"Ladies and gentleman please give a big Evergreen welcome to our guest. I'm sure we're all in for a treat. I give you DANIEL STEVENS!"
The applause was loud and generous as he made his way on to the stage. He was nervous, but he was also confident. He welcomed the butterfly feeling in his solar plexus - it assured him with its presence. It meant his nervous system was fully functional.
He smiled as he felt the heat of the spotlights on him. This was it! There was now no turning back. All eyes were on him.
"Good evening ladies and gentleman", He began. His heart sounding loud to his sensitive ears. He glanced toward the front row for sight of Lisa and Angela before continuing, "It's so nice to be here in Salisbury. I must state before I begin that I cannot make any promises as to the proceedings tonight. I have no script, so I ask that YOU the audience help ME by opening your minds. In that way I can make a connection with those that wish to pass on information to you."
He immediately became aware of a presence close by - they were not going to desert him.
"Right, with that over with, who wishes to be my first victim?"
He smiled and felt himself begin to relax as he scanned the sea of raised hands before him. His eyes came to rest on a woman dressed in a yellow top close to the front left of the audience.
’There she is go to her“. The voice of Bets Gordon sounded loud in his right ear. He was not alone.
"Can I come to you please?" He wandered over to the front of the stage, and gesticulated for Paul to walk over to the third row with the microphone, "yes you dear, you with the yellow top."
"She's soon to be a lottery winner, Daniel!"
Not yet, Bets. Wait, I need her name and her number.
"Yes Daniel ... you can. Hi"
