Well, it’s a bit delayed but here I am again – bruised and battered but never beaten….I am a Weeble, I wobble but I don’t fall down..
This music clip is soooooo appropriate to what happened that Monday evening, from our perspective and that of Mr AA (Alcoholics Anonymous, not Automobile Association):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAM9diIDHqs
Here’s what happened: I started my new job and on my first day, driving home, a drunk driver rammed my car and caused Ben, Kirsten and me a world of pain which is only now fading. I am naïve sometimes, I was looking at all the pale, shocked faces and Mr AA stood out because of his bright red face – I still didn’t cotton on he was three sheets to the wind!
We’re still having physiotherapy (apart from Ben – he cured himself!) but on the bright side, the therapist said we have a good, positive attitude and will make a full recovery in the next few months. I’ve mentioned the attitude of gratitude before; it really does pull you through most things that life throws in the mix. And forgiveness is paramount to all of us, so, young Danny Boy* (you know who you are) I can honestly say when I saw you in handcuffs in the police car, weeping at the pain you caused my daughter, I felt sorry for you. And although I wanted to beat you up that day, it passed and I forgive you. Really I do. Just don’t EVER go to the pub on your way home from work again, unless you take the bus of course.
*name changed to protect the guilty…x
Postscript: Kirsten just looked over my shoulder and is giggling at the appropriateness of the music clip!
The last time I wrote on here I said there is a foolproof way of getting your cosmic ordering working properly. Well here goes – get your foil hats on again folks…..
There is another big hurdle to cosmic ordering and many people just can’t get by it. It’s the belief that you can do it and that you deserve what you ask for. People don’t get what they deserve, they get what they BELIEVE they deserve – which is why people who are not very nice get good things and lovely folk don’t. Well, not all the time anyway.
All the belief comes from deep down inside, in the subconscious. In Huna magick it is called the Mana, the lower self and it ticks over 24/7 keeping all your ingrained habits and beliefs and everything you’ve been told you should do from childhood running in the background of your life. Most people are told loud and clear from an early age that its not nice to be greedy or overly assertive (true enough) but the Mana only functions in a very simple way and doesn’t define circumstances, so many people are self-effacing doormats who wonder why they don’t ever seem to get lucky.
So how to get round this? I read a very good definition of this situation years ago – the Mana is like a sentry, on duty in the background and not letting any wayward thoughts of materialism get through the gate. The secret is to get him drunk, so to speak. (NO DANNY BOY! NOT IN THAT WAY!)
Its very simple really, all you need is a tape recorder (I use one of those dictation machines that students take into lectures), a pair of comfy earphones and a little spare time. Ooh, and a pen and paper.
Say you want to lose weight – subconscious says you have to eat up all your food, there are children starving in the world (and not eating your food will NOT feed them, but sponsoring a little one is very satisfying, by the way.) You would write something like this:
I LOVE HEALTHY FOODS LIKE SALADS
I AM BEAUTIFUL, SLIM AND ELEGANT
CLOTHES LOOK STUNNING ON ME
I AM HEALTHY AND FIT
You get the picture? Just whatever you want. And by the way it is NOT vain to want to be beautiful. Then add a few little twists to suit your own personality, make the things you write sound attractive to you.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WONDERFUL CRISP VEGETABLES AND FRUIT
I AM AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL AND ALL EYES ADMIRE ME
I HAVE A WONDERFULLY ELEGANT FIGURE, A TINY WAIST AND I AM STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS
MY CLOTHES SWAY AND I TURN HEADS EVERYWHERE WITH MY WONDERFUL WARDROBE
WALKING MAKES ME FEEL FULL OF SPARKLING ENERGY…..yada yada yada
When you have written down something that feels right for you, then you find some nice background music that you will not get sick of hearing night after night for a few weeks and record your script. Do a little sound test so that the balance of sound is comfortable (background music doesn’t drown you out and vice versa). Then off you go, record your tape. This is boring as you might have to keep repeating over and over to fill one side of your tape (half hour tapes are not too bad). You can kill two birds with one stone and do a different tape on either side, then when it comes to listening you can just play the tape continuously.
When you go to bed, take the tape with you, plug yourself in and just tune into the music, don’t listen to your voice and while you’re asleep, your tape will sneak past your subconscious gatekeeper and let your new belief in yourself sink in. Three weeks listening every night and then once or twice a week until your goal is reached is what works for me but we are all different so if it seems slower, persevere. There is no situation that you can’t use this method to improve. I’ve done it many times and it really does work. My problem these days is finding a quiet place to record – my house is brimming with people at the moment.
If you know what you want but don’t know how to do your script, I will write one for you if you would care to email me wraithmg@yahoo.co.uk . If you’d like more information on this (very ancient) system I can elaborate or recommend a couple of books.
OK, you can take your hats off now – if you really want to, that is.
