Longest solar eclipse for 1,000 years turns Sun into a blazing ring of fire

The sun is reduced to a ring of gold against the black sky as the Moon slips between it and Earth. This solar eclipse yesterday lasted for 11 minutes and eight seconds, setting a record that will not be beaten until December 23, 3043. Such events, which only blot out the middle of the Sun, are known as annular eclipses. They occur about 66 times a century and can only be viewed in the narrow band on the Earth’s surface below their path. Yesterday’s light show began in Africa before crossing the Indian Ocean, where it reached its peak at about 7am GMT. It then continued into Asia where it could be seen in the Maldives, southern India, parts of Sri Lanka, Myanmar and China. In other parts of Africa as well as the Middle East and Eastern Europe, skywatchers were treated to a partial eclipse. (Daily Mail)

A Word On 'The Photon Belt'

There has been much talk about the Photon Belt and the accompanying manasic radiation, both scientific terms for this spectacular coming event. Science first admitted knowledge of this phenomenon in 1962, nearly 40 years ago! As for us, the public, awareness oft his event came much later, and sadly, only to a very small number of people. The Photon Belt and the manasic radiation have a greater impact than one might imagine.

From the scientific point of view, it is the procession of our Solar System and its accompanying planets around the Central Sun, called Alcyon, located in the constellation of Pleiades. This counter-clockwise cyclic procession around Alcyon requires 25,860 years to make one complete orbit.

Our present-day sun, moon, and planets must twice pass through the Photon Belt during this time, that is, once to the North and once to the South. (See diagram, below.) During this cycle, there are two periods of darkness and two periods of light. The periods of darkness, which constitute the vast majority of the rotation around the Central Sun, consist of two periods of 10,500 years each, plus an additional, seemingly optional 430 years for both of the 10,500-year periods. (i.e., 10,500+430 = 10,930 years, times 2=21,860 years). Following each period of 10,500 years of darkness, we then emerge into 2000 years of total light, which actually constitutes the Photon Belt. In review, we then have 21,860 years of darkness and 4,000 years of light (21,860 + 4,000 = 25,860 years, or one complete cycle/orbit). Again, please refer to the diagram below.

Another way of viewing this phenomenon is that in one complete orbit, we have five sixths darkness and approximately one-sixth light, or a 5:1 ratio, with darkness being predominant. Surprisingly enough, we are now, as a Solar System and planet, once again emerging from 10,500+ years of darkness and preparing to merge into 2000 years of light, which we will begin to experience in the year 2000. The foregoing is a general scientific understanding of the Photon Belt phenomenon, but what about its spiritual significance? A question in your mind might be, "Why does the darkness, or negative aspect, of our 26,OOO-year journey around the Central Sun predominate? Why not more light?" As in all things in the Creators omni-universes, everything has divine purpose and reason. All aspects are in synchronicity with one another: the higher with the lower, the lower with the higher; or, to quote Cabbalistic law, "as it is above, so shall it be below; as it is below, so shall it be above." It is important to understand that divine law has intent and purpose.

The reason we experience five-sixths more darkness in our journey around the Central Sun is because the divine powers, in concert with those of us who were chosen, agreed to create and experience a world of negativity (darkness), polarities, and illusion encrusted with fear, judgments, control, hate, greed, death, and much more. This was a contrived plan which facilitated the Creator's desire to better understand the true nature of negativity, or its shadow self. This explosive and unpredictable world, likened to a veritable mine field, is designed to test the mettle of all associated with this special planet, Planet Earth. We are the vehicle through which the divine can experience itself; and through our individual and collective experiences, can master the intricacies and dangers of darkness. We have been selectively chosen to come here ... read more ...

Life on Mars? Amazing photos from Nasa probe reveal mystery figure on Red Planet

This photo of what looks remarkably like a female figure with her arm outstretched, was taken on Mars. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it has set the Internet abuzz with claims that there really is life on the red planet. Others may well feel that it is simply an optical illusion caused by a landscape. The image was among many sent back to Earth by Spirit, Nasa's Mars explorer vehicle which landed there four years ago. Initial inspections revealed nothing unusual, but closer examination by amateur astronomers has thrown up this intriguing picture. Painstaking: Space enthusiasts spent four years analysing this image, which on much closer inspection shows the 'alien’. As one enthusiast put it on a website: "These pictures are amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what appears to be a naked alien running around on Mars." (Daily Mail) (Note: a negative image 'analysis' of the famous close up photograph is featured on A Light In The Darkness under the Anomay Gallery catergory)

The Haitian People Need Emergency Assistance — NOT Suppression and Further Domination

'The Haitian people themselves must be assisted, and not suppressed. The media—just as it did in Katrina—is already portraying the Haitian people as animals and criminals. In fact, the masses in Haiti —as they did in New Orleans during Katrina—are in the main mobilizing to collectively deal with their situation. These efforts must be supported in all aid programs, and there must be no suppression by the U.S. troops of those who are trying with all their might to save themselves and their people. Volunteers coming from other countries must be assisted by the governments now sending aid to Haiti , and not suppressed.' Read more...

William Down Under For First Official Tour

Prince William is on his way to New Zealand to represent the Queen on his first official overseas tour. Afterwards, he will be travelling to neighbouring Australia for a series of unofficial engagements. It is the first time he has visited the country since he was nine months old. But what kind of reception can he expect to receive in a country with an increasingly strong republican sentiment? In a recent poll, 59% of Australians said they would like to get rid of the monarchy. Mike Keating of the Australian Republican Movement says he is "underwhelmed" by the prospect of William's arrival. "Why is he coming?" he asked. "He's not the first in line to the throne. He knows nothing about Australia, on his own acknowledgement. And for two days? He's going to familiarise himself with Australia in two days? Visiting only Melbourne and Sydney?" (Sky News)

The Manipulation Of Ancient History

Our government textbooks tell us that nobody in the ancient world had ever crossed the Atlantic before Columbus. But the voyage of the Mayflower only took 60 days. Are we honestly to believe that no one had ever previously taken the 60 day trip in all of human history? The great civilizations of ancient Egypt, Babylon, Sumer, Greece, Rome, and the sea-faring Phoenicians never wondered what was out West past 59 days sailing?

If we accept this improbability, we have to accept many more along with it, because the native American cultures of the “New World” and the Eurasian cultures of the “Old World” were already far too similar to have naturally evolved separately. For instance, compare the Peruvians and Egyptians. The number of complex comparisons between the two peoples far surpasses serendipity. Both cultures believed in an immaterial soul which reincarnates through multiple physical existences. They both worshipped the Sun, Moon, and Stars, and held amazing astronomical knowledge, much of which has just recently been rediscovered. Both peoples built amazing stone pyramids, often containing boulders too heavy for modern cranes to lift, quarried from miles away. Both cultures embalmed/mummified their dead. Peruvian and Egyptian royalty both wrapped children’s heads in the practice of “skull elongation” (like trepanning) to attain higher consciousness. They both divided the year into twelve months. Both peoples had a women’s order of vestal virgins vowed to celibacy, and violating their vows was punished on both continents by their being buried alive. Both cultures offered animal sacrifices and divined the future by examining the animal’s entrails. They both built huge arches and strewed the road with flowers for returning home triumphant warriors/heroes. At the beginning of each agricultural season during a big celebration, the Kings placed their hands to the plough and ploughed the first furrow. Are we to believe such incredibly specific practices developed completely independent of one another?

Ancient symbols like the cross and the swastika already existed in the Americas long before the Europeans came. Egyptian symbols like the “Akeru” back to back lion gods hieroglyph are found in Olmec temples from ancient Mexico. We have also found Mayan art and glyphs in Egypt. Modern Mayans and tribal Egyptians both recognize the languages found in their countries as that of their ancestors and both can read much of it. We’ve discovered artwork 2-3000 years old clearly depicting negroes and caucasians in Central America. The establishment remains silent on all these issues.

The similarities between Old World European and American peoples are vast and difficult to accept as mere coincidence. The use of cement, bricks, arches and advanced masonry/architecture is found on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as roads, stone and suspension bridges; Metallurgy, ore mining of copper, tin, bronze, gold, silver, and iron; Sculpture, painting, engraving, agriculture, navigation, large sailing vessels, pottery, glasswork, and music; both Old and New Worlders fashioned the same weapons like bows and arrows, spears, swords, battle-axes, darts and slings; baptism, confession, penance all long existed on both continents. Tarot Intuitive Tool

According to some different Tarot schools, this can be understood as an instrument of self-help, self-knowledge or divination.

It’s not rare to find those who defend it from one perspective, while others see or feel opposing views. This is not relevant, maybe not even correct. What must be clear in the reader’s and querent’s minds as they use it in that moment and for their own personal reasons. A Code of Ethics must guide the individual activity of Tarot reading. As a self-help tool, the reader uses Tarot for her/himself in order to go inside, know and guide some decision or direction. And can do the same with a querent.

Used as a self-knowledge instrument, Tarot has, in my opinion, its most important position. This is so for both the person who uses it personally, as well for those around her/him. Carl Yung (1875-1961) a psychoanalyst from
Switzerland, dedicated himself with much attention to Tarot in this field. Although, it is not imperative to be a psychoanalyst to work with the Tarot and translate it. Using this approach, each card is understood as a pictogram that is written, a mirror that reflects not only a personal image but a universal one – something Yung called “collective unconscious.” It is the belief and practice that this is the richest way to read Tarot; thus, there is great potential to help ourselves and other people.

Maybe it is as a divination tool for which Tarot is best known and is reflected by the words of Anthony Louis (Tarot Plain and Simple. 2003, p.1-2): “Tarot is one instrument that awakens our intuitive faculties and puts us in contact with our innermost self. It’s a metaphoric system that leads us to self discovery. Tarot links to our daily life and can help us to see more clearly the realities in our life.”

In its essence Tarot is our portal to meditation, reflection, problem analyzing, decision clarification, self-understanding, spiritual growth and divination. So, Tarot allows us to reach a spiritual dimension in the Universe that would not be accessible in another way. (source: spiritual.com.au)

Flash Flood Warning As Snow Thaws

Forecasters have warned of flash flooding as Britons brace themselves for the latest phase of winter weather chaos. Sky weather presenter Sarah Pennock, warning of heavy rain on Friday, said: "We wouldn't normally expect a thaw to cause significant flooding. "But with a sudden rise in temperature, and some heavy downpours, we could see some local flash flooding. Particularly at risk are those places that have several inches of lying snow in northwestern and central parts." (Sky News)

McCann Lawyer: Knew Trial Was 'Pandora's Box'

The McCanns' lawyer has accused the opposing side in a Portuguese libel trial of trying to "do in civil court what it could not do in criminal court". Kate and Gerry McCann are trying to ensure a ban is upheld on a book written by former policeman Goncalo Amaral, in which he suggests their daughter Madeleine died in the apartment from which she vanished in May 2007. After witnesses called on behalf of Mr Amaral backed his version of events, Isabel Duarte, the McCanns' top lawyer, said that the team had known they would open a "Pandora’s box". Sky News Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt commented: "They always said it was not going to be an easy court case to sit through, but I think even they have been surprised." (Sky News)

Anomaly Gallery - 'Reversing The Raw'

Above is an example of negative imaging from a NASA Mars photograph to 'reveal' something completely different. The image on the left is the 'negative image' of the raw NASA image on the right. The top portion of this negative image gives impressions of 'water' whereas on the raw image there is no suggestion of water whatsoever. The raw image is photography that 'supports' the official martian story (no substantial water and no vegetation) ... whereas the left image presents the alternate theory of Mars which has water.

Marvels from Mars: Stunning postcards from the Red Planet

The Red Planet, Mars, fascinates us like no other celestial body. We have yet to visit the most Earth-like world in the solar system in person, but since the Sixties a small armada of space probes have poked and prodded the dusty Martian surface. And, as these astonishing images show, they have taken the most spectacular close-up pictures while orbiting the planet. Because Mars has so little air, and certainly no substantial running water (bollocks) and no vegetation (bollocks), the processes of weathering and erosion, so important on Earth, operate differently on Mars. The result is that Mars is covered with spectacular, near-vertical cliffs, huge rubblestrewn plains and vertiginous crater edges. Future tourists, if there are any, will be able to gaze over colossal canyons - one of which, the 2,500-mile-long Valles Marineris, would swallow our Grand Canyon. What look like ancient river beds snake across the ochre plains - evidence, perhaps, of a warmer, wetter past. Mars is home not only to the solar system's longest, deepest canyon, but also to the biggest volcano (Mount Olympus, at 89,000ft - three times as high as Everest and with a base bigger than all of Great Britain), the deepest craters, the tallest cliffs and huge seas of sand, built up over countless millions of years by the thin, but relentless Martian winds. A Magical Mind

From blowing dandelion seeds into the air to throwing a penny into a fountain, we have all felt inspired to make a wish, to whisper our secret desires into the ears of the universe and wait for signs that we have been heard. Some wishes come true while others remain ethereal visions that either stay with us or fade like a star in the light of morning. Whether they come true or not, wishes are important missives, expressing our heart’s desire as well as our intention to create something new in our lives. When we wish for something, our consciousness opens to receiving it, like a flower unfolding its petals to receive a bee.

There is something innocent and magical about making a wish, something that recalls the energy of childhood. Wishing is not about formulating a plan and following it step by step to attain a goal, which is the realm of adulthood. Wishing is more like a playful volley across the universe, an invitation to play. Waiting for the response is an integral part of the process. Wishing inspires an innocent opening to the possibility of magic as we wait to see if the invisible realm will bring our wish to life. This opening is a beautiful gesture in and of itself, regardless of the outcome. We place ourselves in a magical mind, and this mind is arguably as wonderful as the fulfilment of our wish itself.

In our straightforward, action-oriented society, we may tend to dismiss the power of this seemingly passive process, yet the power of a wish is well known, hence the cautionary phrase, “Be careful what you wish for.” If you have given up wishing in favour of more adult pursuits, you might want to bring its magic back into your life. The next time you see the first star of the evening, or find yourself in front of a birthday cake covered in flaming candles, give yourself the gift of the magical realm that you knew so well as a child—close your eyes, open your mind, and make your wish.

Daily Merlin Insight: Quick Cards for Day 3

Daily Merlin Insight
10:40pm Australia/11.40am UK
Thursday 14th January 2010
Using Servants of the Light tarot ... Insight ... quick cards for day 3 of the McCann's libel case against Amaral (The Charioteer?) ... five cards (Keeper Of Crescents, Justice, Strength, Keeper Of Spheres, Five Of Spheres) ... Behold the 'masked' judge in the Justice image sitting between the two masonic pillars, one black and one white. Just exactly who's side will she be on? Where does his loyalty lie? Get the judge to take of his mask and show his true face. Is he going to be seen to be a supporter of the charioteer ... Kate gain strength from the healer of the lion. Symbolic yes, but gain strength from the knowledge you've been here before. In previous places, people wearing masks to hide their true faces, and intentions, have seemigly offered help. The judge appears to be linked to the ones who are the keeper of crescents (the keeper of deceptions and lies). Let not the loss and despair in the Five Of Spheres be seen today. Stand true, stand firm. There needs to be the light of truth in this arena of false faces and deceptions. It is not what is seems this. It is not what was intended. But it will not go any way against you, because the Keeper of Spheres will offer evidence to support you and the intention you seek. The Keeper Of Spheres may well be your lawyer in this instance. Be wise and follow the lead of which she has been advised or may well advise you. Change the judge or those who will pass judgement on this, if it is in your power. Do not trust those who listen. Their minds have already been glossed over by the folly of those who handle the charioteer. There is corruption here too. Amaral is armoured like a saint with loyalty from many sides of the same diamond. A diamond which has too much to hide. That which has been opened, is a trail that leads deep into the heart of the 'establishment' in Amaral's country and your own, plus others too. Request neutral ground. That is what is being said through me to you.

Kate McCann 'Confident' Of Winning Libel Case

Kate McCann said she was "confident" of winning a libel case in Portugal as she arrived for a third day in court. The McCanns are trying to ensure a ban is upheld on a book written by former policeman Goncalo Amaral, in which he suggests their daughter died in the apartment from which she vanished in May 2007. Arriving at court with Fiona Payne, a member of the Tapas Seven group of friends, Mrs McCann stopped briefly to speak to the waiting press pack. "I believe this was the right course of action," she said. "I have confidence in the Portuguese justice system." She added: "We need to find Madeleine. That's why we're here." (Sky News)

Key Of Wisdom

Knowledge is regarded by the fool as ignorance, and the things that are profitable are to him hurtful. He liveth in death. It is therefore his food. The wise man lets his heart overflow but keeps silent his mouth. O man, list to the voice of wisdom; list to the voice of light. Mysteries there are in the Cosmos that unveiled fill the world with their light. Let he who would be free from the bonds of darkness first divine the material from the immaterial, the fire from the earth; for know ye that as earth descends to earth, so also fire ascends unto fire and becomes one with fire. He who knows the fire that is within himself shall ascend unto the eternal fire and dwell in it eternally. Fire, the inner fire, is the most potent of all force, for it overcometh all things and penetrates to all things of the Earth. Man supports himself only on that which resists. So Earth must resist man else he existeth not. All eyes do not see with the same vision, for to one an object appears of one form and color and to a different eye of another. So also the infinite fire, changing from color to color, is never the same from day to day. (Extract Taken from Emerald Tablet III)

Haiti earthquake: Razed to the ground, the horrifying images of destruction that may have killed 100,000 people

The earthquake itself is over - but as these images show, the horror in Haiti is only just beginning. Stunned Haitians began stacking bodies on the streets of their devastated capital Port-au-Prince. yesterday as distraught, dust-caked survivors clawed feverishly in the debris of shattered buildings. Their prime minister said he feared the death toll from the huge earthquake could climb above 100,000 as the International Red Cross said up to three million people - almost a third of the population of one of the world's poorest countries - had been affected. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described the damage as 'Biblical', and likened the disaster to the 2004 Asian tsunami. 'This is going to (be) one of the highest in terms of loss of life in recent years,' she said. One leading politician, Senator Youri Latortue, suggested the toll could rise as high as 500,000. The full horror of the disaster was only beginning to emerge today - with scenes of utter devastation in the densely-populated city. (Daily Mail)

Numbers Meanings Numerology

In contrast to the verbal society we currently live in, mythical ancient civilisations such as Atlantis and Lemuria are believed by some to have had a slightly different means of communication which was composed on an elaborate system, including art forms which conveyed special messages to the observer.

In our current age of known history, early man recorded events which transpired by using pictorial representations which told elaborate stories. As time went on these pictures were abbreviated to form hieroglyphics with each symbol depicting a word. As more time elapsed the glyphs were further reduced to represent individual sounds.

The alphabet that we use today is most likely derived from an earlier Egyptian hieroglyphic system which in turn was derived from a pictographic system, similar to the concept on which the Chinese and Japanese writing systems are based. As the hieroglyphics evolved to represent sounds instead of specific words, these letters as we now know them took on a complete essence of their own: so much so that the spelling of many words has remained unchanged even though our speech patterns have evolved to make some sounds obsolete.

As mankind’s system of thought and style of communication evolved to become more verbalised, the concept began to become apparent that each sound conveys a particular harmonic vibration which has particular significance to the exoteric as well as esoteric implications of our milieu. Numerologists believe that every letter in the alphabet has a specific essence that can best be described by associating it with a numerical value, thereby allowing for ease of computation. Each letter in any given word helps to add a particular flavour in order to clarify its meaning: this is especially so when it is the first letter or multiple occurrences of a particular letter are found in a word. The premier, or first, consonant or vowel of a word tends to carry significant importance and these letters will often reveal the overall essence of a word or name.

A is the numerical equivalent of 1 and the first letter of the alphabet as well as the first vowel. It has a great deal of confidence which enables it to achieve objectives. When it is the first vowel in a name, the bearer tends to be alert and bold. Negatively, A can be critical of efforts of others.

G is the numerical equivalent of 7 and represents mysticism and religious experiences. This letter is imaginative, creative, and will look for alternative solutions to everyday problems. When it is the first consonant in a name, the bearer will tend to be intuitive, learned and somewhat solitary. Negatively, G’s are loathe to take even the best intentioned advice from others.

H is the numerical equivalent of 8 and represents creativity and power. This letter has a great deal of business acumen and will therefore find profits through most endeavours. When it is the first consonant of a name the bearer is likely to be successful in business. Negatively, it can be self absorbed and selfish.

I is the third vowel of the alphabet and is the numerical equivalent of 9. It represents law and as a general rule is sensitive, compassionate and humane. Negatively, I can lack self confidence and is quick to anger.

J is the numerical equivalent of 1 and represents our aspirations. This letter is truthful, benevolent and intelligent. When it is the first consonant in a name the bearer will possess an unyielding desire not to give up and will therefore find success - eventually. Negatively, J can be lazy and lack direction.

K is the numerical equivalent of 2 and represents extremes. It is strong willed and influential, if not somewhat emotive at times. When it is the first consonant of a name the bearer will possess insights often missed by others. Negatively, K can be dissatisfied with life.

P is the numerical equivalent of 7 and represents power. It carries with it a commanding influence and possesses much knowledge. When it is the first consonant in a name the bearer is likely to think of spiritual matters. Negatively, P can be totally self absorbed with little time to empathise with the concerns of others.

Q is the numerical equivalent of 8 and represents originality. It is a mysterious letter which in many ways shows areas that would otherwise be unknowable. Negatively, Q can be extremely boring.

R is the numerical equivalent of 9 and represents possibilities. It is tolerant and humane but has a tendency to become short tempered. When it is the first consonant in a name the bearer will often act as peacemaker.

T is the numerical equivalent of 2 and represents growth. It is a restless letter which seeks answers to spiritual questions. When it is the first consonant in a name, the carrier will have extra strength to help other and tends to be long suffering. Negatively, T is overly emotional and is often easily influenced by the opinions of others.

U is the final true vowel in the alphabet and is the numerical equivalent of 3. This letter represents accumulation and is considered to be very lucky indeed. When it is the first vowel in a name the bearer will be freedom loving. Negatively, U can be selfish, greedy and indecisive.

V is the numerical equivalent of 4 and represents construction. It is an industrial letter which is tireless and efficient. Negatively, V can be unpredictable.

W is the numerical equivalent of 5 and represents self-expression. While this letter can be exceedingly charming, it also possesses an aura of mystique. Negatively, W can be greedy and take too many risks.

X is the antepenultimate letter in our alphabet and is the numerical equivalent of 6. It represents sexuality. This letter is unrestrained in its quest for pleasure and can therefore fall prey to promiscuity and unfaithfulness.

Y is the penultimate letter in our alphabet and is the numerical equivalent of 7. This letter represents freedom and dislikes restraint of any kind. Negatively, Y can be indecisive and as a consequence may miss out on opportunities in life.

Z is the final letter in our alphabet and is the numerical equivalent of 8. It represents hope as it is considered to be a peacemaker. Negatively, Z can be headstrong and must learn to think before acting ... (source: spiritual.com.au)

Relying on Others

Most of us pride ourselves on our self-sufficiency. We like to be responsible for taking care of ourselves and pulling our own weight in the world. This is why it can be so challenging when we find ourselves in a situation in which we have to rely on someone else. This can happen as the result of an illness or an injury, or even in the case of a positive change, such as the arrival of a newborn. At times like these, it is essential that we let go of our feeling that we should be able to do it all by ourselves and accept the help of others.

The first step is accepting the situation fully as it is. Too often we make things worse either by trying to do more than we should or by lapsing into feelings of uselessness. In both cases we run the risk of actually prolonging our dependency. In addition, we miss a valuable opportunity to practice acceptance and humility. The ego resists what is, so when we move into acceptance we move into the deeper realm of the soul. In needing others and allowing them to help us, we experience the full realization that we are not on our own in the world. While this may bring up feelings of vulnerability, a deep feeling of gratitude may also emerge as we open to the experience of being helped. This realization can enable us to be wiser in our service of others when we are called upon to help.

It takes wisdom and strength to surrender to our own helplessness and to accept that we, just like every other human being, have limitations. The gifts of surrender are numerous. We discover humility, gratitude, and a deepening understanding of the human experience that enables us to be that much more compassionate and surrendered in the world.

The Wizard Of Bile's Buddy Accuses The McCann's Of Telling A Fairytale

Daily Mail Headline ‘Maddie snatch story was a fairytale that saved McCanns from being charged with neglect, libel trial told’ says: “The 'fairytale' of Madeleine McCann's abduction saved her parents from being charged with neglecting their children, it was claimed yesterday. Kate and Gerry McCann did not face negligence charges because police were too 'distracted' by claims their daughter had been snatched, a former policeman said. Francisco Moita Flores told the second day of the McCann libel case how police hadn't believed three-year-old Madeleine was abducted from her parents' holiday apartment in Praia da Luz. They were forced to investigate the theory because of the 'media circus' surrounding the case and the political pressure it created, the Portuguese court heard. He suggested the couple should face neglect charges because they left their children sleeping while they went out for dinner at a nearby restaurant. After yesterday's hearing a clearly angry Mr McCann conceded that he and his wife had been wrong to leave their children, but said mistakes had been made by all involved. He said: 'We're not harking over mistakes which were made, and particularly mistakes that were made early on and cannot be redeemed. What is done cannot be righted... in hindsight we made a mistake by leaving Madeleine and we have to live with the consequences of that. We can't change it.' Earlier, Mr Moita Flores had told the court: 'No one believed it was an abduction. It was a fairytale, a fable. If the police only worked on that theory then they would be a bunch of idiots.'

What on Earth was that? Mystery space object whizzes past our planet

A mystery object from space whizzed close by Earth today but scientists are somewhat stumped by what it was. The fast-moving entity only measured between 33 and 50 feet across so would not have caused devastation had it hit the planet. It made its closest pass at 12.46pm (GMT) streaking past just 76,000 miles away, which is a third of the distance to the Moon. Amateur astronomers were able to track it in the United States. The object was discovered by MIT's Linear survey on January 10 and astronomers are divided about what it is. Italian scientists, Ernesto Guido and Giovanni Sostero, said it might be a piece of space junk because its orbital period is nearly identical to the Earth's year. This would tally with a manmade rocket stage circling the Sun. (Daily Mail)

After This Awful Fiasco Over Swine Flu, We Should Never Believe the State Scare Machine Again

'So the Government, as the Daily Mail has revealed, is trying to get rid of £1billion-worth of unwanted swine flu vaccine - because the deadly epidemic they were promising us all last year never materialised. Several things are shocking about this revelation, not least the charge by the Council of Europe's head of health that major drug companies might have leaned on the World Health Organisation (WHO) to stoke up last year's scare by warning that swine flu could be a worldwide 'pandemic' killing tens of millions. Certainly, those companies have made vast fortunes out of selling the vaccines which, at our expense, are now having to be flogged off at give-away prices.' Read more...

The Hidden Power In Your Fears

Who wants to be afraid? In every moment, each of us is given the choice to love or to fear. A simple choice, one might think. But in this world, with violence, terrorism, war and disease becoming every day life for so many, is there anyone who hasn't struggled with fear?

Whenever we're about to make a major leap forward in our spiritual development, fear always steps into our path. It's the antagonist in all our personal stories. It's true that we attract what we fear. The more we fear a thing, the more likely it is to happen. And if left unchecked, fear can take control of our lives. Yet, everything has a purpose and fear is no exception.

There is good reason to be afraid of some things. Fear is a messenger that warns us there may be danger ahead. Its purpose is to guide us toward actions that will protect us as well as our loved ones. It is natural and healthy to feel fear. But like other natural tendencies we have, we're here to master our fear.

We all wish that life could be stable. We imagine that we would feel safe and comfortable if we could make life remain static, or secure. But without dangers in our lives we cannot live to our highest potential, and we never fulfill that potential without learning from our fear.

Of course, you don't want to take it too far. You don't want to be so engrossed in your fear that you become consumed by it. But there is a balance to be achieved between that extreme and its opposite - avoiding, denying, trying to be unafraid. Avoidance of fear is our greatest barrier to spiritual growth and happiness.

When we try to avoid or deny our fear in the hope that we can just be rid of it, it usually gets worse. Shutting out fear invariably shuts out the choices and blessings that could take us to the next level of our soul's development.

Fear is very much like quicksand. The more you fight it, the deeper you sink. Embracing your fear is akin to relaxing in quicksand so you can stop sinking. Until we face our fear head-on, and embrace it, it will dominate us.

Carl Jung said, "The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside as fate." Fear that is ignored takes up residence in our souls, and draws experiences to us in which it can exercise itself. We then find ourselves face to face with the same fear-inducing experiences again and again. The result of this is that our ability to exercise our free will becomes hampered more and more every time we let fear take over. This can create extremely stubborn blocks in our spiritual progress, and can harm us physically, mentally and emotionally. Avoiding fear blocks us from the joy we could be experiencing and blinds us to the Divine Light in our soul. But when we begin the journey toward embracing our fear, we begin a healing process that leads us inevitably to our true Selves, the Self that is Divine. The whole point of life is to come to know ourselves as a part of that Divinity and to reunite with that Truth within.

When we are afraid, we are being blessed with an opportunity to learn, to grow, to see and hear the world more clearly. Fear shows us the ways we hold ourselves back. It also provides us with an energy which we can transmute into power within ourselves.

Don't be afraid of fear. Do not reject it or push it away. Instead, reach out to it. Love it. When you show compassion and tenderness toward your fear, you transform it into a strength, a courage that eventually becomes the seat of peace in your soul. This is what gives spiritual masters their peace. Nothing can sway them from their centre because they have transformed their fear ... read more ...

More Evidence Emerges That Americans are Drugged Out of Their Minds

'As NaturalNews has previously reported, the U.S. is a nation seemingly hooked on mind-altering drugs. A study released last fall in the Archives of General Psychiatry documented a dramatic increase in the use of antidepressant drugs like Prozac since l996. In fact, these medications are now the most widely prescribed drugs in the U.S. Think Americans are maxed out on the number of psychiatric meds that huge numbers of them are taking? Think again. A new report says U.S. adults are increasingly being prescribed combinations of antidepressants, anti-anxiety and antipsychotic medications -- and they could be experiencing serious side effects as a result.' The Hudson Valley UFO's

From 1982 and on, thousands of people have reported seeing UFOs in the Hudson Valley, a magnificent area just 40 miles north from Manhattan, New York. While "UFO-skeptics" claim that UFOs are seen only by lone people in retired areas and never above cities, these sightings occurred in a very populated area, and hundreds of multiple independent witnesses came forward and described what cannot be anything commonplace. Contrary to what most people think the sightings still happen today with the last major one seen last October in 2008. The object often looks like a large boomerang with lights on perimeters of the craft. The ufo activity is most likely related to the large mountain ranges behind new York and the nuclear reactors in the area. (Real Ufos.net)

Quotes For The Day

"He who has achieved success has worked well, laughed often and loved much." -- Elbert Hubbard

"Too often, people focus only on results. But getting results without learning something or without having fun are incomplete. So is having fun without getting the results, or having fun without learning something new to help and empower you in the future. Accomplishment is all three: the result, personal growth and having fun." -- Peter L. Hirsch

"There are many aspects to success; material wealth is only one component. ...But success also includes good health, energy and enthusiasm for life, fulfilling relationships, creative freedom, emotional and psychological stability, a sense of well-being, and peace of mind." -- Deepak Chopra

"You don’t have to stay up nights to succeed; you have to stay awake days." -- Source Unknown

One of a Kind

Many of us have had an experience in which we felt like the lone black sheep in a vast sea of white sheep. For some of us, however, this sense of not belonging runs more deeply and spans a period of many years. It is possible to feel like the black sheep in families and peer groups that are supportive, as well as in those that are not. Even if we receive no overt criticism regarding our values, there will likely be times when it seems that relatives and friends are humouring us or waiting for us to grow out of a phase. Sometimes we may even think we have been adopted because we are so different from our family members. These feelings are not a sign that we have failed in some way to connect with others. Rather, they should be perceived as the natural result of our willingness to articulate our individuality.

Many black sheep respond to the separateness they feel by pulling back from the very people to whom they might otherwise feel closest and embracing a different group with whom they enjoy a greater degree of commonality. But if you feel that your very nature has set you apart from your peers and relatives, consider that you chose long ago to be raised by a specific family and to come together with specific people so that you could have certain experiences that would contribute to your ongoing evolution. You may be much more sensitive than the people around you or more artistic, aware, spiritual, or imaginative. The disparate temperament of your values and those of your family or peers need not be a catalyst for interpersonal conflict. If you can move beyond comparisons and accept these differences, you will come to appreciate the significant role your upbringing and socialization have played in your life's unique journey.

In time, most black sheep learn to embrace their differences and be thankful for those aspects of their individuality that set them apart from others. We cannot expect that our peers and relatives will suddenly choose to embrace our values and offer us the precise form of support we need. But we can acknowledge the importance of these individuals by devoting a portion of our energy to keeping these relationships healthy while continuing to define our own identities apart from them.
