Indications of the treachery and trickery which abounds within the workings of the situation. There is a theme of a woman apparently spurned ... watching on as a relationship seemed to blossom and grow ...the birth of children by 'illicit means against her religion' in her eyes ... seemed to create some kind of trigger to choose the family as fodder in a ritualistic situation ...  then the injustice and the linking of the child with 'the high priestess' and the child is kept away from the family ... but how does this insight link to the situation?
