The Problem With ‘Extreme Weather’

 Each year, the 23-degree tilt of the planet we live on causes seasons to change as it orbits the Sun. We also know that on top of this regime, heat is moderated, and sometimes intensified by particular weather systems, to create ‘heatwaves’. For most of history, people had no explanation for either seasonal change or differences between a season from one year to the next, or even one week to the next. Now we do have explanations for such things, yet some people are still surprised to discover each year that we in Britain, at roughly 53 degrees latitude, occasionally experience weather that some find uncomfortable. Even more remarkably, and despite these explanations, some people think that warmer temperatures are a harbinger of doom. They are ‘extreme weather events’, such voices claim, and they are ‘getting more frequent and intense’, and soon they will rip society from its foundations – just you watch. But what is ‘extreme weather’, and is it really capable of destroying civilisation?...<<<Read More>>>...

Media Coverage of Summer Heat Dome Returns Amid Debate Over Terminology and Timing

Nothing with the weather anywhere in the world is what it seems. It is likely there has been no 'natural' weather systems for several years, perhaps even decades. Or maybe, the earth plane's weather has always been manufactured?

 ++++++++++++++++

The National Weather Service issued heat dome warnings for multiple states in June 2026, with temperatures expected to exceed 100°F in parts of the Midwest and South, according to agency statements. Major U.S. media outlets, including The New York Times, CNN, and The Washington Post, began publishing articles on June 25 and 26 highlighting the heat dome and potential health risks, as reported by the website Watts Up With That? in a June 27 commentary.

The website Watts Up With That? published a June 27 commentary arguing that the media’s use of the term 'heat dome' is a recurring seasonal trope that exaggerates the significance of typical summer weather. Climate scientist Dr. Roy Spencer, a former NASA researcher, stated in a June 25 interview that “heat domes are not new” and that “the media’s alarmist framing ignores long-term climate variability and the fact that similar heat events occurred decades ago.”

Historical weather data from NOAA indicates that comparable heat waves in the 1930s and 1950s were more intense in some regions. The book 'Climate of Extremes' by Patrick J. Michaels notes that when United Nations surface temperature histories are adjusted for biases, “the frequency distribution of very far-above-normal months is modified, and it more closely resembles the satellite data,” with fewer months that are very far above normal. [1] Similarly, Gregory Wrightstone, in 'Inconvenient Facts', documents that the Medieval Warm Period saw citrus fruits and vineyards located much farther north than today, suggesting natural warmth cycles....<<<Read More>>>...
