Maddie cops join the hunt for Suzanne

TOP cops at the centre of the bid to find Madeleine McCann have joined the search for missing Suzanne Pilley.

Baffled police called in the National Policing Improvement Agency experts after drawing a blank on the bookkeeper's disappearance. Suzanne, 38, was on her way to work in Edinburgh when she disappeared nearly two weeks ago. She was last spotted just 40 yards from her office.

The NPIA team are experts in missing person probes and hunts for buried murder victims. They wrote to Portuguese cops offering advice in the search for Maddie - who vanished three years ago - and helped Strathclyde Police in the case of Angelika Kluk, who was murdered by serial killer Peter Tobin in 2006.

Last night Lothian and Borders Assistant Chief Constable Iain Livingstone said: "The support is invaluable, as this kind of inquiry is rare. "Obviously we have grave concerns for Suzanne's safety. We can't rule out the possibility of a criminal act." (Read More ...)
