There is a risk that folic acid causes bowel cancer, which UK authorities are actively ignoring both before and after mandating its addition to flour

In December, the UK government is mandating that millers add folic acid to white flour. Ingesting folic acid carries risks, such as causing bowel cancer.

The risk of bowel cancer from folic acid was recognised by the UK’s Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (“SACN”) in 2007.

Bowel polyp or cancer monitoring after the addition of folic acid to flour has not been planned – even though colorectal cancer was one of the specific reasons SACN asked for careful monitoring of adverse effects.

In the following, Dr. Clare Craig explains how they are side-stepping the bowel cancer effects of folic acid and purposefully muddying the waters to avoid accurate analyses of the before and after data.

Note: It’s important to note that folic acid is not folate (vitamin B9) as governments, vitamin manufacturers and their puppets would have us believe. Vitamin B9 is benign; folic acid is not. Vitamin B9 is a naturally occurring molecule found in foods like spinach and liver, while folic acid is a synthetic, oxidised version. The human body has difficulty converting folic acid into a usable form, leading to a buildup of unmetabolised folic acid in the blood....<<<Read More>>>...
