For thousands of years, the ancient Chinese practice of feng shui has offered a way to bring greater harmony and balance into our living spaces. Literally translated as “wind and water,” feng shui draws upon the principles of yin and yang and the five elements to encourage the flow of positive energy, known as chi. By thoughtfully arranging our surroundings, we can create spaces that evoke feelings of stability, comfort, support, and inner peace.
Adjusting color schemes, rearranging furniture, and clearing away clutter are all ways to invite in nourishing goodness throughout your home. Your material belongings and decor should create feelings of joy. Things that don’t uplift your spirit or offer fulfillment can be removed so they won’t weigh you down. Of course, letting go isn’t always easy. But as we release what no longer serves us, we make room for new possibilities — sparking noticeable change in our attitude and outlook on life. (Daily OM)
