We fled underground, into the underworld, through the chambers
We left behind all we had known throughout our lives, we had no other choice
This was the end of the chapter, we had to survive, we would be survivors
Our lore had to remain intact, that was of vital importance
Our bloodlines had to evolve with an inbred memory of our lost home
We knew it to be the only way ...
We could have no regrets, for our lands would soon cease to exist
The prophecy had almost come to pass when we made our escape
It was with great sadness we left, for many brethren chose to remain
They were the unbelievers, they decreed the threat would pass
But in truth they would perish, we knew the portends were true
The disaster could not be averted ...
We knew in the future our ways would be lost our paths forgotten
Mankind deceived by those who held power
History distorted into the pattern they required to hold dominion
All of our achievements would remain hidden, our ways a myth
We’d foreseen the future and its occurrence was painful to concede to
But we knew it was what the one had planned, we could only accept
But we knew we would live physical lives again and remember
Bearing other faces the memory of our once might home would return
and its truth grow stronger as we sought it out
Though written proof would be scarce, our minds would relive the past
We would never forget, could not forget
For the future of mankind depends on our remembering
For once awoken we would remember who we once were
And in remembering, we would recall our service to the one
Our role then would be to help end the time of separation
So mankind can rejoin with all the diamond shards
To regain back the unity and recover the forgotten path
We would remember I was told, here in the future it is true I do ...
