Maddie dad: Cops are wrong

The Sun Headline; says: 'Relations between the family of missing Madeleine McCann and the Portuguese police have reached breaking point. For the first time dad Gerry publicly dismissed the police’s main theory about his daughter, who vanished on May 3. Cops in Praia de Luz believe Maddie, four, died in the holiday apartment — probably in an accident. But yesterday — as a new sighting was reported in Spain — heart specialist Gerry, 39, said he was still convinced Madeleine has been abducted. He told Radio 4’s Today programme: “I am a million miles away from changing my mind. It goes back to the initial night. She was certainly moved.”


Until yesterday the McCanns voiced their support for the investigation despite private concerns. But now tensions have come to the surface. A family friend said: “Gerry disagrees with police and wanted it to be known.
