Tensions caused by situations not easily resolved. The intervention of an unrelenting third party who is completely untrustworthy. Forcing its hand even when requested directions have been taken.
There is real pain and distress with this image. Even with a situation continuing behind the 'veil of darkness', caring eyes are still aware of the confusion and the misery caused by this unresolved situation.There may have been some kind of infidelity or 'assumed act of weakness' that had brought the attention of the third party to those who have had the sword put through their heart. But even the third party has a weakness ... working on that weakness will only make that third party push the sword of damocles in even deeper.
Too many hidden hands are involved here for an easy solution. Those of the watching eyes do not have the ears to hear what is being said in this situation. They can only assume they know from the few clues which are 'supposedly' provided. There is subterfuge here to protect the identities of those involved. It is not something that can be ended without someone becoming an injured party. It is a stalemate ... an impasse.
