Forgive me for being so wrong ... but 'the band' on the left hand side of the image reminds me so much of a busy highway here on Earth. I can even discern shapes within the band that resemble motor vehicles! But it just can't be ... it's my imagination running away with me. This is an image derived from Google Mars ... another image from a polar region. Silly me ... these shapes are nothing more than shifting ice patterns.
