Linsday Hoyle wants a bill passed through parliament to censor speech online

Lindsay Hoyle, the speaker of the House of Commons, has called for the UK government to put a bill through parliament to tackle “misinformation” on social media. This is an abuse of office and an attempt by Hoyle to censor dissenting opinions and free speech online.Speaking to 5 Live’s Matt Chorley on Monday, Hoyle said: “Misinformation is dangerous. … [Social media is] bad when people are using it in a way that could cause a riot, threats, intimidation, actually suggesting that we should attack somebody … What we’ve got to do is make sure its factual, correct.”
“The government will have to think long and hard about what they’re going to do with social media and what they’re going to put through parliament as a bill to act,” he said.
Lindsay Hoyle is abusing his position as Speaker to advance a “distinctly political and authoritarian cause” of censorship and silencing dissenting opinions online, Spiked said.
Who gets to decide what is “misinformation”? The Government? Social media companies? They can’t be trusted. We have seen numerous examples in just the past few years of opinions and news stories initially condemned by politicians and social media companies as “misinformation” or “disinformation,” only for their truth to be revealed later on.

Volkswagen to close production plants in Germany as Europe’s industrial collapse accelerates
Volkswagen, we are told, may have to close down several of its production plants in Germany due to falling profits. Consumers in China and other major markets simply are not buying cars like they once did, so Volkswagen may have no choice but to scale back its operations.
The news comes as Germany reported a slight contraction in second-quarter growth. This points to an imminent recession or worse as Volkswagen tries to overcome its woes by investing in Mexico and the Americas.
The future of production for Volkswagen, a Germany company, appears to be all the way across the Atlantic Ocean.
"VW is considering unprecedented factory closures in Germany in a bid for deeper cutbacks, delivering another blow to Chancellor Olaf Scholz's government," reports indicate.
Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume commented that Germany's economic environment has become "even tougher" as "new players are pushing into Europe."
"Germany as a business location is falling further behind in
terms of competitiveness," Blume added ominously. "Any shutdowns would
mark the first closures in Germany during the company's 87-year history,

Frightening 20-foot-tall figure seen clinging to the side of Colorado mountain
Two hikers were left stunned after encountering a frightening 20-foot-tall figure clinging to the side of a Colorado mountain.
Jessee Clauson, 29, and Camille Avarella, 28, were descending Longs Peak in the Rockies when they unwittingly caught the lanky gray creature on camera as it appeared to scale the crag.
The Denver-based duo didn't see the beast at the time of their trek on August 24 - but noticed it lurking in the backdrop of a photograph as they reminisced about the adventure weeks later.
'I was shocked to the bone when we were looking at the picture,' behavior analyst Clauson told DailyMail.com.
Recalling the hike, she added: 'We didn’t see anything.
'We didn’t take the picture because we saw that thing - we just took it because the mountain range was pretty.’
Clauson said they set off on the intrepid walk at 2am in order to conquer the 14,000-foot crag by dusk the next day.
They had been walking for seven hours when they snapped the figure just after scaling the peak at around 9am, she said.
'We were in full adrenaline mode so we weren’t really paying attention,' Clauson told DailyMail.com.
Graphic designer Avarella explained that it was while they were sharing the photographs with family on a plasma screen TV that they first noticed the creature.
They zoomed in after noticing an odd white coloration on the side of the crag.

Entangled Minds: Telepathically Entering Another Person’s Lucid Dreams

Now somewhat successful with controlling my dreams, I decided to try one of the new techniques, and it worked; I was becoming more consciously aware in my dream states. But remembering and staying conscious in my dreams was a constant struggle. I began noticing that on nights I did not smoke marijuana, I could recall my dreams, they were more vivid, and I was more consciously aware of them and as a result. I curtailed my marijuana use.
During this period Joe, a long time friend, and I were studying
rituals from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. He and I had a close
friendship, and according to the studies on dream telepathy to be
successful, there needed to be an “agent-subject rapport,” which is what we had. We decided to experiment with the directional
symbols from the Golden Dawn: the dagger, wand, chalice and pentacle.

Roadmaps of Life
Some people seem well-suited to following maps, while others are always looking for new ways to get where they’re going. In the end, the only reliable compass is within, as every great spiritual guide will tell you. The maps and travelogues left behind by others are great blessings, full of useful information and inspiration, but they cannot take the journey for us. When it is time to merge onto the highway or pull up anchor, we are ostensibly on our own. Strange weather patterns, closed roads, and traffic jams arise out of nowhere, and our maps cannot tell us what to do. Whether we take refuge in a motel by the side of the road, persevere and continue forward, or turn back altogether is entirely up to us.
Maps are based on observations from the past, and we are living in the present. So, we are the only true experts on our journey to enlightenment. We may find that the road traveled by our predecessors is now closed. We may feel called to change direction entirely so that the maps we have been carrying really no longer apply. These are the moments when we learn to attune ourselves to our inner compass, following a map that only we can see, as we make our way into the unknown territory of our own enlightenment. (Daily OM)

Nearly half of FDA-approved AI-powered medical devices lack clinical validation data

This means that almost half of these tools were not necessarily "trained" on actual patient cases, sparking concerns about their performance in real-world medical settings.
The researchers involved in the study are calling for more transparency and better standards in the development and approval of AI-powered medical devices. They argue that clearer guidelines are needed to determine which devices are truly effective and which might need more testing.

Surprise, surprise: FDA authorizes new COVID-19 Vaccine without clinical data
Novavax's protein-based vaccine will be available soon after regulators granted emergency authorization to the Maryland-based company for the product.
FDA officials said that animal testing data supported the decision.
"Today's authorization provides an additional COVID-19 vaccine option that meets the FDA's standards for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization," Dr. Peter Marks, who directs the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said in an Aug. 30 statement.

Undistracted Energy
If we make no effort at all, our thoughts usually scatter in a vast array of directions. They start and stop and move in surprising ways from one second to the next. If we try to follow our thoughts without controlling them, we will be amazed at how truly inconsistent they are.
Yet, if we apply our minds to a specific task, especially one that interests us, our thoughts gather together and allow us to focus our attention, creating great power and energy. This is what is known as pure thought because it is undistracted.
The law of attraction — like attracts like — influences all energy, including our thoughts, and this is what makes pure thought so potent. Our undistracted thoughts create a powerful magnet that draws similar energy into our vibrational field. As a result, the longer we are able to hold positive thoughts in our minds, the more powerful the positive energy around us becomes. We don’t need to focus on action and controlling so much when we are surrounded by energy that draws what we want toward us. We can simply respond to the opportunities that naturally come our way. When this is the essence of our experience, we can go with the flow, knowing that we will be okay.
If pure thought is a body, it is our emotions that supply the heart
and really bring it to life. Our thoughts and feelings exist in relation
to one another, and they form a feedback loop through which they
communicate and empower each other. When we hold a thought in our mind

Petrol Cars “Rationed to Meet Net Zero Targets”
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors, said manufacturers were delaying deliveries of cars until next year amid fears they will otherwise breach quotas set for them by the Government.
This means someone ordering a car today at some dealerships will not receive it until February, he said.
At the same time, Mr. Forrester warned manufacturers and dealers were grappling with a glut of more expensive electric vehicles (EVs) that are “not easily finding homes”.
He said: “In some franchises there’s a restriction on supply of petrol cars and hybrid cars, which is actually where the demand is.
“It’s almost as if we can’t supply the cars that people want, but we’ve got plenty of the cars that maybe they don’t want.
“They [manufacturers] are trying to avoid the fines. So they’re constraining the ability for us to supply petrol cars in order to try and keep to the Government targets.”
The Chief Executive blamed the zero emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate, which requires at least 22% of cars sold by manufacturers to be electric from this year.
This target will gradually rise each year before reaching 80% in 2030, with manufacturers made to pay £15,000 for every petrol car that exceeds their quota – unless they have so-called carbon credits to spend.
But the scheme has prompted stark warnings from bosses at major brands, such as Vauxhall owner Stellantis and Ford, which have said they cannot sacrifice profits by selling EVs at large discounts indefinitely.
Instead, they have previously warned they may be forced to restrict petrol car supplies to artificially boost their ZEV mandate performance.
The warning from Vertu is the first confirmation that carmakers have now begun doing so….
Mr. Forrester said: “What the Government’s actually doing is constraining the new car market, which has a big impact on VAT receipts for them, and creates a business environment in the U.K. where manufacturers may question whether they want to make cars here.
“As Carlos Tavares [chief executive of Stellantis] has said, why should they sell cars at a loss because of U.K. Government policy?

The multivariate analysis used publicly available data from prominent climate research and energy-related organisations. He found that human emissions were not a determining factor in any of the regression models.
A regression model is a statistical technique used to estimate the relationship between a response (dependent) variable and a set of explanatory (independent) variables.
The study concluded that sea surface temperature (“SST”), not human emissions, was the independent determinant of the annual increase in atmospheric CO₂ concentration.
“This study is the first to use multiple regression analysis to demonstrate that the independent determinant of the annual increase in atmospheric CO₂ concentration was SST, which showed strong predictive ability. However, human CO₂ emissions were irrelevant. This result indicates that atmospheric CO₂ has fluctuated as natural phenomenon, regardless of human activity,” the study says.
“The global SST has been the main determinant of annual increases in atmospheric CO₂ concentrations since 1959. No human impact was observed.”

Academic Freedom Around the World Declining for First Time Since WWII
The research, conducted by a team of international researchers, reveals that after decades of steady improvement, global academic freedom has begun to decline over the past decade. This shift represents the first significant downturn since World War II and raises serious concerns about the future of innovation and scientific advancement.
Academic freedom, the right of scholars to pursue research, teach, and express ideas without undue interference, has long been considered a cornerstone of scientific progress. However, its importance to innovation has never been quantitatively measured on a global scale until now. The study’s findings not only confirm the crucial role of academic freedom in driving innovation but also sound a warning about the potential consequences of its current decline.
To investigate this relationship, the researchers analyzed data from 157 countries over a 115-year period, from 1900 to 2015. They used the Academic Freedom Index (AFI) to measure the level of academic freedom in each country and compared it to innovation output, measured by the number of patent applications and citations.
The results, published in PLOS One, were striking. Countries with higher levels of academic freedom consistently produced more patents and received more citations on those patents. Specifically, when a country’s academic freedom increased by one standard deviation, the number of patent applications rose by 41% two years later, and the number of citations increased by 29% five years later.
However, the most alarming finding was the recent downward trend in academic freedom. After steadily increasing from the 1940s to the 2010s, global academic freedom began to decline in the last decade. This reversal was observed not only globally but also among the 25 leading countries in science.
Based on the study’s findings, the researchers project that the recent decrease in academic freedom could lead to a substantial reduction in innovation output in the coming years. Breakthroughs That Are Changing Our Understanding of Dreams
Here are four recent breakthroughs that may pave the way for a greater understanding of dreaming.
In 2021 an international study showed that two-way communication between a lucid dreamer and a researcher in the lab was possible. In 2024, another study built on this by training lucid dreamers to control a virtual car from within their dreams.
The 12 dreamers in the experiment made slight muscle twitches, which sent a signal to a computer to make the virtual vehicle move forwards or turn. Signals were sent back to the dreamer to inform them of obstacles to try and avoid. Some could move the car well, but others, no matter how hard they tried, could not.

The Wisdom of Animals
In the case of wild animals, this is not, perhaps, too surprising. Studying wild animals properly means following them for years in their natural habitat – a difficult if not impossible task which requires superhuman dedication and would, in the end, probably produce research of questionable value because the very presence of the human observer might well alter the behaviour of the animals. Studying “wild” animals in the entirely unnatural conditions of the laboratory, zoo or safari park is as likely to provide useful information about the way animals behave naturally as studying prisoners would about human behaviour. One thing we do know for certain is that wild animals kept in captivity behave very differently from wild animals living in their natural habitat.
It should, of course, be much easier to observe farm animals. Cows, pigs, sheep and other animals are easy enough to watch. And since the observer need not alter the animals’ routine the observations should be of value. Instead of watching these animals in their natural surroundings, men and women in white coats cage them, stick electrodes into their heads, sit them in metal boxes for weeks at a time to make them depressed, separate them from their families, sew up their eyes and inject chemicals into their brains while they are awake. The knowledge obtained in such a barbaric way is never of any value but is simply added to our ever-growing library of pointless “discoveries” and “observations.” In a generation or so our descendants will look back at the meat traders, the animal transporters, the hunters and the vivisectors and wonder not just at the sort of people they were, but at the sort of people we were to let them do what they did.

British government-funded research to explore use of “nudging techniques” to encourage people to EAT BUGS

A government-backed research center in the United Kingdom is set to employ "nudging techniques" to encourage the public to adopt insect-based foods and other alternative proteins in their diets.
The National Alternative Protein Innovation Centre (NAPIC), set to open at the University of Leeds in northern England and funded by U.K. Research and Innovation (UKRI) will explore subtle methods to promote "meat alternatives."
NAPIC, which secured 23 million British pounds ($30.2 million) in funding from multinational corporations and other businesses eager to enter the insect protein industry, will focus on understanding consumer behavior and attitudes toward alternative proteins, including insect-based foods, plant-based meats and lab-grown proteins. NAPIC seeks to position these products in supermarkets and what marketing tactics might persuade shoppers to try them.
"We know that consumers won’t buy food that they don’t find appealing or that’s more expensive than their traditional choices," said Louise Dye from the Institute for Sustainable Food (ISF) at the University of Sheffield. "We also have to be sure that any new alternative proteins are safe and healthy."
Nudging techniques that subtly encourage people to make specific choices without restricting their freedom have been successfully used in public health. Now, researchers hope to use similar tactics to promote a shift away from animal-based proteins, which the ISF accounts for over 90 percent of protein purchased in U.K. supermarkets.

Councils beg Rachel Reeves for the power to implement UNLIMITED tax hikes ahead of the next Budget and to have the option of killing off the single person discount
The Local Government Association (LGA) has urged the Chancellor to scrap the five per cent yearly tax rise cap – which currently limits hikes without a referendum.
Senior government sources have insisted to The Telegraph that they have ‘no plans’ to follow through on the group’s hopes – but the association said that the extreme measures are desperately needed for councils facing a £6billion funding gap.
The single person discount gives people who live on their own a 25 per cent discount on their council tax bill, which local authorities say could free up £3billion a year.

End of August and early September is usually when mosquito populations really start to explode across the more humid areas of country, including in New York City where city officials have begun "spraying" the streets with chemicals as mitigation.
Thanks to the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) "pandemic," some cities and towns are even launching "voluntary" curfews and lockdown orders as a way to try to mitigate the perceived threat of West Nile Virus.
The town of Plymouth in Massachusetts, for instance, posted a notice that its jurisdiction is at high risk for the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like West Nile. As such, residents and visitors are being told to stay home after dark in order to stay safe.
With monkeypox (mpox) also making headlines, it would seem as though the race is on to see which election virus sticks as the one to upend normal voting day procedures and turn it into another COVID-like mass hysteria event to provide cover for the election thieves to do their thing.
The media is still talking about the latest "strains" of COVID, too, with the FDA having just approved yet another "vaccine" for the dreaded virus. So we are witnessing the emergence of a potentially fate-altering trio of viruses taking center stage as Election Day approaches.
As for West Nile Virus, the claim is that 33 states – 33 is a powerful number in the occult – are now threatened by its spread. Is this true or is it simply a code meant to deceive the world as the string-pullers angle the country towards destruction?
There is actually a fourth virus the media is talking about that is also said to be a threat: eastern equine encephalitis, or EEE. A handful of towns across Massachusetts have imposed "voluntary" lockdowns to address that alleged "threat."
"The desperation continues," wrote someone on X about all this virus and disease fearmongering. "They have to stop people from going out to vote come November."
