New photographs released to silence conspiracy theory that Moon landings were a massive Nasa hoax

For many it is one of the human race’s greatest achievements - but ever since that first ‘giant leap for mankind’ there are some who have questioned whether man really did land on the moon. Now, though, there’s photographic evidence so powerful that even the most hardened sceptics should be persuaded that we really did touch down on the lunar surface. Nasa’s Lunar Reconnaisance Orbiter (LRO) has taken new photographs of the surface that clearly show astronaut footprints, the lunar rover and spacecraft scorch marks. The LRO produced stunning photographs of the lunar surface in 2009 from an altitude of 31 miles.
