Scientists find a 'hint of life' on Saturn's moon Titan

Scientists have found evidence that there is life on Saturn's biggest moon, Titan. They have discovered clues that primitive aliens are breathing in Titan's atmosphere and feeding on fuel at the surface. The startling discoveries, made using an orbiting spacecraft, are revealed in two separate reports. Data from Nasa's Cassini probe has analysed the complex chemistry on the surface of Titan - the only moon known to have a dense atmosphere. Its surface is covered with mountains, lakes and rivers which has led astronomers to call it the most Earthlike world in the solar system. Organic chemicals had already been detected on the 3,200-mile wide planet. But the liquid on Titan is not water but methane and the scientists expect life there to be methane-based. The first paper, in the journal Icarus, shows that hydrogen gas flowing down through Titan's atmosphere disappears at the surface, suggesting it could be being breathed by alien bugs. The second paper, in the Journal of Geophysical Research, reports there is a lack of a certain chemical on the surface, leading scientists to believe it may be being consumed by life. (Daily Mail)

UFO spotted over eastern Australia

An astronomer says a bright spiralling light spotted in the sky by people across eastern Australia was probably a satellite, space junk or a rocket. The UFO was seen moving through the sky just before Saturday's sunrise in New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT. ABC News Online has received dozens of emails, pictures and videos from those who claim to have witnessed the huge white light.

Some described it as a "lollipop-type swirl". Others say it hovered for a while before gradually moving in an eastern direction until it was out of sight. Those who saw the object say photos do not reflect how large it actually was. Geoffrey Whyatt from the Sydney Observatory says it was probably a satellite, space junk or a rocket. "The fact that you've got the rotation, the spiral effect, is very reminiscent of the much widely reported sightings from Norway and Russia last year, which both turned out to be a Bulava missile which was being adjusted in its orbit," he said. "So possibly a rocket, I would say, having some sort of gyroscopic stability rocket fired on its side." Mr Whyatt says it is a rare phenomenon. "The first I saw of the spirals was last year when they were reported in Norway and then a few days later in Russia," he said. Exploring an Alternate Universe

All people have their own way of being in the world. It is easiest to comprehend this basic yet profound fact when we consider that every human being on the planet occupies a distinct role in the universe. We grow up in different environments, affected by a unique range of influences. The preferences, values, and beliefs we embrace are frequently related intimately to our origins. And the need to individualize our experiences is instinctive, as doing so enables us to cope when we must face challenges on our own. Consequently, each of us has developed a perspective that is uniquely ours. Interacting peacefully and constructively with people from all walks of life is a matter of first understanding where they are coming from. Then we can adjust our expectations so that we avoid making undue assumptions about what they are about. In the face of emerging interpersonal conflict, it is easy to assume that others are being difficult, unreasonable, or stubborn. We are apt to grow frustrated when someone in our environment does not share our opinions or feel compelled to support us in our endeavors. It is likely that the individual or individuals before us may simply possess differing notions with regard to what is and what is not important in this life. We can ease the tension that exists between us by reaffirming our belief in the fundamental right of all beings to determine their own destinies. To foster a harmonious relationship, we need to do our best to relate to the unique universes they inhabit. And as we discover what makes them tick, our ability to find a mode of interaction that is pleasing to both of us is enhanced. When there are barriers keeping you from connecting with someone else, think of questions you can ask them to gain a more thorough understanding of their point of view. You may discover that in addition to the differences in perspective dividing you, they are subject to insecurities and other personal issues that influence their way of seeing the world. It is likely that you will never fully grasp the myriad complexities embodied by humanity, but you can go a long way toward encouraging mutually satisfying relations by reaching out to others in the spirit of sympathetic comprehension.

The Ace of Disks

The Ace of Disks marks, on the everyday level, the start of a new project, which is likely to be successful. So it will come up to show a new job, or a new business venture. Usually this will be the sort of project that seems to continuously keep on growing, with each level of attainment producing - almost of itself - the next step in the journey.

Sometimes the Ace will come up to indicate a sudden change of material fortune, or a windfall - though either of these would have to be quite substantial to invoke the Ace. Aces are always big influences, marking the beginning of something new and important. So if we see the card coming up to represent a sudden input of funds, expect this to cause major changes in the querent's life.
On a more spiritual level, this card relates to the Earth, and to the appreciation of Nature. It might mark a period where we draw closer to environmental issues, or where we engage in a period of study, contemplation and alignment with Earth forces.

One thing that we often miss, when considering spiritual development, is the way that each development grows out of the last. Anyone who has been involved in the search for spiritual truth will already have experienced the weirdly coincidental manner in which spiritual opportunities and teachers present themselves at the relevant stage in our growth.

There's a saying - 'The right teacher only appears when the student is ready'. It is as though we grow spiritually from the inside, the same way that trees do. And in so doing, maybe we develop inner rings - just like a tree's trunk. The outer ring, just under the bark could not exist without all of the others it encircles.

We're basically the same. The topic that we are exploring today has grown from all of the earlier topics we have looked into. Our experience is formed in layers, each of which is inter-dependent with the earlier ones. The Ace of Disks relates very closely with this method of human development - it shows us the way we grow. The Weakest Link

"They were there again, appearing like a shadow out of the hawthorn row. They had sensed my distress, the preceding voice had said, and had come to ease my beleaguered spirit. They had witnessed Brother Simon’s fury and admired the way I had merely stood there with stone clad mane. I had appeared so calm, and had kept the situation well under control. I had been angry, and had stormed out of the kitchens and had made my way through the gardens and onto the terraces of the hill.

It was a warm sunny summer’s day and my toil had formed a sweat on my brow. The cackle of ravens overhead had broken the spell of my day dream. As I approached the entrance to the cavern I knew I was no longer alone. I sat on a tree stump and admired the view over the downs towards the distant sea. There was a mist and a heat haze forming. It was still morning and I was worried I would be missed, for it was my turn to do the kitchen chores. I had the bread to raise and the ovens to clean. Brother Dominic would be cursing me by now.

Three of the Sidhe appeared like shadows in front of me. There gaze was intense looking straight through me into the centre of my soul. I was fearless and my intentions were pure. I felt their power and knew what they needed from me. There was a real need. Unrest existed in the hamlet which was sprawled around the abbey. Dark intentions existed there in the hearts of greedy and god fearing men. And at large in the world of man, they told me, wars were afoot. A danger threatened the very existence of the abbey. Its destruction was inevitable. I was to leave the abbey, but not for a while. There were others there who they contacted too. Others who kept the links secret as did I. There individuals were being forewarned too. Soon would come the time we would all be introduced, but before our inevitable discovery. For one was going to betray us and The Sidhe. One was not as strong as the rest. One was the weakest link. One was going to be forced to reveal what he knew. The Sidhe revealed this person was myself and the discovery was so necessary. Part of the great workings of life. I had to escape before I was murdered as a witch.

It was a chilling portend that filled my head as I made my way back to the abbey. As I entered the kitchens I could sense the impending gloom and the negative energies of that place. It was heavy in the air. I was scared. I knew that any time I could be called before The Elders and that would spell the end for me.

It was thus time to become detective and seek out the other monks who were in contact with The Sidhe. The Sidhe were adamant they were not going to reveal to me the identity of the others ... it was down to me to learn their identities ..."

The 13 Preambles of Wicca - 7: Keep your Words in Good Order

This follows suit to article 6 above. After you have thought about what you are going to say carefully speak those words. Speak in a manner that is soothing and peaceful and try to avoid emotions like anger, hate and frustration in your speech. We can get so caught up in an emotional swirl that we sometimes forget to not express that in our speech. We can certainly tell the person how we are feeling and that sort of discussion is great, that way no one leaves feeling unwanted or insecure with themselves.

Cycling to Find Missing Son

DAY after day this week, Ken Thompson will jump on his trusty bicycle and pedal hundreds of miles past some of the most stunning scenery in Britain. But from dawn until dusk there is only one beautiful image that will consume his thoughts - the face of the cherished son he has travelled thousands of miles to find. Once upon a time, keen cyclist Ken delighted in pulling three-year-old Andrew behind him in a little carriage. In fact, he can still recall the magical sound of the little boy's laughter as the pair tripped over bumps in the road and waved to smiling passers-by. Now there is only a trail of sadness behind Ken after his partner Melinda Thompson (nee Stratton), a former nurse, cruelly snatched Andrew from the family home in Sydney, Australia, on 24 April 2008 and fled the country. Her actions have made her an international fugitive wanted in 200 countries but to date, police efforts and Interpol alerts have failed to find her.

Ken, 56, can wait no longer. Melinda, 48, once worked in London and there is a possibility she has brought Andrew to the UK so Ken is determined to take his crusade to every corner of the country - by bike. He says: "I will never stop cycling until I find my son. Being apart from him has almost broken me but even if I have to search for him forever, I will do it. All it takes is one person who knows where Andrew is to see his picture on my bike or read our story. I had to think of something that would attract attention and I came up with the idea of a bike ride. Ken's relationship with Melinda had a fairytale beginning but an insecure and jealous streak soon emerged in his new girlfriend. "Melinda hailed from Perth and told me how she began her career in nursing. She left for the UK in her late Twenties and lived in the Docklands area of East London. She worked in both private hospitals and NHS accident and emergency departments. Then she studied for an MBA business degree and worked in sales and marketing for medical development companies in Germany and France. She said she had returned to Australia to be close to her family, although with hindsight it was odd that she had headed for Sydney when her family were far away in Perth."

Ken was captivated by his dinner date and the attraction appeared mutual. Within months the pair had moved into a smart Sydney suburb and Melinda was pregnant with their first child. Ken says: "We both thought we had left it too late to have children so Andrew was extra special. He was born on 19 August 2004 and I cut the umbilical chord. I instantly fell in love with him and felt an overwhelming need to protect him and Melinda."

Melinda appeared happy in her new role as a mum but pangs of jealousy and irrationality had begun to make Ken feel uneasy. He explains: "She accused me more than once of having an affair completely out of the blue. Once I came home from a bike ride and she said I must have been with another woman because I didn't look sweaty enough to have been exercising. Sadly, family life in the Thompson household took a sinister turn for the worse on 6 December 2007. Ken returned home at 10pm from a rare Christmas drinks evening out to find Melinda cold and hostile towards him. He says: "As usual, she wouldn't discuss her feelings and I assumed she had irrationally deduced that I was having an affair and believed it would blow over as it normally did - but it didn't."

In the following days, Melinda's behaviour became increasingly strange and she began subtly trying to keep father and son apart. She also accused Andrew's doting 88-year-old grandmother (Ken's mother) of not loving her son and said she believed that Andrew's day-care provider had been bullying him. Finally, she told Ken she wanted to talk things through with her brother John, who also lives in Sydney, and proposed to go with Andrew and live with him for a short period. Ken agreed in the vain hope that Melinda's brother would help her see sense. But on 28 January 2008, Ken was left reeling from shock after he found a note from Melinda pushed through the door of their home. He says: "It said that the marriage was over and there was no chance of reconciliation because she believed I had been abusing Andrew. It also said that an investigation was underway by the authorities. "What it didn't say was that the authorities had already investigated and concluded that there was no basis to her claims. I was an absolute mess but close friends sensibly pointed me in the direction of a lawyer." A bitter court battle ensued and Melinda was ultimately in receipt of a psychiatric report commissioned by a judge that stated she has a tendency to interpret innocent behaviour in the most sinister way and added that she has a 'serious underlying mental state causing her to form beliefs that aren't true.' Ken says: "The next day she was on a plane. I know that she and Andrew flew from Sydney to Singapore and then on to Frankfurt but after that the trail went cold. Worryingly, the court psychiatrist has since concluded that he has 'serious and grave concerns for Andrew's physical and emotional safety.' I HAVE to find my son."


An international search for Andrew has been in progress since his abduction. It is the largest search ever undertaken for a child abducted from Australia. It includes Interpol; the Australian Federal Police; missing children organisations in the UK; USA; Canada; Europe; Asia, and Australia. But so far Andrew, now almost 6, remains hidden. Ken says: "Melinda is a clever, determined woman and I wouldn't be surprised if she is getting help from some sort of underground movement. There is a strong possibility that she is here in the UK. We used to talk about going to live in Europe and she would always say that Britain would be the best place to go. So please, please help me to look for my son. (The Sun)

The Long Dark Night of the Soul

We've all heard of "The Long Dark Night of the Soul," but what is it, really?

The Druids did not shy away from the dark. They were well acquainted with the principle of working through the darkness to get to the light. At one time, the Irish method of initiating Druids into Arch Druids was to seal them in a cave for three days and three nights without food, water, light, sound or any sensory input other than the cold, hard stone of the cave floor and walls. Within that period, they had to prove their readiness for Arch Druidship by becoming one with their Higher Selves - evidenced by the fact that they could translocate their physical bodies to the outside of the sealed cave entrance. The cave initiation was the Druids' Dark Night of the Soul intensive - a Short Dark Night of the Soul, you might say. It was not merely the isolation and utter darkness that killed or drove the initiates mad. It was the opening up of their subconscious and unleashing of all their inner demons, while simultaneously sealed off in isolation and utter darkness, that had a strong potential to drive them insane. The way to be able to survive and handle the experience was to connect and become one with their Higher Selves.

And that's what the Dark Night of the Soul is. "It is the opening up of the subconscious, and the emptying out of all that is there. And that is no small thing. Our minds are like icebergs." The conscious mind is only the small part sticking up above the surface. Most of it is below, unknown to us. Imagine suddenly becoming aware of 20 times more thoughts, feelings and programming than you knew of before - much of it from infantile periods of life and thus quite illogical, crazy, even 'insane.' When the boundary between the conscious mind and the subconscious vanishes and all that has been suppressed in the subconscious starts flooding our minds within a relatively short timeframe, even the spiritual and emotional super heroes among us will find it utterly challenging to maintain their sanity. In the case of the Druids, even with years of preparation and training, only a few succeeded.

And so it is with the Long Dark Night of the Soul as well. Talk of it may sound darkly mysterious and exciting, even romantic. But going through it feels nothing of the sort and it is definitely not anything to play with. A Word on 'Transient lunar phenomenon'

A transient lunar phenomenon (TLP), or lunar transient phenomenon (LTP), is a short-lived light, color, or change in appearance on the lunar surface.

Claims of short-lived phenomena go back at least 1,000 years, with some having been observed independently by multiple witnesses or reputable scientists. Nevertheless, the majority of transient lunar phenomenon reports are irreproducible and do not possess adequate control experiments that could be used to distinguish among alternative hypotheses. Few reports concerning these phenomena are ever published in peer reviewed scientific journals, the lunar scientific community rarely discusses these observations.

The 13 Preambles of Wicca - 6: Keep your Thought is Good Order

This article is twofold in nature. First it talks about the power of positive thought. Not allowing negative thought patterns to enter your mind is a large part of keeping thoughts in good order. The more that you focus on positive things the more that you will attract those things, as we know from learning about the power of intention. Second, it talks about thinking before you speak. So many people blurt out what they want to say regardless of if it is going to damage someone else in thought or emotion. Think hard about what you are going to say before it is said. Make a conscious effort to plan your words carefully so that what you say can aid in allowing for the greatest good for the persons that you are speaking to.

Slaughter in the Lake District: Taxi driver Derrick Bird's first victim was his twin brother

A trivial row over rivals stealing fares is believed to have sparked a taxi driver's horrific killing spree which left 13 dead yesterday. After a heated argument on Tuesday night, Derrick Bird is said to have stormed off saying: 'There's going to be a rampage tomorrow.' Bird, 52, awoke next morning to commit the worst massacre in Britain since Dunblane in 1996. After shooting dead his twin brother, a solicitor and a taxi driver, he calmly unleashed carnage across the area to the west of the Lake District over the following three hours. With a shotgun and high-powered rifle pointing from the window of his Citroen Picasso taxi he went on a 20-mile terror drive, killing another nine at random before shooting himself. Experiences Shape Your Reactions

Our view of the universe is largely determined by our experiences. It is when we are caught off guard by the spontaneity of existence that we are most apt to respond authentically, even when our feelings do not correspond with those of the multitude. Events that arouse strong emotions with us or are surprising in nature can be disquieting, for it often is in their aftermath that we discover how profoundly our histories have shaped us. The differences that divide us from our peers are highlighted in our reactions when these diverge from the mainstream, and this can be highly upsetting because it forces us to confront the uniqueness of our lives. When our response to unexpected news or startling ideas is not the same as that of the people around us, we may feel driven by a desire to dismiss our feelings as irrational or incorrect. But reactions themselves are neither right, nor wrong. The forces that sculpted the patterns that to a large extent dictate our development are not the same forces that shaped the development of our relatives, friends, colleagues, or neighbors. There is no reason to believe that one person's reaction to a particular event is somehow more valid than another's. How we respond to the constant changes taking place in the world around us is a product of our history, a testament to our individuality, and a part of the healing process that allows us to address key elements of our past in a context we can grasp in the present. Life's pivotal events can provide you with a way to define yourself as a unique and matchless being, but you must put aside the judgments that might otherwise prevent you from gaining insight into your distinct mode of interpreting the world. Try to internalize your feelings without categorizing or evaluating them. When you feel unsure of the legitimacy of your reactions, remember that cultural, sociological, spiritual, and familial differences can cause two people to interpret a single event in widely dissimilar ways. Examining your responses outside of the context provided by others can show you that your emotional complexity is something to be valued, for it has made you who you are today.

It is the best place to hide such a precious commodity. All around the Shining Star are apparent disjointed and disconnected events, like jigsaw pieces which will fit together when viewed in the correct light. An assessment of this random insight has created a rent in the impenetrable wall of distraction once more. The bottom line of three images indicate there is an agenda behind the mystery. An apparent conflict ... an uncovering of things best kept hidden supposedly, be wary; for it could be part of the agenda. A further smokescreen perhaps. There is a living and breathing behind all of this ... an innocent. It is what she represents, what she perhaps carries in her DNA? This is a concept considered before. But how viable is it to the situation. Her family appear to be pawns in a massive situation. There cannot be a discovery of those behind the situation ...

Neighbours Who Keep the Curtains Closed and a Boy Who Likes to Draw Guns Among 'Suspects' of Terror Hotline

'A schoolboy 'obsessed' with drawing pictures of bombs and guns, and a neighbour who liked to keep his curtains drawn, are among dozens of people being reported to a police scheme aimed to unearth potential terrorists.

Critics of the Channel Project say it encourages people to spy on their neighbours, but police claim the scheme's aim is to prevent 'vulnerable people' becoming radicalised. Dozens of people in East Lancashire, mainly aged between 15 and 24, have been reported to police for having either extremist Islamic views, far-right leanings and or being IRA sympathisers.

The Nature Of Dreaming: A Doorway Into Multiple Realities

There are different kinds of dreams that we dream, and each has a value in its own right and must be taken seriously as a representative of an aspect of our consciousness.Some dreams seem peripheral to everyday life. They have fantastic characters, absurd plots, and linger in our minds for a very brief period of time because they seem to make no sense at all to our conscious waking experience.

Other dreams have a strong emotional message that can be felt in the body, even if the actual content of the dream is not entirely understood. Often, the emotional component of a dream message is the central aspect of the teaching, and so it is often not necessary to understand the content further, no matter how much it might add to our knowledge.

Finally, there are dreams whose emotional content and meaning is very clear and very relevant to our conscious waking state. These dreams also fall into several distinct categories: There are those that have to do with everyday life – with relationships, past or present, with longings or fears that we are aware of, with repetitive themes in our mental or emotional experience. These dreams seem to offer a commentary, directly or indirectly, on the life we lead.

There are other dreams, however, which seem to catapult us into a different life and often into a different reality altogether, where space and time feel different, where we experience ourselves on a deep inner level as different from our normal self-perception, and where a message from the beyond may come through to our consciousness that is as real and as potent as anything that we might feel or think that is more familiar to us.

Accepting Criticism

Many highly intelligent motivated professionals let their habitual emotional reactions get in the way of learning. Even some of us who say we relish constructive criticism can have strong emotional reactions when we receive negative feedback about our attitudes and behavior. It is easy to become defensive and shut out what others have to tell us.

Hard truths about our personality and behavior often generate emotions that block the impetus for change. We feel vulnerable when confronted by personal flaws or shortcomings and, in that state, some of us are unable to take a constructive approach to identifying the solutions that will make us more successful and satisfied. This may be especially true if the input or feedback you receive is surprising to you and you are taken aback.

People commonly exhibit three emotional reactions to feedback that interfere with their ability to learn from it: rather than accept responsibility for our behavior, we often ignore, deny, or blame someone or something else. These defensive reactions are so second nature that you may not be aware you are responding defensively to feedback. But it is important to understand that any of these three emotional reactions will prevent you from learning from feedback and using constructive problem-solving methods to improve.

Each of these emotional reactions is described below, and while you read through the descriptions, think whether these emotional reactions play a role in your psychological defenses. Do you try to ignore feedback about areas you need to develop? Do you find that you would rather deny than confront issues in your life? Robots with 'human' vision to be used to work in nuclear reactors

Scientists are developing robots that have eyesight that works in the same way as human vision.
The robots will be able to determine what is the most important object in its field of vision and act accordingly, just like humans do.

Scientists hope that the technology will let 'intelligent' robots operate inside dangerous places like nuclear reactors where it would too dangerous for humans to enter.The advanced robot vision is being developed as part of a European project that uses a sensor that employs a complicated digital imaging process known as ‘3D foveation’.

Current laser scanning technology means that robots sample everything in their field of vision equally.

‘This means an object that is uninteresting for the robot will be sampled as equally dense as the object the robot is interacting with,’ the technical leader of the project, Jens Thielemann, told The Engineer magazine. ‘For instance, in case of a robot navigating a hallway and trying to avoid obstacles, a normal laser scanner will spend the same amount of time sampling objects that are far away and pose no danger to the robot, as it will spend on those nearby that can pose more imminent danger.’

The project team will correct this problem by adapting the robot’s vision so it mimics the processes carried out by the human eye.

Mr Thielemann said: ‘The central part of the eye has high spatial resolution, whereas the peripheral part of the eye has low spatial resolution. The peripheral part of the vision is used for detecting objects of interest due to colour, motion, edges, structure and used to move the fovea [the centre of the eye] towards the object of interest.’

Sophisticated new sensors will mimic this process by obtaining a coarse image of the scene and then uses computer software to work out which parts of the scene are of real interest to the robot. The team believes this technology will mean that the robots will one day have a more human-like understanding of their surroundings. (Daily Mail)

Experimental 'scramjet' sets hypersonic record as it flies at six times the speed of sound

Arcing through the hazy air above California, this is the incredible sight of a scramjet as it flies at six times the speed of sound. The experimental aircraft set a record for hypersonic flight, blazing through the air for more than three minutes at Mach 6, or more than 4,500 mph. The X-51A Waverider scramjet was released from a B-52 bomber last week before its engine took it to Mach 6 and it flew autonomously for 200 seconds. Scramjets work by using oxygen rushing in through the engine at supersonic speeds to ignite hydrogen fuel. In a conventional jet engine, spinning blades suck air into the engine and compress it for combustion. The next step up is the ramjet engine, powered by fuel burning after subsonic air is forced into the engine by the speed of the aircraft. But in scramjets, so-called because they are 'supersonic combustion ramjets', airflow throughout the engine remains supersonic - using the oxygen in the incoming air to ignite hydrogen fuel. The expanding hot gases from combustion accelerate the exhaust air to create tremendous thrust. The engines could slash satellite launch costs, because there is no need for liquid oxygen as fuel. At least one man was killed and others are missing after a three-storey building fell into a 200ft-deep sink hole in Guatemala City.

Tropical storm Agatha, the first named storm of the 2010 Pacific season, slammed into Guatemala and neighbouring El Salvador at the weekend, dumping more than three feet of rain in the region.

The enormous crater appeared while the city was being ravaged with high winds, torrential rain and deadly mudslides. Witnesses claim at least one man was in the three-storey building when it was swallowed up at a downtown intersection, and others remain missing.

Agatha has killed at least 146 people across Central America, and has sparked fears for the economies of Guatemala and El Salvador - as there has been widespread damage to the coffee crop in both countries.

'I've got no one to help me. I watched the water take everything,' said Carlota Ramos in the town of Amatitlan near the Guatemalan capital, crying into her hands outside her brick house almost completely swamped by mud.

As the sun came out, exhausted rescue workers hauled away stones and tree trunks from crushed houses as they fought to reach wounded people and find dozens still missing. 'We just have shovels and picks. We don't have any machinery to dig,' said firefighter Mario Cruz, who had been working almost nonstop since Friday night.(Daily Mail)

Many thanks for the interest ... let me apologise for choosing to respond in this way i.e: adding the question on to A Light In The Darkness, and not answer you personally. There have been a number of similar e-mails in recent weeks, so I concluded the need to answer at least one of them.

My impressions of Madeleine's wellbeing hasn't changed. I still feel her life signs, and remain convinced she is living & breathing on the earthplane. In recent weeks life has become very hectic with workload and commitments, so dedicating myself to the space required for a Daily Merlin Insight is proving to be difficult. There is also the sense of a 'writer's block' with regard to acquiring new information. I cannot put my finger on the 'how' ... but somewhere someone (Or something) is putting out this block. It seems far fetched, but it is the only way to describe the way that the 'camera lens' has been shut tight with my remote viewing of Madeleine! Pinpointing her exact location is proving very challenging. But sensing her wellbeing is not. However, new insights have not been received in recent weeks. There appears also a reason behind the radio silence I've been lulled into. It will not always be the case ... so please bear with me --- Matthew James

The Two of Swords

The Lord of Peace is a friendly Sword, which comes as something of a relief when we have spent so much time dealing with his more belligerent cousins. However it must be noted that the card often comes up to indicate that a conflict has been resolved or a breach healed, so there will have been trouble earlier on.

It indicates that a painful and difficult situation is being reconciled. Friendships are rebuilt, old wounds are healed. However in this context it is very important to look carefully at the cards which follow it, for there is often a feeling that a relationship will never be quite the same again as it was before the conflict or quarrel. If the 4 of Swords comes up nearby, this is a clear indication that one should remain cautious and thoughtful, not giving too much in the way of trust, for some time. If the Moon was up in the reading, we would be forced to consider the possibility that all is not as it seems.

At an inner level, the 2 of Swords really comes into its own, for it marks the period of tranquillity and calmness that can arise when we have finally made difficult decisions, and acted upon them. Often it will come up to show that, now we have got to grips with our confusion, we can rest and recover.

Fury and Despair as BP Admits Oil Could Gush for Months

'An uncontrollable fountain of oil could gush into the Gulf of Mexico until August, the Obama administration warned today, as BP conceded it was moving to a containment strategy after failing to plug the well at the centre of the most environmentally disastrous spill in US history.

As anger and despair grew in the coastal communities of Louisiana, BP began preparations to cut a leaking drill pipe on the ocean floor and attach a containment cap intended to capture at least some of the 12,000 to 19,000 barrels of crude spewing from its Macondo well every day.
