Update: Man Arrested Over Madeleine 'Fraud'

Dutch police have arrested a man on suspicion of trying to defraud the parents of missing Madeleine McCann. The 39-year-old allegedly pretended to know the whereabouts of four-year-old Madeleine and her kidnappers. He is also accused of demanding a payment of £1.3m in return for the information, prosecutors in Holland said. They added that following his arrest, the man, whose name has not been released, confessed to making the whole story up.And there was no evidence he had any actual information about her whereabouts. Madeleine has been missing since early May, when she disappeared while on holiday in Portugal with her parents. The suspect sent six e-mails addressed to Madeleine's parents from an internet cafe and an unemployment office, authorities said.

At the request of British and Portuguese police, Dutch officers gave the investigation "the highest priority" and traced the e-mails to the suspect".Prosecutors said "out of boredom he had started to play with the feelings of Madeleine's parents."They went on: "Money was probably his motive although he claims he did not really expect to get it."Local police believe Madeleine is still in Portugal, Sky News has learnt.A tireless campaign to raise awareness of her disappearance has led her parents, Kate and Gerry, to several countries, including Spain, Germany and Morocco.(Sky News)

*Insight*

It appears from the news story, this is just one more bounty hunter on this 'mystical' trail. Mystical as in miraculous and full of mysteries ... another enchanting strand; another episode in this far travelling sojourn. In all probability this is likely to have elements of reality within it. However, it seems nothing to do with the main steam of the case. A 'safe bet' for someone somewhere to have this news story printed, to keep public awareness on the situation. Meanwhile the truth still remains hidden ... as the charioteer averts our attention once more to where he gazes ... as our attention focuses on this news story, our attention is not elsewhere.

Also it perhaps could be taken as a warning for other would be bounty hunters ... not to bother trying to defraud the McCanns, this is what will happen to those who try this.

Suspicions however are raised with elements of this news story. It requires more thought and more contemplation ... there is something apparently 'significant' underlying the supposed events.
