Writing Automatically ...

We've all done this from time to time ... picked up a pen and started to write in a daydream state ... to most it is an innocent sojourn into meaningless rantings; discarded pieces of paper screwed up and thrown in the nearest dustbin. We start to write the long overdue letter and are too tired to complete the task. So we start writing and our mind goes to sleep ... yet we keep writing! We rarely can make sense of the letter as it will be a collection of disconnected statements of a supposed deranged mind. I will term this "unintentional automatic writing" as it rarely has a purpose or a clear 'message'. The more relevant type of automatic writing, which is of more relevance here, is what I will call 'intentional automatic writing' ... what can be termed a romantic and popular form of 'spiritual connection' ... something I have recently revisited ... hence the commentary here. Usually, I am like most folk in the modern day ... a note pad and pen is a rarity ... most letters are constructed on the laptop using Microsoft Word or Corel Word Perfect. The automatic effect can still occur but it is not as powerful as with pen and paper ... The principle behind 'intentional automatic writing' is a simple one ... the conscious mind is immobilised and the subconscious is accessed ... and whatever is within the subconscious is conveyed onto the piece of paper ... whether it be underlying thoughts and feelings which are swimming around in the subconscious at the time; or an inspirational poem or verse; or an actual message from a discarnate soul which might be around at the time ... the principle is the same. There has to be an intention for this type of automatic writing to be effective. A reason or an insight to be answered ... then, it is essential to permit the mind to go into a relaxed, daydream like state prior to picking up the pen. There is usually a slight understanding of what is being written ... the first few lines are usually the insight requiring attention ... and then the magic will happen ... as the pen appears to have a mind of its own ... On previous occasions ... back in the 1980's ... I adopted this type of automatic writing to write over 300 pages of inspirational poetry (Which interestingly was called A Light In The Darkness!) ... I then progressed to adapting the technique to a font writer and managed to complete a 45o page manuscript called 'The Host' in approximately three days of solid writing ... I had characters; a plot; a start and an ending ... without so much as a conscious plan of action. Currently, I have adopted Automatic Writing prior to each and every of my client consultations ... I welcome any visiting discarnate souls to communicate and I then write down what it is I am receiving at the time. I later recite what is written later to the client ... and so far I have a 95% success rate with the information I have received .... information which includes family names and correct relationships to the client; medical conditions; personal insights into the client's life ... Often the automatic writing is in a writing style different to my own ... and I am currently developing this method still further ... Matthew James 5th April 2011
