Spanish champions. "Everybody knows what I want but things don't only depend on me," he said. "I am not the person who decides but I hope to complete my dream."

Ronaldo said he had made the decision to leave United for Real before the Champions League final and revealed former Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who is set to become Chelsea's new manager, advised him to make the move.

Ronaldo has insisted he is not worried about upsetting United manager Sir Alex Ferguson by his desire to move to Madrid.

"It is my opinion," added Ronaldo. "That is why I don't mind if people get upset. It is my decision. It is what I want."

The midfielder was in scintillating form throughout the domestic season and scored 42 goals as United clinched a Premier League and Champions League double.

Thought for the Day

Human evolution is not really the change of one’s physical form from an apelike appearance to the form it has today.

Human evolution is really a shift from where one derives one’s pleasure, starting from the body then the mind and eventually the spirit. And when you end up deriving your pleasure directly from Spirit, you will never experience pain again.

Daily Merlin Insight for June 2008

'Merlin Insight'

Using 'Servants of the Light' tarot;

6 of Spheres
User Of Staves
4 of Crescents
THE STAR
9 of Weapons
The Lovers
Prime of Staves
Keeper of Staves
4 of Weapons

Randomly chosen images still herald The shining Star. I’m still adamant that MM is very much alive. Separated from her family by something political and something so immense that she is nothing more than a pawn in its workings. The 6 of Spheres is concerned with payments/ expectations of the Fool. A role to play for those who have the three young ones so dependant on them. One of three may well have been taken from them …. But circumstances are such that the abducted one will be returned … but only when the Dishevelled Woman seen in the image of the 4 of Crescents successfully relinquishes her hold on the situation. A woman of some influence calls the shots still. The prayers of the 9 Weapons have not been heard ….

The Lovers is a unity which defies logic. MM is held somewhere closer to home than can ever be imagined. She still fares well as those who look after her treat her as one of their own. They covert her … and it seems their identity is known to those at the centre of this.

Images of fishing boats and seagulls following are central to this. Whether it is Ireland or Cornwall there is something relevant. The sea has figured in this mystery so much. The two images of Staves keep the world at bay. They have the power to prevent disclosure though it was very close at one time. The representatives of the Unicorn have their hands tied. A woman of long golden hair instructs … keeps the peace …

The trojan horse has opened and a diamond has been seen in the field. It is apparent there is powerful merchandise here though searchers are no nearer finding the Shining Star. There is much distraction. Much deception.. The story heralded by the 4 of Weapons has pushed so much under the table.

Beyond the cliffs of Dover are the answers though the locality of the Shining Star appears to be north of the sight of these majestic white cliffs.

Donnie or Donald could well hold the answer though a flight over the straits of G will herald little.

Time moves on battle fought by the User of Staves continues. There is a sense of organised and planned maneuvers carefully considered.

MM is in safe hands
. Hands who think they can do a better job than G & K. There is resentment and anger. Deliberated actions. The Shining Star lives and breathes. There is no connection from the other side that suggests she has moved on. It may well be a long and winding road to her eventual reunion but she does still live on.

Someone very resentful of a commitment between her parents watches on. Influential in the world of prayer. Very influential in the world of action … motivated others to consider them for a role. Someone then was taken from their clutches though it seemed no real surprise to those at the core …. Something appalled those in the spheres of influence …. And they became the choice.

The Prime of Spheres states the obvious … the wood for the trees. It is plain before the eyes…..

It seems . More pressure of commitment to prove. Anything to get 'the diamond' back. What was used was something was that which offended those who could influence … and then a cause was born out of the situation.

Knife’s in the back – swinging swords of Damocles – for the followers or practitioners of a ‘religion within a religion’. Pressure being exerted, the noose tightening more and more for a decision … leading to an end game of some kind. Planned as the finale to an entire situation of which the taking of MM is but one face or one compartment. Someone may well be the member of an orthodox religion but also a follower of another ‘religion’ or ‘belief’ which the orthodox religion will not accept. Tension.

Where MM is found – eventually when the ‘powers that be’ decide – she will be found with a group of other children.

Southern Ireland does have a meaning – a significance – but it is not where I feel she will be found. I sense heat/sun at the locality she will eventually be taken to when she has to be found.

Forces of – and around - the Unicorn appear to be lead in the wrong direction by the investigation and all the resultant smoke screens created. Real evidence has somehow been replaced by plants. These plants and weeds have led the resultant media interest into the wrong directions. The real investigation appears not to be anything like the one which has been portrayed in the public eye.

The abduction of MM appears to be but a small fragment of the entire picture. Someone with ‘trained intelligence’ was behind the abduction. Rehearsed to a fine art it seems. Not the random snatching it appears to have been made out to be. Three/four people involved with one (possibly the female) who was relatively close to the McCanns. Someone with a ‘double life’ unbeknown to them. Orchestrating the operations. Someone ‘familiar’ to MM carried her to a waiting vehicle. Vehicle to quay/shore. Boat sneaking out … making its way to either another boat or further out to sea to a planned safe destination. Private land and beach on a secluded side of an island. Lying low until the next stage could be instigated. Intelligence forces appear to have known her locality in the early stages but a ‘power hand’ of a ‘significant family’ (think of the diamond) was able to prevent the wheel in motion which could have returned her in the first few days.

Desolate moorland and distant muggy mountains are where she often resides. Green rolling hills and narrow roads. Farmer’s fences and land rovers/range rovers. Indeed a black one with dark windows is a mode of transport for her from time to time. Down to a beach ... running along the beach … shells and sand. Whilst someone with a bucket picks scallops/mussels out of the water at low tide. The inlet appears like Scotland but more likely Ireland. There is a large estate nearby with deer seen in the grounds. The house is stone faced with a long entry road from a main road winding through to the front of the house. The public side. MM lives away from the main quarters in this large dwelling. She is kept away because there are many visitors to this place. People from other lands come here. It is the meeting place of the ‘underworld’ or the ‘hidden world’ of which the public are kept ignorant. MM is part of their plans; of their greater design?

Insight for the Day

A Roll of a dice
2 4 6 8 (2+6)
End of a cycle/completion of a phase
A building of stone keeping its own company
A dirt track road gained by a ford
Reclusive or cult-like activists
A familiar eye held. In safety. Against a backclothe of silence
A trail now dark. Lost it seems
But the salmon still swims in the stream.
A peninsula of land a home but not all the time.
A commodity revered ...
Searching eyes must look to where they know
Back over the old trail once more
Broken pieces before there was blood on the wall ...

Seek your limits and beyond

"If you're proactive, you don't have to wait for circumstances or other people to create perspective expanding experiences. You can consciously create your own."
-- Stephen Covey

Connect with the edge, the unknown, of your experience. Allow this pull towards unexplored territory to take you to new dimensions of yourself. Allow life to touch you in new ways.

For this is how we truly live life. Become more alive as you grow through your consciousness barriers. Ask questions that seek answers beyond yourself. The depth of life is revealed as you go further into it.

"Nothing is lost upon a man who is bent upon growth; nothing wasted on one who is always preparing for - life by keeping eyes, mind and heart open to nature, men, books, experience - and what he gathers serves him at unexpected moments in unforeseen ways."
-- Hamilton Wright Mabie

Rationing at UK supermarkets as world prices soar 70 per cent

The Mail On-Line Sunday 1st June 2008, says: Supermarkets are rationing rice in some stores after panic-buying by customers worried about a global shortage. Retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl have introduced quotas for the staple food, which has increased in price worldwide by 70 per cent in a year.

It is believed to be the first time major stores have limited purchases of such foodstuffs since sugar and bread were restricted in the Seventies because of strikes by producers. Netto, the Danish-owned chain with 184 UK stores, has limited its 10kg bags of rice to one per customer. Lidl, the German-owned cut-price group with 380 British outlets, has restricted purchases to ‘family volumes’ to stop bulk-buying by traders.

Most of the limits have been introduced in areas of Leicester which have large Asian populations.
Tesco said that for two weeks its store in the Hamilton area of the city had limited customers to two packs of rice per person. But a spokeswoman insisted: ‘There is no supply problem. Rice was restricted for a couple of weeks at one store only. No other Tesco stores have been affected.’

Canberra

Well here we are in Canberra, finally found a place to rent, our furniture arrived 2 weeks ago and we are still unpacking boxes!
Lots of fun along the way, lots of lows and highs, laughter and tears and of course our usual mishaps!
Currently we are still without internet connection, problem with the location of the one phone line and the space to set up the PC...Mmm....looks like we shall eventually go Wi Fi, but could be months away yet as we still have lots of other things to sort. But we have free 1 hour internet access here at the library, so can occasionally pop on and write things.
Canberra- well it is just ace! We totally adore it, it is the city within the country, a very easy city to find your way around. (much to Matt's surprise, I haven't yet got lost!)
I drive 95% of the time and to make Matt feel at home he has already collected 2 speeding tickets! Oh well, more money to cough up!
Okay, that's all from me for now, 1 hour soon goes, maybe I should speed up my typing!
