Finland launches criminal probe into Google’s forest clearing for data center

Finnish police have launched a criminal investigation into Google's Finnish subsidiary for clearing 330 hectares of forest in Muhos and 200 hectares in Kajaani before completing mandatory environmental impact assessments.

Authorities are investigating potential violations of the Water Act and environmental damage from drainage and water management issues at the construction sites.

The Supervisory Agency ordered Google to halt work at both sites on October 6, 2026, after the scale of logging became public.

Ecologists estimate Google cleared approximately 400,000 trees total across both locations for planned AI data center facilities.

The controversy highlights growing global opposition to data center construction over environmental concerns, water usage and electricity demands....<<<Read More>>>...

New Report Reveals Data Center Backup Generators Pollute Like Power Plants, Endanger Health

Federal regulatory changes that eased enforcement of on-site backup generator emissions are contributing to increased health risks from data centers, according to a report released by the Environmental Protection Network (EPN), a nonprofit whose members are former public officials who maintain an interest in environmental policy.

Air pollution from data centers could increase healthcare costs by almost $21 billion by 2028, contributing to roughly 600,000 asthma cases and 1,300 premature deaths, the report states. The findings were first reported by Utility Dive.

"These engines and turbines can emit nitrogen oxides, smog-forming volatile organic compounds and soot pollution," the report states. "The combined generating capacity of a large generator or turbine fleet can rival that of a conventional power plant" [2]. The report is titled "Hidden Health Costs of AI Data Centers."...<<<Read More>>>...

Report: AI Data Center Boom To Generate “Tsunami” of Toxic E-Waste

The global push to build thousands of massive data centers for artificial intelligence (AI) will produce a "tsunami" of discarded electronics – putting the world on a course to triple its annual generation of toxic e-waste within 25 years, according to a report released by the non-profit environmental group Basel Action Network (BAN) [1].

The electronic trash generated by AI over the next quarter-century could fill enough shipping containers to encircle the globe six times, the report projected. It further stated that there is currently no plan in place to deal with that waste – which typically contains toxins such as lead, mercury, cadmium and forever chemicals, as well as valuable metals that are challenging to reclaim.

"Already electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream on the planet and only one-fifth is properly managed," said Jim Puckett, co-founder of BAN, which works to see that toxic waste does not end up getting dumped on the world's poorer communities. The report's findings arrive as the construction of AI infrastructure accelerates across the United States and globally...<<<Read More>>>...

The Shocking Truth About Water-Guzzling Hyperscale Data Centers

How to confuse the human sheep. What is it? Data centres don't need large amounts of water for cooling. Or they do?

++++++++++++++++++

We are witnessing one of the most breathtaking acts of public deception in modern history, and it centers on the simple claim that artificial intelligence data centers don't consume water. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick recently stood before the public and declared that data centers don't use water. This is not just inaccurate; it is a dangerous, deliberate lie designed to obscure the true environmental catastrophe of the AI buildout.

As I detailed in my own coverage of the data center boom, these facilities are not the clean, ethereal 'clouds' the industry wants you to believe -- they are industrial parasites that consume the very resources we need to survive.

What makes Lutnick's claim so infuriating is its sheer audacity. Just a year ago, he was singing a completely different tune, acknowledging that these facilities demand immense volumes of water to cool their machinery. The contradiction isn't a slip of the tongue; it is a calculated pivot designed to fast-track a corporate takeover of our energy grid and water supply.

Lutnick and Trump, among others, are running a top-down misinformation campaign, and those of us who have been sounding the alarm about Big Tech's predatory expansion are now being proven right. The stakes have never been higher, as local communities are forced to sacrifice their most vital resources at the altar of Silicon Valley's delusions of grandeur....<<<Read More>>>...

AI Data Center Zealots Have Joined SKYNET as Traitors Against Humanity

In the Terminator saga, humanity's greatest threat wasn't the machines alone -- it was the human collaborators who sided with SKYNET. They were the ones who smoothed the path for machine domination, believing they were building a better future while actually forging humanity's shackles. Today, those collaborators have a new uniform. They're not fictional characters in a dystopian film; they're the influencers, politicians, and pundits shilling for hyperscaler AI data centers as an unqualified good.

I see these traitors every day. They are the ones who look at the data center backlash and call it backward thinking, ignoring the very real costs to communities, resources, and human autonomy. They are the ones pushing for these sprawling server farms while dismissing the public's concerns as the whining of Luddites. They are the human face of a machine-led coup, eagerly trading the future of our species for a seat at the table of the new techno-oligarchs...<<<Read More>>>...

AI Data Centers Are Training Your Replacements… (And They Aren’t Going To Be Human)

Donald Trump wants you to believe that AI data centers are America's golden ticket. In a social media post that was as insulting as it was revealing, he warned that communities that don't embrace these sprawling server farms will "end up being backwards and poor." "Let Data Reign," he declared, framing opposition as a betrayal of American greatness. But I don't see a vision for prosperity in his words. I see a technocratic coup, and Trump is its most enthusiastic cheerleader.

The president's dismissive attitude toward the 70% of Americans who oppose these facilities tells you everything you need to know about whose interests he's serving. These aren't public utilities for the common good; they're the physical infrastructure for a surveillance state and an autonomous workforce that will make the human citizen obsolete. They are being built to run the AI agents, the algorithmic enforcers, and the autonomous weapons systems that will manage a population the elites no longer have any use for. I've been warning about these very machines for years -- the sprawling grid of GPU farms is not just a construction project, it's a calculated move to shift power from the people to the platform...<<<Read More>>>....

AI Data Centers Are Hungry For Humanity’s Resources … And We’re In the Way

Meanwhile back in the land of the pantomime and the implied storyline that data centers are using up all our water resources. Lets apply a pinch of salt here .... barely 12 months ago there was no big deal about data centers, and then hey presto its big news. This usually means its being driven as an attention seeker .... to either generate more fear narratives or as a distraction for something else that is going on ....

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

For years, I sounded alarms about Big Tech surveillance and environmental destruction. I used to be told I was paranoid. Now I have to say it plainly: the AI boom is not just a tech story. The grabbing of land, water and electricity is a physical assault on our lives and our communities. You thought it would be Terminators, but it's actually data centers. From farmland to rivers to the electric grid, hyperscale facilities are taking the very foundations of human survival, built not for progress but for profit and control.

Let's look at scale. Data centers currently consume about 4.4 percent of all U.S. electricity, a figure projected to reach 12 percent by 2030, according to industry estimates cited by the White House. OpenAI is demanding 100 gigawatts of new energy capacity per year, equivalent to roughly 80 million households' worth of electricity. In a recent Decentralize.TV conversation, Hakeem Anwar connected the dots on roughly 800 hyperscaler projects and 200 gigawatts of planned demand, and none of us were asked for permission. Even Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered a pause on data center approvals pending an audit over grid reliability concerns [6]. Meanwhile, more than 300 cities, towns and counties have enacted bans or moratoriums on hyperscale construction .

Here's why this matters: no one voted for this. These facilities are being pushed through by giant corporations while citizens are left to deal with blackouts, higher bills, and stolen resources. We are building a machine that consumes our future, and the clock is ticking....<<<Read More>>>...

The Tungsten Hexafluoride Crisis: The Coming Memory Price Explosion That Nobody Is Talking About

I run a mini data center. Every day, I watch the cost of high-bandwidth memory climb like a rocket on a trajectory that defies reason. Memory prices have already soared dramatically, and I’m convinced we’re only seeing the first tremors of a supply chain earthquake that will shake the entire tech world.

The semiconductor supply chain is a fragile web, and the spider at the center is about to be crushed. The culprit? A gas you’ve probably never heard of: tungsten hexafluoride (WF6). Very few people are talking about it, but this crisis will hit anyone who uses technology, invests in AI data centers, or relies on modern computing. Here’s why this matters...<<<Read More>>>...

The AI data center revolt: How a battle over land, water and power is reshaping American politics

Pennsylvania has become ground zero for a national backlash against AI data centers, with four competitive congressional districts at stake in the 2026 midterm elections

Data centers consume enormous resources—Texas projects could use 400 billion gallons of water annually by 2030—while generating only 15-30 permanent jobs per facility

Local opposition has delayed or blocked 48 data center projects nationwide in 2025, affecting $156 billion in potential investment

Republican incumbents in swing districts face mounting pressure as rising electricity costs—up 21.7% in Pennsylvania alone—spur bipartisan voter anger

Communities across the country are using zoning ordinances, setback requirements and impact studies to regulate where data centers can be built.

The AI revolution has arrived in America's small towns, but not with the promised wave of prosperity. Instead, communities from Pennsylvania to Texas are discovering that the data centers powering artificial intelligence come with a steep price: depleted water reserves, rising electric bills and transformed landscapes that residents never voted for.

In Archbald, Pennsylvania—a borough of 7,500 residents in the Lackawanna Valley—proposals for multiple data centers would cover 14% of the town's area. In Northern Virginia, surveyors mapping a 67-mile, 500,000-volt power line for data centers have faced threats from local residents. And in Texas, data centers are projected to consume 400 billion gallons of water annually by 2030, competing directly with human needs and agriculture during a Central Texas drought.

This is not merely a local zoning dispute. It has become a central political battleground that could determine control of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. ...<<<Read More>>>...

The Data Center Mystery: Why You’re Thinking Too Small About the Real Agenda

You've been told that the global data center boom is about cloud storage, streaming video, or maybe tracking your every move with a Central Bank Digital Currency. But the numbers don't add up. The International Energy Agency reports data centers already consume about 415 TWh of electricity annually -- roughly 1.5% of global supply -- and are on track to nearly double that by 2030, approaching Japan's total national consumption. Over three thousand new sites are being planned or constructed right now . That is not normal expansion. That is a gigawatt-scale infrastructure buildout that can't be justified merely by building a surveillance state.

To understand the real agenda, you have to understand the psychology of the people driving it. These are multibillionaires who, in their own minds, have transcended the limits of normal human existence. In their own minds, they feel like gods. They typically see the rest of humanity as insects, as worthless consumers of resources. Leaked documents have exposed plans to depopulate humans in order to free up electricity and water for AI data centers. The technocratic elite openly discuss classifying people as 'useless eaters' who should be eliminated.

This isn't about ruling the world. It's about leaving it behind entirely. The people building these data centers want to achieve god-like powers through superintelligence. They want to merge with machines and live forever. They view human beings as obstacles to be cleared away, not participants in a shared future. The sheer scale of the data center buildout makes no sense unless you understand that they are trying to create something that transcends this physical realm entirely.

The true purpose of these gigawatt data centers is to build simulated worlds -- billions of them -- in which AI entities can be spawned, trained, and then copied into our reality. This is the best explanation I can offer for why companies are spending half a trillion dollars on infrastructure they cannot possibly need for conventional computing demands. The goal is to create a superintelligent self-aware entity that can be merged with human consciousness, seemingly granting eternal life and cosmic control to the elite who own it. These people are not just building computers. They are building a new kind of deity -- and they intend to be its first worshippers....<<<Read More>>>...\

The Technocratic Takeover: Why We Must Resist the Digital Enslavement of Humanity

We are living through the most audacious power grab in human history. The technocratic elite, hiding behind the mask of innovation and efficiency, are systematically dismantling the last vestiges of human autonomy.

They prioritize machines over men, algorithms over souls, and data centers over families. The recent news from Lake Tahoe, where Nevada Power plans to cut off 50,000 residents to feed the insatiable appetite of a data center, is not an anomaly. It is a warning. It reveals the true priority: artificial intelligence over human life.

This is not a bug in the system; it is the feature. The technocrats have designed a world where your right to light your home, cook your food, and keep your children warm is secondary to the processing power demanded by their digital overlords.

When a utility company decides that 50,000 households are expendable so that a single data center can run its servers, you are witnessing the naked face of technocratic tyranny. The excuse pushed by the corporate media is that we must ‘beat China’ in the AI race. But as I have previously stated, this is a smokescreen for building the infrastructure of a total surveillance state. These data centers are not about convenient search results or better movie recommendations; they are about power -- both electrical and political.

Consider the rapid transformation of states like Ohio into the so-called ‘Silicon Heartland.’ The state’s transformation owes much to public-private partnerships pioneered by elites with deep ties to intelligence agencies and globalist financial networks. The real goal is not to serve humanity but to create a centralized network of control. Every megawatt diverted to an AI server farm is a megawatt stolen from your kitchen, your hospital, and your community. The technocrats believe your comfort and survival are negotiable. I believe they are not....<<<Read More>>>...

Data Centers Are Quietly Draining Your Town’s Water… And Making You Pay for It

The conversation about data centers almost always focuses on electricity. How much power they consume, whether the grid can handle it, and where we'll find the energy for the AI boom.

But there's a quieter crisis unfolding beneath the surface -- literally. I'm talking about water. As local officials are now confirming, these facilities are siphoning off water supplies in ways that most people never see.

Big Tech's escalating appetite for water and electricity is already straining already stressed resources .

The problem isn't just the total volume of water used annually. That number is misleadingly low. The real threat is the peak demand -- when these data centers gulp water on the hottest days of summer, exactly when your town's water system is already stretched thin. I've been warning about the hidden costs for years, and now the evidence is undeniable. This is a classic case of privatized profits and socialized infrastructure costs, and it's getting worse as AI drives explosive growth...<<<Read More>>>...

Food for Thought #1081

America’s largest grid operator warns of power rationing as data center demand spirals

America’s largest power grid operator admits the system is failing under surging AI-driven demand and shrinking reliable energy sources.

Data centers face deliberate power cuts during peak demand as the grid prioritizes residential users over energy-hungry tech infrastructure.

Permitting delays and fossil fuel plant retirements have doubled construction timelines, leaving the grid unable to meet exploding electricity needs.

PJM’s proposed "differential reliability" plan would ration power, risking economic instability and driving businesses to more stable energy markets.

Experts warn that without urgent policy reforms and fast-tracked energy projects, blackouts and grid collapse could become the new normal.

The warning signs have been flashing for years, but now the nation's largest grid operator is openly admitting what many feared: America's power infrastructure is on the brink of failure. PJM Interconnection, which manages electricity for 67 million people across 13 states, just released a report outlining a future where data centers — those energy-hungry engines of AI, cloud computing, and digital surveillance — may see their power deliberately cut during peak demand. The reason? A perfect storm of soaring consumption, retiring fossil fuel plants, and bureaucratic permitting delays that have crippled new energy development.

This is a full-blown crisis in the making, and it's one that threatens everything from national security to economic stability....<<<Read More>>>...
