X Files-style Ministry of Defence documents released as part of a Freedom of Information request say 394 mysterious hovering objects have been seen in our skies between January and the end of last month.Among the sightings, a pilot said he saw a 30ft-long black cylinder above his plane in Otmoor, Oxfordshire and a giant bright orange UFO was spotted hovering over Gorey Castle, near Jersey airport, earlier this year. Gary Heseltine, a British Transport Police officer and UFO expert, said yesterday: “There is no doubt in my mind that a small number of these sightings are genuine extraterrestrial phenomena.
“The fact is, so many people have UFO sightings but are afraid to report it for fear of ridicule.” (Daily Express)
