In Search Of Self

Life goes on. You can choose to let life flow or get stuck and just keep spinning your wheels. Each day offers a chance to look at the brighter side of life and enjoy it. Each day is a chance to be connected with your divinity. Each day heralds a new beginning. You have to be part of it.The world never stands still. Time comes when battles that were once critical no longer top the list of priorities. That is if you learn to reconcile yourself with the past, sort out the precious lessons and move on.Take control of your life, validate yourself, honor and respect your being and most of all, love yourself. This is not about being aggressive, domineering and always in control and confrontational. It is not about becoming self-absorbed.Far from it. It is about offering a more compatible YOU in a relationship. There are inevitable bumps in any relationship, unavoidable falls and pitfalls. No problem lasts forever. There has to be a way to adjust your sails and enjoy the breeze, not get lost in the storm.Take stock of your life. What are your illusions? What is your reality? How do you deal with failure, with disappointments and the other elements that fuel stress? Are you just coping, mostly in a crisis management mode? What can you do?Sometimes, one's world, one's hopes and dreams come crashing with a big bang, a major shaking up of life. This is a chance to take a great leap of faith, to grow and strengthen your self-trust that is eroding. Move on without fear. Fear can be paralyzing. Move on instead with self-confidence. Have faith in yourself. Faith is enduring.Grab the chance to harness the power from the river of knowledge already flowing through your being, to take that first step to get up and move on to the next phase. Time to let go and really let go. Hanging on to personal loss builds up powerful negative blocks; these fuel anger, grief, bitterness, vindictiveness, distrust, confrontation, erodes self-confidence - all negative but very powerful energies. Over time, accumulation of these take its toll on your health...read more...

Government Loses Bid to Keep 7/7 Evidence Secret

'Home Secretary Theresa May has lost a legal bid to force the inquest into the 2005 London bombings to hear secret evidence behind closed doors.

Justice Heather Hallett, who is overseeing the inquests into the deaths of the 52 people killed in the suicide attacks, ruled earlier this month that she could not hear evidence detailing sensitive intelligence material in closed session.

She concluded that even if the public could be excluded, "interested parties," such as relatives of the victims, could not. May mounted a legal challenge to that decision, arguing that disclosing secret information could put Britain's national security at risk...Read more:

Natural structures on Mars? Unlikely. More probable are structures created by intelligent life.

The Law of Flexibility

This law involves a pragmatic acceptance of the present moment. We accept ourselves, others and current circumstances rather than a rigid resistance of the moment. It requires an alert and expansive state of awareness, and embracing and making constructive use of the moment. Stumbling blocks become stepping stones and problems become opportunities. Everything serves our highest good if we make good use of it. The serenity prayer used by Alcoholics Anonymous and other twelve step programs reflects this law. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." This prayer was drawn from Buddha's writings.

The Five of Wands

The Lord of Strife usually appears in a reading to indicate quarrels, conflict and discord. There is rarely anything of value to be gained from the disharmony introduced by this card - in fact, it will often indicate bitterness and argument for argument's sake. To try to determine how serious the strife will be, look for cards like 9 of Swords, 10 of Swords or the Tower to indicate a really bad situation. With cards such as the 8 of Wands or the 6 of Wands it's probable that the friction may clear an outstanding problem area. This card will often come up when some-one is very unhappy with a working situation - there is, perhaps, a clash of personality with somebody else; or perhaps the individual is unhappy with working practises. Often in this situation there's a tendency toward rashness and loss of control which can lead to further problems. Another time that the Lord of Strife will make an appearance is when we are in inner conflict - most often about something we consider to be immoral. This is probably the most significant type of problem that can be highlighted with this card. For instance, if we have taken an easy option, or a dishonest turn, and are now troubled by the voice of our conscience, we could expect to see the Lord of Strife appearing. In this case we need to set right whatever we believe we have done wrong - or failed to do altogether. We will not be at peace until we do. The 5 of Wands is a card that reminds us quite firmly about the ethical considerations that underpin the Suit of Wands. (Angel Paths)

Noticing The Unconscious

We can sometimes notice parts of the unconscious, or what it makes us do or feel. We may start feeling sad, scared or angry for no apparent reason, although it does seem to make sense somewhere inside. We may, as adults, sometimes start feeling like a child (and perhaps try to resist that feeling, as we are adults, right?). We may not feel much at all, having the same flat state all the time, while we can remember that this was not the case when we were young children. We may stay occupied with particular thoughts for long periods of time. We may fantasize about situations from the past, or things that might happen in the future. We can stay angry about things way longer than seems reasonable. Even when we realize that this doesn't actually help us in any way, we are not really able to stop doing that. We feel we need to protect or defend ourselves from some kind of emotional hurt quite often. While this need feels quite real, we often cannot quite put our finger on what it is exactly that is happening in us that needs protection. We have pretty standard ways of reacting to situations, that most of us take for granted. It seems that we just are that way, even when we think some of these patterns are not very helpful to living our lives satisfactorily. Some people seem to be able to get us to do things we had no intention of doing. When that isn't by some obvious display of force, we may even have no idea what actually made us change our mind. We are susceptible to manipulation....read more...

Do everything with a mind that lets go. Do not expect any praise or reward. If you let go a little, you will have a little peace. If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace. If you let go completely, you will know complete peace and freedom. Your struggles with the world will have come to an end.

The Law of Expansion

This law of a gradual evolutionary expansion of the consciousness indwelling every form is the cause of the spheroidal form of every life in the entire solar system. It is a fact in nature that all that is in existence dwells within a sphere. The sphere requires two types of force - rotary and spiral-cyclic to produce its own internal activity. The law of relativity, or the relation between all atoms, which produces that which is called Light, and which in its aggregated phenomena, forms that composite sphere, a solar system. It is also known as the law of expansive response, and its symbol is the flaming rosy sun with a sign in the center, a sign symbolizing the union of fire and water. . The ray energy is expansive energy of the 3rd ray, the adapting factor.

Big Pharma Researchers Working on Drug to Erase Your Memories

'Drug researchers are working on a mind-altering chemical that could erase your memories. It's all being pursued under the umbrella of "mental health" with claims that this could help victims of emotional trauma. The idea that you can "heal" a patient by chemically lobotomizing them is, of course, entirely consistent with the core mythology of modern medicine: If something's wrong, you should poison it, burn it, irradiate it or cut it out... and then pronounce the patient "healed!"

In the case of memory-erasing drugs, scientists are reportedly working on a drug that would remove certain proteins from the brain's "fear center." This is based on the ludicrous idea, by the way, that memories are recorded solely by physical proteins in the brain -- an idea that's obviously based on an entirely outmoded mechanistic model of the human mind and brain...Read more:

Terror on the Tube: Two Holes in Floor of Edgware Road Coach

'New evidence is emerging from the Inquest, which knocks a big hole in the official narrative. The Aldwich bomb story showed evidence of a blast effect down the central axis of the coach, more spread-out than one would expect from a single rucksack.
There were at least two major holes blown in the floor, in the Edgware road coach – we here review four witness statements to show this. An earlier discussion of Professor John Tulloch’s testimony located the position of the main ‘crater’ as right next to him....Read more

Walking with Awareness

Many of us take the benefits of walking for granted. Each day we limit the steps we take by driving or sitting for long periods of time. But walking even a few blocks a day has unlimited benefits – not only for our health, but our spirit as well, for as we walk, we connect with the earth. Even when walking on concrete, the earth is still beneath us, supporting us. Walking lets our body remember simpler times, when life was less complicated. This helps us slow down to the speed of our body and take the time to integrate the natural flow of life into our cellular tissue. Instead of running from place to place or thinking about how much more we can fit into our day, walking allows us to exist in the moment. Each step we take can lead us to becoming more mindful of ourselves and our feelings. Walking slows us down enough not only to pay attention to where we are in our body, but also to our breath. Taking time to simply notice our breath while we walk, through the length of our inhales and exhales, and becoming attuned to the way in which we breathe is taking a step towards mindfulness. When we become more mindful, we gradually increase our awareness of the environment around us and start to recognize that the normal flow of our thoughts and feelings are not always related to where we are in the present moment. Gradually we realize that the connection we have with the earth and the ground beneath our feet is all that is. By walking and practicing breathing mindfully we gain a sense of calm and tranquility -- the problems and troubles of the day slowly fade away because we are in the ‘now’. The simplicity and ease of a walking practice allows us to create time, space and awareness of our surroundings and of the wonders that lie within. Taking a few moments to walk each day and become more aware of our breath will in turn open the door for the beauty of the world around us to filter in.

Cadmium, Lead Found in Drinking Glasses

'Drinking glasses depicting comic book and movie characters such as Superman, Wonder Woman and the Tin Man from "The Wizard of Oz" exceed federal limits for lead in children's products by up to 1,000 times, according to laboratory testing commissioned by The Associated Press.

The decorative enamel on the superhero and Oz sets -- made in China and purchased at a Warner Brothers Studios store in Burbank -- contained between 16 percent and 30.2 percent lead. The federal limit on children's products is 0.03 percent.
The same glasses also contained relatively high levels of the even-more-dangerous cadmium, though there are no federal limits on that toxic metal in design surfaces...Read more:

The Law of Continuity of Consciousness.

The Universe is in a continuous and endless process of creation. Cosmic consciousness is a reality, and everything in creation is connected to everything else. The medium for the 'implicate order' of this relationship is consciousness. The fusion of individual consciousness and the universal consciousness (the building of the antahkarana) results in the development of universal knowledge, of omniscience (all science/all knowledge). Continuity of consciousness is achieved by us after the soul has been acknowledged, awakened, liberated and identified with the Whole (enlightenment). A step to achieve enlightenment is to be aware of our thoughts, emotions and actions, the faculty that enables us to be vigilant, observant or to know.

Right Where We Are

Many spiritual seekers feel called to far-flung places across the globe in the interest of pursuing the path of their enlightenment. This may indeed be the right course of action for certain people, but it is by no means necessary to attaining an enlightened consciousness. Enlightenment can take root anywhere on earth, as long as the seeker is an open and ready vessel for higher consciousness. All we need is a powerful intention, and a willingness to do the work necessary to moving forward on our path. In terms of spiritual practice, at this moment, there are more tools available to more people than at any other time in history. We have access to so much wisdom through the vehicles of books, magazines, the Internet, television, and film. In addition, the time-honored practice of meditation is free, and sitting quietly everyday, listening to the universe, is a great way to start the journey within. There is further inspiration in the fact that the greatest teachers we have are our own life experiences, and they come to us every day with new lessons and new opportunities to learn. If we look at the people around us, we may realize that we have a spiritual community already intact, and if we don't, we can find one, if not in our own neighborhood, then on-line. Meanwhile, if we feel called to travel in search of teachers and experiences, then by all means, we should. But if we can't go to India, or Burma, or Indonesia, or if we don't have the desire, this is not an obstacle in terms of our spiritual development. In fact, we may simply be aware that our time and energy is best spent in our own homes, with our meditation practice and all the complications and joys of our own lives. We can confidently stay in one place, knowing that everything that we need to attain enlightenment is always available right where we are.

Haiti Cholera Could Overrun Caribbean

'The Haitian Health Ministry said on Sunday that of a total 52,715 recorded cases, 20,687 had been treated in hospitals, DPA reported. The UN says the cholera outbreak, first seen on October 19 in the lower Artibonite region, north of the capital, Port-au-Prince, is threatening hundreds of thousands more in the country.

The disease continues to claim lives in Haiti ten months after an earthquake killed 230,000 people on the island.

The United Nations says over one million quake survivors are most at risk as they still live in dirty, overcrowded camps that lack sanitation facilities. The World Health Organization has also warned that the deadly illness will inevitably spread to other countries in the Caribbean....Read more:

The Law of Balance or Equipoise

This is elaboration and continuation of the law of equalities. The law of balance is a universal law that supersedes all of man's laws, creating stability for all third dimension manifestation. Each thought must be balanced by whomever creates it. This is divine wisdom. Allow all viewpoints without feeling you must defend your own. Allow no one to tell you what your journey must reflect or what your reality is. Do not give your power away so easily, but give your love unconditionally. Any messages communicated in love validates equality. Low self esteem is just as non productive as a puffed up sense of self esteem. They both deny equality. Another manifestation of the imbalance of this law is addiction.

Empathy in Action

Sometimes we forget to take the time to recognize the richness that defines our lives. This may be because many of the messages we encounter as we go about our affairs prompt us to think about what we don’t have rather than all the abundance we do enjoy. Consequently, our gratitude exists in perpetual conflict with our desire for more, whether we crave time, convenience, wealth, or enlightenment. Yet understanding and truly appreciating our blessings can be as simple as walking a mile in another’s shoes for a short period of time. Because many of us lead comparatively insular lives, we may not comprehend the full scope of our prosperity that is relative to our sisters and brothers in humanity. If you find taking an inventory of your life’s blessings difficult, consider the ease with which you nourish your body and mind, feed your family, move from place to place, and attend to tasks at hand. For a great number of people, activities you may take for granted, such as attaining an education, buying healthy food, commuting to work, or keeping a clean house, represent great challenges. To experience firsthand the complex tests others face as a matter of course in their daily lives, try living without the amenities you most often take for granted. This can be a great experiment to undertake with your entire family or a classroom. Understanding working poverty can be as easy as endeavoring to buy nutritious foods with a budget of $100 for the week. If you own a car, relying on public transportation for even just a day can help you see the true value of the comfort and conveniences others do without. As you explore a life without things you may normally take for granted, ask yourself for how long you could endure. The compassionate gratitude that floods your heart when you come to fully realize your abundance may awaken pangs of guilt in your heart. Be aware, however, that the purpose of such an experiment is to open your heart further in gratitude and compassion. This awareness can help you attain a deeper level of gratitude that will allow you to savor and, above all, appreciate your life with renewed grace.

As human beings, we are all the same. So there is no need to build some kind of artificial barrier between us. At least my own experience is that if you have this kind of attitude, there is no barrier. Whatever I feel, I can express; I can call you 'my old friend'. There is nothing to hide, and no need to say things in a way that is not straightforward. So this gives me a kind of space in my mind, with the result that I do not have to be suspicious of others all the time. And this really gives me inner satisfaction, and inner peace.

Inspiration For The Day

"[Manifestation is] the art of fashioning a co-creative, synchronistic, and mutually supportive relationship between the inner creative energies of a person’s own mind and spirit and their counterpart within the larger world in order to bring a new and desirable situation into being." -- David Spangler

"We must see ourselves as co-manifestors -- partners in manifestation -- all engaged in the primal act of unfoldment and emergence. Each act of manifestation may be directed toward a specific outcome, but it also contributes to the greater manifestation of the wholeness, love, compassion, and creativity of the primal source from which we all come." -- David Spangler

Kum Nye

You are determined to meditate this morning. You close your phone and get comfy on your yoga mat. You try to relax your body and slow your breathing. But, still a million thoughts run through your head. Suddenly, your leg itches. Remembering some tasks you have to complete by noon, you begin to feel a headache coming on. Does this scenario sound familiar? For many people, meditation can feel just as stressful as the rest of life. Kum Nye (pronounced Koom Nyay) is a series of simple but effective exercises that not only promote holistic health but can also prepare your body for meditation. When performed with vigor, they are very useful for releasing physical and emotional tensions that you may not even realize you are holding inside. Tibetan Buddhists, who used Kum Nye to heal diseases caused by energy blockages and to relieve fatigue, developed it around the 8th century. It has recently become increasingly popular as a discipline that can teach you how to achieve complete relaxation by connecting your emotions to your physical essence. In Tibetan "Kum" means the subtle body and "Nye" means massage or interaction. Kum Nye movements are generally very slow and gentle but if performed properly, they can induce physical tremors, which are the body's way of releasing inner tensions. When these tensions are converted into physical energy, you are ready for inner calm and meditation. Consisting of eight key positions, the system is designed to work on different areas of your body, contributing to strength and flexibility. Physical stretching blends with breathing exercises and massage to help you feel revitalized and centered. Taking a few minutes to do the exercises upon waking each morning may help you avoid the feelings of fatigue that some people encounter later in the day. In this practice, called Flying, you start by sitting quietly for a few minutes to rest your mind and body. Then stand up straight with your feet hip width apart unlocking your knees almost but not bending your knees, allowing your arms to rest at your sides, keeping them fairly straight but not locked. Allow your arms to reach above your head and then slowly down again. After repeating this exercise a few times, for about five to fifteen minutes, return to a sitting position until you are ready to resume regular activity. Kum Nye practices such as this one can also help counter the feelings of restlessness and mental distraction that goes with a job that requires you to be seated . Adding some Kum Nye exercises to your daily routine may help you uncover your body's natural healing energy and prepare you for increased peace.

Colour Psychology and Spirituality

Colour psychology is closely related to cultural associations with various colors. Colour psychology affects nearly every area of life: clothing, interior design, graphic design, computer interface design, fine art and food choices. The study of colour psychology and colour symbolism also reveals an in-depth perspective on both society and the beliefs of individuals. Accordingly, colour symbolism has always played a major role in religious symbolism and religious rituals.Yellow, blue and red are the primary colours and are mixed to create secondary colours: green, orange and purple. The basic colors of the spectrum are the most fundamental colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. These colours combine with each other and with white and black to create all of the other colours that we see. Each of these colours have different meanings in various spiritual philosophies. In Islam, green is the most prominent color and is symbolic of springtime renewal, joy, success and happiness. In China, yellow has always been associated with the imperial household and red is the most auspicious color. According to the Hebrew tradition, the name of the first man is Adam, meaning red or alive. In Catholicism, blue is the color most closely associated with Mother Mary and the heavenly realm....read more...

Distinctive Beauty

The mirror can be a friend and the mirror can be a foe. Few people are willing to accept that their physical individuality is something amazing rather than something to be ashamed of. But like the individual beauty of a single flower placed in a bouquet, each of us, no matter what we look like, contributes to the beauty of humanity and enhances the world. Though society often emphasizes physical conformity, regardless of what your height or weight may be, you have legs that carry you, arms that hug, lips with which to kiss, and eyes that express a range of emotions. Your body is your perfect home and the ultimate expression of your inner beauty, and is naturally and individual as your personality. You may see your body as a collection of flaws, but more often than not, it is the so-called flaw that provides the counterpoint that creates a vision of beauty. The old adage is true: If we all looked alike, then much of the appeal of the visual world would be lost. For a variety of reasons, mainstream culture asks us to view our physical selves negatively and with a strict eye toward improvement. But in confronting assumptions about our bodies as well as how those assumptions were shaped over time, it becomes possible to accept that true beauty is more than a shape, a size, a color, or a standard. It is when we stop comparing ourselves to others that we can recognize the true miracle which is the beauty of each and every human body as a whole, without reverting to any erroneous ideal. The briefest glance through a crowd reveals a wondrous variety of real people. William Shakespeare wrote: “The boughs of no two trees ever have the same arrangement. Nature always produces individuals.” The physical presence of each person on earth fills a unique void and adds a complexity that would be lacking were we all copies spilled from a single mold. With this in mind, take another look in the mirror and make the effort to love what you see.

"What's The Score?" -- The Seasiders Vs Wolves

A game which neither side can really afford to draw. The spread indicates the likelihood of a physical game. A game perhaps dictated by the midfield. Plenty of possession for The Seasiders it appears, with Wolves prepared to let them? The spread indicates The Seasiders possibly falling behind at some time in the game; but ... a card which last appeared for the Fulham game prediction ... suggests that a draw might well be the most likely outcome. The spread indicates a game of tactics between the two managers. Last time there was this game of wills it was the Birmingham game and The Seasiders were on the wrong side of a diamond formation which was their undoing. Wolves appear to indeed be in the ascendency at one point in the game, where they seem to have to drive home their advanatage. However, the spread indicates a rampant Blackpool attack somewhere in the game. Let's hope this time around that the same number of chances, created in the last game against West Ham, are created ... but this time put away. There is a need for 'goals' by The Seasiders to overcome a hardy Wolves team. Don't rule out bad refereeing decisions in this game and also an element of controversy which might bring Wolves down from their ascendant advantage some time in the game .... a draw would be a fair result here. However, the need for a win by both teams might be the telling issue in this game. Wishful thinking would love to issue three points outcome to The Seasiders here. But the spread does suggest other wise. The spread suggests 2 v 2 ... but wishful thinking says 3 v 2 to The Seasiders.

Update 27th November 2010
'Goals' were indeed needed to win this tie .... Wolves in the ascendancy for most of the game. Indeed a 'bad' referee decision did come into the game ... Ian Evatt taken off the pitch for treatment following an injury not permitted to back on the field in time to prevent Doyle heading Wolves goal from a position Evatt would have defended. Controversy too ... as Wolves disputed Blackpool's 2nd goal. Plenty of opportunity for Wolves, but poor finishing .... it could have been 2 v 2.

Some Buddhist Inspiration ...

When you have many excuses not to do your work, ask yourself what guarantee you have of another chance to do what needs to be done. Time lost is lost for good. No matter how much you promise to improve, no matter what good intentions you have for making it up, the time is gone for good. Feeling sorry about the situation will not bring it back. You can never buy back that precious piece of time. You may think, "Well, that piece of time has passed, but I still have a long stretch of time left." No, you do not! What guarantee is there that you will have another piece of time like this one? Wake up and stop the excuses; they never made sense before and do not make sense now. Laziness and procrastination have never worked in a sound and helpful way. It is only sound and helpful to get things moving---Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, Dharma Paths

These senses, have also been called, visceral senses, precognitive senses and also intuitive senses, which means, that one is able to perceive -without having to use reasoning- the emotions or the objective consciousness.

Nevertheless, when the perception comes, is like a mixture of information. In many occasions is like a puzzle and that is the reason that many persons doubt the veracity of the experience. What really happens is that the process does not compare to any previous form of conscious mechanism. This gives place to a method of perception which is different and unknown, like very diffuse. Nevertheless, this is a subject to be understood and with certain and specific methodology, is controlled. This is known as deciphering the perception. The term perception, indicates a sense and a consciousness...read more...
