Dolphin & Whale Symbolism

For many cultures across the world, whales and dolphins are associated with divine powers and are seen as superior beings. In ancient Greece, to kill a dolphin was equal to killing a human and was a crime punishable by death. For dolphins were seen messengers for the Gods, and were closely associated with Poseidon's daughters, the Nereids, the goddess of love Aphrodite, the heroine Galatea and the music-loving sun god, Apollo. It was said that the constellation Delphinus, the dolphin, was put in the sky by Poseidon in gratitude to the dolphins for finding his bride Amphitrite.

In the rainforests of the Amazon Basin, the native Indians tell literally thousands of legends about the mysterious pink Amazon river dolphin, also called the Boto. Stories abound of the river dolphins taking human form and wooing young girls. They are often as regarded as unlucky, as they may tempt unknowing men and women into the water, where they are taken to Encante, the underwater world of no return. Similar tales of shape shifting are told of the elusive Baiji, or Yangtze river dolphin.

In Sumeria, dolphins were connected to Ea-Oannes, the deity of the sea, and sometimes with the goddess Isis in Egypt. The ancient Celts attributed the dolphin with well-worship and the healing powers of water, and the image of people riding dolphins is seen on some Celtic artefacts. Some Australian Aboriginal tribes claim to be direct descendants of dolphins, who are sometimes regarded as guardian spirits. The dolphin is also an important symbol in heraldry, the art of creating coats-of-arms, and represents diligence, salvation, charity and love.

Whales too are seen as sacred in some cultures. Russian, Slavic and Arabian mythology claims that whales support the world, and in Chinese mythology a whale with the hands and feet of a man rules the ocean. The Chinese also connected the single spiral tusk of the Narwhal, an Arctic-dwelling whale, with the horn of the sacred Unicorn. Statues of the Buddha in Tibet are frequently accompanied by whales.

The great black and white killer whale, or orca, actually the largest member of the dolphin family, is important for many native American cultures. The Tlingit, Nootka and Haida tribes in particular see the orca as one of the many animal ancestral spirits and is viewed as an embodiment of strength and speed. Orca motifs, as well as other whales, appear on many native American objects from clothes to shamanic drums, as well as items of South American origin. Like the river dolphins of the Amazon, however, native American mythology sometimes casts the orca as a dangerous being, who can take people to their realm under the sea and transform them into whales.

Whales are also sources of fear and superstition for some cultures, and are frequently regarded as monsters in myth and legend. Many sightings of sea monsters can be attributed to whales whose sheer size terrified sailors of the old world. A large number of sailors believed in a number of demonic whales, such as the Red Whale, the Horse Whale and the Pig Whale, that sunk ships and ate everyone on board. To even utter the name of these whales was considered bad luck. In Japan however, whales were connected with the more benevolent sea serpents known as Shan, who would visit the coast to play in large numbers. Norse folklore told of whales with magical powers, and cast them as the mounts of evil witches and wizards.

Advice to the Tarot Reader

To use the Tarot properly, however, requires a very great deal of preparation, and the preparation does not consist merely in knowledge of the significance of the cards, but in getting in touch with the forces behind the cards. An adequate rule-of-thumb use of it, however, can be made by any sincere person for himself, though it is doubtful if he could use it satisfactorily for anyone else.

Obtain a new pack of Tarot cards, for a used one will be too full of other people's magnetism to be reliable, and carry them on the person, and sleep with them under the pillow, and handle them and ponder upon the meaning of the pictures in the light of what the book of instructions has to say about them until the significance of each picture is realized. It does not matter greatly which pack is used, whether the quaint, hideous, archaic ones, or the very beautiful ones redrawn in recent times for Mr. A.E. Waite; it is not the details of the cards that matter, but that they should serve as reminders, as it were, of the ideas underlying them. As soon as one perceives some sort of significance in the picture on a card, one has made a link with that card, and its appearance in the divination will mean something.

Having got in touch with one's chosen pack, the next thing is to lay out a divination according to whatever system is chosen, work it out according to the book, and note down the results obtained and the position in which the cards fell. Repeat the process a second time, and a third time, upon each occasion keeping accurate notes of the fall of the cards, and, of course, thoroughly shuffling the cards between each lay-out. If certain cards keep on coming up, and especially if they come up in approximately the same positions, or even if cards of the same type predominate through the three divinations, it may safely be concluded that the system is working satisfactorily, and a divination may be made on the basis of the recurring cards. But if the three divinations bear no resemblance to each other; if even the balance of the four suits does not remain constant for at least two out of the three, and if none of the Greater Trumps turn up more than once, then it must be concluded that the Tarot is not working for the diviner, and the divination should be abandoned. The same principles apply if divinations are done with ordinary playing-cards, though this method is not nearly so sensitive and comprehensive as Tarot divinations.

Divination is a thing that cannot be learnt out of books, but builds up gradually as a system of associated ideas in the mind of the operator. Moreover, one varies very much in one's capacity for divination; upon one occasion one may be absolutely inspired, the cards recur and recur, and one reads with the most extraordinary insight, one thing leading to another in an endless train; at another time, one may have to spell out the meaning of the lay-out with reference to the book for almost every card. It will always be found that it is useless to force a divination; if the interpretation does not leap spontaneously to the mind it is unlikely to contain much insight.

From Out Of The Archives II

"Ok. Awareness has absentmindedly been gazing back along the trail. Right back to the point of the disappearance on that first day (3-5-7). Predominately awareness has been seeking a recognised locality, but in those early days there was only latent energies of confusion and shifting tides. The sense of water and more water. It does seem in truth that MM was whisked away immediately onto a boat and taken across water. For several days at least. Moving into notions of how-and-why there is real tidal waves of animosity towards 'the Emperor' ... forcing him to relinquish control.

In the middle of this is a sense of a feminine energy with instability and almost psychotic tendencies. Gentle like a young child but cunning like a warrior. This energy seems part of three. Even then. However the trail twisted and turned ... she was there buckling and bending the heart strings. Symbols of chemical structures and the building blocks of life were encountered. The special way of a birth. The efforts undertaken. And the consequences in the eyes of someone who did not relish that success ... These latencies are still in the ether. They still have a raw feel to those fibres. Still new to behold. Water .. and water ... emotions ... crescent moons and deceptions. So many deceptions. Like a cine town there is a front here that is built of flawless concrete. Impenetrable it appears ... but the power of water ... is the most fearsome force on the planet. Given time water finds even the most minute of cracks ... it wears down even the strongest surfaces. Applied lunar energies (either through emotion or deception) have formed minuscule cracks in that seemingly slakeless surface. Those cracks have widened so that remote eyes can see through. They see a circle of faces standing there."

Change has come, and now the serious work begins as Obama vows to deliver

With three small words, he captured the hopes of not just America, but of the world.

'Change has come,' said Barack Obama, the son of a Kenyan goatherd and a white woman from Kansas, as he became the most powerful man on the planet. And, of course, the first black man to be elected U.S. President.

His historic victory was widely welcomed as a promise of a better future. It bridged the chasm of racism that has

A record turnout, nearly 140million people, had swamped the polls. Blacks and young people gave Obama massive backing, but white voters also rallied behind the 47-year-old senator, with an unexpectedly high 43 per cent supporting him.

In a powerful victory speech, which drew comparisons with Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' address 45 years ago, he declared: 'If there is still anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.'

Peeling Away The Layers

Source: Daily OM

Trees grow up through their branches and down through their roots into the earth. They also grow wider with each passing year. As they do, they shed the bark that served to protect them but now is no longer big enough to contain them. In the same way, we create boundaries and develop defenses to protect ourselves and then, at a certain point, we outgrow them. If we don’t allow ourselves to shed our protective layer, we can’t expand to our full potential.

Trees need their protective bark to enable the delicate process of growth and renewal to unfold without threat. Likewise, we need our boundaries and defenses so that the more vulnerable parts of ourselves can safely heal and unfold. But our growth also depends upon our ability to soften, loosen, and shed boundaries and defenses we no longer need. It is often the case in life that structures we put in place to help us grow eventually become constricting.

Unlike a tree, we must consciously decide when it’s time to shed our bark and expand our boundaries, so we can move into our next ring of growth. Many spiritual teachers have suggested that our egos don’t disappear so much as they become large enough to hold more than just our small sense of self—the boundary of self widens to contain people and beings other than just "me." Each time we shed a layer of defensiveness or ease up on a boundary that we no longer need, we metaphorically become bigger people. With this in mind, it is important that we take time to question our boundaries and defenses. While it is essential to set and honor the protective barriers we have put in place, it is equally important that we soften and release them when the time comes. In doing so, we create the space for our next phase of growth.

Celtic 1-1 Manchester United

Source: BBC Sport

A late header by Ryan Giggs gave United a deserved point in this thoroughly entertaining Champions League match.

The home crowd were ecstatic when Scott McDonald's delightful lob from 14 yards gave Celtic a 13th-minute lead. United pinned Celtic back for much of the first half, but stout defending limited the Red Devils to half chances. Giggs headed an 84th-minute equaliser when Artur Boruc could only parry a Cristiano Ronaldo shot, then Dimitar Berbatov missed a great late chance.

The result leaves United requiring a point for certain qualification, while for Celtic, with Villarreal six points ahead, they must win their last two matches and hope the Spaniards fail to take a further point.

Inspiration for the Day

You may not always understand the source point and origin of your "external" experience, but with mindful attention you will discover that your subjective, "internal" experience is always created and shaped by thought.

Focus on understanding this dynamic and you will find that both your "internal" and "external" experiences will, inevitably, be transformed.

A Quick Insight ....

Mystic Insight
5th November 2008
Using Merlin Tarot

Two simple questions 'Where?' and 'When?':

Where?
KING OF FISHES
9 OF BIRDS
WARRIOR OF BIRDS

The landscape in the Warrior of Birds image is lowland hills and vales. The landscape within the King of Fishes is that of a rocky shoreline. Combining the two images gives impression both are linked within the location. Rocky seascape giving way to moorland/lowland. The king sits with his back to the shore, seemingly gazing across the moor to where the warrior is located. Symbolism is represented by the 3 times 3 birds in the 9 of Birds and the totem animals crab & dolphin in the King of Fishes image. Both dolphin and crab are significant around the shoreline.

When?
10 OF SERPENTS - responsibility
ACE OF BEASTS
WARRIOR OF BEASTS.

Ace of Beasts depicts Deer with antlers. Symbol of five circles - one circle within centre with five around it. Five circles = 5 ? The 1 of Beasts = 1? 5 + 1 = 6 ?? Recurrent antlers theme once more. The Deer representing someone looking over situation with control of the 'when'?

Warrior of Beasts depicts meadows/hillside in full bloom. Two harvest mice in foreground. Warrior carries a clump of wheat? What is numerology of Warrior? Warrior = 11? Being equivalent to lowest face card in deck of cards???

Ten Of Serpents is obviously 10.

Therefore numbers are:

1 ... 5 ... 6 (5+1)
11
10

The Five Reiki Principles

I - Just for today, I will not be angry.
Anger at others or oneself or at the whole world, creates serious blockages in one's energy. It is the most complex inner enemy.

Reiki is an excellent tool to remove anger blockages which have accumulated in the body over years, but it cannot remove the residue of current anger which occurs daily.

Letting go of anger. brings Piece into the Mind.

II - Just for today, I will not worry.
While anger deals with past and present events, worry deals with future ones. Although worry is not always a negative phenomena, endless worries may fill one's head, and each one bores a small hole in one's body and soul. While anger requires a focused Reiki treatment to remove obstacles, worry requires the energy to be spread throughout the entire body.

Letting go of worry, brings healing into the Body.

III - Just for today, I will be grateful.
Be grateful from your hart inward. Inner intention is the important element in this principle. Simple things as thanks, forgiveness, smile, good words, gratitude can improve others life and make them happy.

Being thankful brings Joy into the Spirit.

IV - Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Support yourself and your family respectably, without harming others. Earn a respectable living, live a life of honour.

Working Honestly brings Abundance into the Soul.

V- Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
Honour your parents, honour your teachers, honour your elders.

Being Kind brings Love into the Will.

Analysing The Aura

Did you know that auras are a type of electromagnetic energy emitted by all living things (including plants) that surround our bodies?

The aura is also related to the chakras ~ the energy points along the spine. We all have an aura which reflects our emotional condition and our state of health. Some people are able to see auras and are able to interpret a person's physical and mental state. The clearer the colour is, the more positive the energy that is being emitted. Cloudy, murky or pale colours in the aura are likely to have a negative meaning. Breaks in the aura, or large dark patches, can mean the onset of a physical illness in that area of the body. The area nearest the body tends to refer to the person's physical state; the layer of the aura which is further away tends to refer to the mental or spiritual state.

Of course, knowing what each individual colour represents is only part of learning to 'read' an aura. The first challenge is to be able to 'see' it! Next, you need to understand the shapes, directions, positions and intensities of colours in order to establish anything meaningful from them. For instance, anger can be seen as red spikes in the aura and cloudy or murky patches around the head can mean worries, or headaches.

These negative vibrations of energy go out into your aura and thus can ‘change’ your ‘true colours’ and also your personality. You then have the choice of remaining in the negative frame of mind, or you can change. If you are feeling good ‘inside’ then the affect will be felt on the ‘outside’ in a positive way. You can feel at peace with yourself in the Blue, or full of enthusiasm for life with the Red, or balanced and in-touch with nature when you work with the Green. Or perhaps your are ‘feeling in the Pink’.

The Two Wolves ...

An elder Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me...It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, pride and superiority. The other wolf stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside of you and every other person too."

They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied..."The one I feed."

From Out of the Archives

I settled into sleep mode last night with the pre-intent of 'thinking of nothing'. Keeping my mind clear and merely 'listening'. This I managed with apparent ease. No itching. Calming down into sleep mode with no problems.

Drifting into alpha state listening to the 'conversations' beginning in my mind. Thoughts which were not my own as my own cognitive processes were under my control. At the moment I felt I was drifting into settled sleep I threw out the facsimile transmission, 'anyone out there who I know let me know you are there.'

Not long afterwards (moments only) I received a facsimile transmission in reply. It was the sound of someone's warm laugh filling my consciousness. Who? I didn't recognise. Then moments after that a unknown pure thought voice sent a facsimile.

The message was simple, '3-5-7'.

That was all. I didn't recognise the voice. It has an accent I couldn't place. Was the voice non-human? I cannot say?I entered into sleep state and knew no more.

Until, what must have been several hours later, I knew I was under 'attack' on another vibration. I began calling out at the top of my voice on that vibration. Calling for the assistance of my late Father to help me. I was aware of lying in bed but on another vibration. I shouted and shouted. Then I woke up.

As I began waking I heard an non-human 'hissing' sound from the right hand side of the room.I entered back into sleep state. An hour or so later. Perhaps. I find myself being 'haunted' by a ghost dog! It is jumping up onto my bed.

Each time I push it off ... moments later it is jumping back up again. I wake Kristine. She becomes aware of the ghost dog as it runs in an anticlockwise direction around our bed and jumps back onto the bed at my pillow position. We both can see the brown/black apparition form of the dog.Next morning. This morning.

I mention the 'haunting' to Kristine. She is not aware of it at all. Therefore I come to the conclusion the haunting took place on another vibration. A vibration where our bedroom was identical to the one on this vibration.

As for the strange '3-5-7' message. The voice was clear in my consciousness. I can only think that 3-5-7 means the 3rd May 2007 as we've passed 5th March 2007 now.Is it significant? I will have to wait and see.

Obama promises new dawn for America and the world after he is voted first black U.S. president in landslide victory

Barack Obama made history early today by becoming America’s first black president.

'It's been a long time coming, but tonight... change has come to America,' the president-elect told jubilant supporters in Chicago. The triumphant 47-year-old son of a black Kenyan father and a white mother from Kansas spoke after romping to a landslide victory over crushed Republican candidate John McCain. It was the crowning moment of a staggering rise from being a virtually unknown first-time US senator two years ago to become the most powerful man in the world.

By 4.30am, Obama had collected 333 electoral votes to Mr McCain's 155.

The result comes as a historic landmark in America’s struggle from the shackles of slavery to the segregation of the Deep South in the 1960s to finally achieving civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘dream’ with Americans of all colours and creeds voting a black man into the White House.

An Invitation to Comfort

Your home is your oasis. Through your efforts, your house or apartment can become both a private sanctuary and a welcoming, serene, and healthy place to live in and visit. An organized and comfortable home can have a calming effect on you, your family, and guests, as well as be your personal escape from the rest of the world. Creating this nurturing space isn’t difficult. Even a household that includes young children or multiple animals can be a serene and peaceful place. In just a few minutes, you can make a number of changes that can turn your home into a safe and comfortable haven that you can be proud to share with your loved ones and friends.

One way to fill your house or apartment with calming energy is to imbue it with a peaceful ambiance that nurtures all five senses. Soft lighting and soothing colors like blue, purple, and green can make a space feel warm and inviting, while pleasant and calming aromas such as lavender and vanilla can positively affect moods. Peaceful sounds, such as running water in a fountain or gentle chimes can uplift and clear the space, while clearing clutter and making the most of open space can ease internal turmoil and dispel negative feelings. The physical objects in your home as well as your home itself can retain the energy of previous owners and the object’s creator. You can give your household’s energy a lift by visualizing white light surrounding our home, symbolically sweeping out residual energy, or smudging your home with cleansing sage.

The changes you make to your home can be as unique as you are and may involve utilization of space, lighting, new furniture, decorating, feng shui, or ritual. But what you do is not as important as being clear in your intention to set up your household as a soothing and refreshing place to be. Make your home a place of comfort, and you will feel nurtured and cared for whenever you are there.

UFOs, Do they Smell? The Sulphur Enigma of Paranormal Visitation

Source: Conspiracy Archive

Witnesses of paranormal activities today and in centuries past have consistently encountered a common trait. Indeed, since the prophets of the bible spoke of the judgement of the Lord with fire and brimstone, has sulphur smells been associated with paranormal manifestations.

As Pliny has said: “Lightning and thunder are attended with a strong smell of sulphur, and the light produced by them is of a sulphurous complexion.”

The New Age Movement and Service to The Plan

The New World Order as envisioned by the Elite is hardly a recent undertaking. Theirs is a philosophy rooted in ancient occult traditions. Success is near, and the infiltration of society by New Age occultism is the reason for this success. The New World Order has never been solely about world government, rather, from the beginning its proponents have been privy to secret doctrines and it is a spiritual plan more than anything.

If one failed to take into account the occult nature of the New World Order, they would be remiss. The UN and the New Age have been bed-fellows since the beginning. America's secret destiny is the product of Rosicrucian and Freemason forefathers. The New Atlantis as proposed in Francis Bacon's work is almost at hand. The Ancient Mysteries are being studied for illumination and enlightenment by the New World Order's elite. Not to mention the New Age gurus — dutifully recruiting on behalf of the Secret Brotherhood.

In 1980, Marylin Ferguson compiled and espoused a synthesis involving the theories of transformation and the secret plan of the Aquarian Age. In her studies of the scientific advancements of this age involving entropy and syntropy, holism, holographs, paradigm shifts, the uncertainty principle and evolution, she discovered that, "for the first time an American renaissance is taking place in all disciplines, breaking the boundaries between them, transforming them at their farthest reaches—where they all converge."

Speaking of the networks and web of influence, Ferguson proclaimed: "There are legions of conspirators... in corporations, universities, hospitals, on the faculties of public schools, in factories, in doctors' offices, in state and federal agencies, on city councils and the White House staff, in state organizations, in virtually all arenas of policy making in the country [U.S.]...[including] at the cabinet level of the United States Government." (ibid. p.24) However, other New Age proponents said that this is innacurate, in that she had understated the influence of the New Age worldwide, especially in the UN and the EEC.

It is no coincidence that America has become the center of New Age and New World Order conspiracies. The Theosophical and Rosicrucian traditions hold that every nation has a spiritual destiny guided by a hierarchy of beings using all ethical (or un-ethical) means of manifesting the "divine plan" through the will of the nation's leaders.

Tarot Card of the Day

The Hierophant (or Pope, High Priest) is numbered five and is concerned with matters of faith, religion, belief and morality. This is the wise teacher, full of esoteric and occult knowledge. He can help us to understand the mysteries around and within us.

The Hierophant is a holy man, but is in essence both male and female. He has a healthy connection with life and living - someone who has experienced life in full and now has the experience and wisdom needed in order to teach others.

He is usually seen holding his index and middle finger extended, as though pointing at something. This symbolism is important, because the human Will is considered to be directed by these two fingers. The Hierophant is an archetype which represents the culmination of human development. His abilities reside like seeds within every one of us. We all have the ability to travel where he has already explored. He holds the keys to transformation.

McCain tries to turn must-win states; Obama stays on offense

As they enter their final day of campaigning before Election Day, Sen. John McCain is trying to swing undecided voters in key battleground states, while Sen. Barack Obama is staying on the offensive by campaigning in territory that is usually safely Republican. In addition, both campaigns are ratcheting up their get-out-the-vote efforts, as election officials predict record turnouts -- and long lines -- on Tuesday.McCain on Monday hopes he can shift enough voters in a handful of critical states to give him enough votes to pull a come-from-behind victory. He has an uphill climb. There are few undecided voters left, and McCain will have to sway most of them for him to overcome Obama's lead. The latest national CNN poll of polls has Obama ahead of McCain 51 percent to 44 percent, with 5 percent undecided .... (CNN)

Heimdall

In Norse mythology, the god Heimdall stood guard over Asgard, the home of the gods. He lived near Bifrost, the rainbow bridge that connected Asgard to the world of humans and from there kept watch for the approach of the giants, who were the enemies of the gods. Heimdall had incredibly sharp senses that allowed him to see great distances even at night and to hear sounds as soft as wool growing on sheep or grass growing. Furthermore, he needed little sleep.

According to legend, Heimdall would one day call the other gods to Ragnarok, the final battle that would result in the destruction of gods and humans. When the giants drew near to Asgard, Heimdall would summon the gods by blowing his horn, Gjallarhorn, which could be heard all over creation. During the battle, Heimdall would kill the evil trickster god Loki and then meet his own death .

Sometimes called Rig (meaning king), Heimdall was considered the father of all people on earth. According to legend, he traveled around the earth and stayed three nights with married couples from different social classes. First, he visited some serfs, then some peasants, and finally a noble couple. Nine months after each visit, a child was born to each couple. The first was an ugly but strong boy named Thrall, who became the ancestor of all serfs. The second, Karl, was skilled at farmwork and became the ancestor of all peasants. Jarl, the last of the children, was intelligent and quick to learn the skills of hunting and combat. He became the ancestor of all warriors and nobles. The words thrall, karl, and jarl mean serf, farmer, and nobleman in the Norse language.

When you look at what's happening today - extraordinary.

Exposing the real story behind global events, which shape the future of human existence and the world we leave our children. The veil lifts on an astonishing web of interconnected manipulation to reveal that the same few people, secret societies and organizations control the daily direction of our lives, & how the same people on apparently different sides of politics are actually connected to the same elite organizations. These organizations have the same proven agenda of a world government, a world central bank, a world army, a world currency, and some say a micro-chipped population. "OPPO-SAMES" These apparent opposites in politics are there to persuade us that we are not living in a prison, that we have a choice. Yet these persons are not opposites at all but are part of a one-party state. The last two US Presidents were apparently opposites and on different sides - Bill Clinton and George Bush - yet they were both heavily involved within the same elite organizations.

Frozen mice cloned 16yrs after death

Source: The Sun

Extinct Ice Age creatures such as woolly mammoths could be recreated after scientists cloned mice from frozen cells.

A team of researchers produced the clones from DNA taken from mice that had been dead for 16 years and preserved at minus 20°C. The breakthrough in Japan raises hopes of “resurrecting” bigger species such as mammoths, whose remains are sometimes found deep-frozen. Until now, Dolly the Sheep-style cloning has been achieved only by using live donor cells.

Cloning from thawed-out frozen cells was thought almost impossible because of damage caused by ice crystals. But Japanese scientists thawed out the dead mice and collected nuclei from cells in their brain tissue. These were injected into empty eggs, whose own DNA had been removed, to generate cloned embryos. Stem cells taken from the embryos were then used in a second round of cloning. And this genetic material was used to produce embryos that grew into the four mouse clones.

A further nine mouse clones were created by mixing the cells of different embryos. Dr Teruhiko Wakayama, from the Centre for Developmental Biology in Kobe, Japan, said: “We have demonstrated that healthy cloned mice can be obtained by nuclear transfer — using cells from frozen bodies.”

Plunging Into The Deep

Life can take us on a roller coaster ride full of highs and lows and twists and turns. Even for those of us who enjoy unexpected thrills, it’s frightening to suddenly find ourselves heading for a deep plunge. Yet, it happens to all of us. At these moments, it is important to remember that you are not alone in your experiences. No matter how brave, strong, or levelheaded we are, sometimes, we all get scared. Our fears may revolve around our physical safety, particularly if we are not feeling well, living under difficult circumstances, or doing work that exposes us to hazardous conditions. Or, we may be experiencing financial woes that are causing us to be fearful about making ends meet. We may also fear the loss of a loved one who is sick, or we may be scared of never finding someone special to spend our life with. We may be scared to start at a new school, begin a different job, move to a new town, or meet new people. Whatever our fears are, they are valid, and we do not need to feel ashamed or embarrassed that we are, at times, afraid. It may be comforting to know that everyone gets scared, and it is perfectly OK. Sometimes just acknowledging our fears is enough to make us feel better. And while it sometimes takes a lot more to ease our mind, we can console ourselves with the knowledge that life can be scary at times. Giving ourselves permission to be scared lets us move through our fears so we can let it go. It also makes it alright to share our fears with others. Sharing our apprehensions with other people can make our fears less overwhelming because we are not letting them grow inside of us as pent up emotions. Sharing our fears also can lighten our burden because we are not carrying our worries all by ourselves. Remember that you are not alone.

Have the courage to bet on your ideas.
Take some calculated risks and act on your dreams.
There is no permanent security on this earth, there is only opportunity.

Real-Life Mind Control Assassins?

Source: nolanchart.com

Is it possible to create the perfect assassins through the use of mind control programming? Have there already been Black Ops CIA mind control projects developed to create real-life Manchurian Candidates?

According to now declassified CIA documents, available through the Freedom of Information Act, a series of top-secret Black Ops experiments were conducted on unsuspecting subjects with the intention of trying to make them perform operations against their will. Could it be that Lee Harvey Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, Mark David Chapman, and would-be assassin John Hinckey were all victims of such mind-control programming? Interesting to note that both Hinckley and Chapman were obsessed with J.D. Sallinger's novel "Catcher in the Rye". Even more interesting is that both men were rumored to have copies of this book in their possession shortly after the assassination attempts, and had both at one time allegedly sought psychological counseling from the same psychiatrist.

The scenario of the (sic) "crazy person who hears voices in his head" has been the staple of many jokes throughout the years, but according to the now-declassified documents, some of these so-called crazy people are not mentally ill at all but have been the victims of surreptitious mind-control manipulation via a process nicknamed "Mental Radio"?

The basic premise behind this technique is assailing the target with ELF, VLF. and SHF microwave frequencies that stimulate the audio nerves of the human nervous system. The electronically generated voices the person hears in his or her head can either be heard as a interior voice, or as an external voice in the person's environment: voice or voices coming from the walls, ceilings, and so on. And from the information in the declassified documents, such mind control experiments have been going on as far back as the late 1930s.

The Kabbalistic Experience of "Drawing the Bow."

In this experience, the "Arrow," a symbol of one's focused and truly aimed personal awareness is powerfully released from the lower four spheres of the "Tree of Life," and sent shooting straight up along the path of the middle pillar toward Tiphareth and beyond.

A clearer way to describe this to students of the Tree of Life diagram, might be to say that it is the tension between the complimentary spheres of Netzach and Hod, (Themselves under the influences of the higher spheres of the Tree, and over the influences of the lower spheres of the Tree), which make up the "Bow," itself and it is these two spheres which hold the ends of the Bow's "String."

Now depending upon the interactions between the self of the human being, and the activity of these two spheres in connection with the spheres of Yesod, and Malkuth Below and of the spheres above, especially via the sphere of Tiphareth, the Bow String may either remain relatively tightly drawn or pulled down, at its middle point, to the sphere of Malkuth from the time of birth in a human being's incarnation, or it may get pulled super taught and be released from Malkuth sending the Arrow of self awareness up to the sphere of Tiphareth and beyond, along the path of the middle pillar, on a one way journey of "Spiritual Awakening."

That is a very simple way of looking at the idea, but in addition to the one clear shot of the Arrow released by the Bow, there is a lot of tentative stretching of the Bow and of the Bow Spring, before getting everything right.

Indeed a lifetime of human experience may be described as a series of fluctuations of more or less tension, and more or less movement both up and down, and/or side to side, of the self upon the Bow String.

The Bow even occasionally partially releases or has a "Test Release," in an incomplete way, with incomplete tension, sending the un-awakened self on a roller coaster ride up into more expanded consciousness, where it gets a glimpse of what may some day come to pass and what may someday more permanently be the perspective of the self's consciousness, only to then find itself falling back down into a state of more contracted awareness.

Like walking before we can run, it seems we also need to first "Hop," often a great many times, using the only partially taught Bow String, carrying the only partially aimed, and partially released from Malkuth, Arrow of self consciousness, only part of the way up toward the ultimate targets, before we get to the really perfect single shot from which there can be no possibility of complete back sliding or completely falling back down, for that expanding self which has been prepared for the journey of a "True Return," going ever higher up the Tree of Life.

It might also be correct to say, that getting the perfect shot may take the practice shots of many incarnations or personal lifetimes.

As a young self experiences the everyday physical world of Malkuth, it is usually the many alluring illusions and tempting emotional, mental, and physical possibilities of Malkuth, and the OUTWARD appearing physical world, toward which the self consciousness nearly totally looks and to which it is clearly most attracted.

In theory, it is only after a nearly endless cycle of having experienced the ravages and disappointments of everyday living, that the self begins to turn fatefully INWARD, toward the "Divine Light," within the "True Self," for the ultimate "Answers to Life. "

It may often take one last ultimately desperate and clinging grasp at the unreachable and unsustainable "Treasures," of Malkuth to completely pull the Bow String down perfectly taught, nearly to breaking, at which point the conscious self now thoroughly finished with its former empty fascination of looking for something permanent pleasing amongst the fading and changing shadows of the everyday world, honed and tempered for its long journey by inner and outer guides and experiences, finally steps perfectly into place upon the Bow String.

Now the combination of the perfectly taught String, and the perfectly aimed Arrow of the spiritually developing self, snaps free of the last vestiges of attachment to the formerly "Pleasingly Dull," state of earthly awareness, and the perfectly balanced pull of the Bow String, now perfectly releases the perfectly aimed Arrow in a moment of unity between the lower and higher "Wills," of the individual.

The Netzach and Hod spheres of the tree remaining ever in place and the self in motion upward now very truly balanced exactly mid-way between their energies, the Arrow cannot help but reach its first goal in Tiphareth. We might add that the Arrow contains all the inner momentum it will need for completing the continued and ultimate journey through Tiphareth, onward up the middle pillar, across the abyss in the true realization and gnosis of the sphere of Daath passing through this sphere of "Secret Wisdom," ultimately reuniting it with its source, in and beyond the sphere marked out on our models of the Tree as Kether.

Woe unto he, or she, and unto all mankind, if the Arrow, nearly perfectly directed, and/or nearly perfectly released, should lodge somewhere off center in the tree, unable to simple fall back down to "Earth," in Malkuth.

Tonight's Focus

Magick Journal for Monday 3rd November 2008
Using Aquarian Runes & Merlin Tarot
The Focus tonight is 'Madeleine McCann'

Firstly, Aquarian Runes picked randomly:-

FEOH - Prosperity, wealth, the rune of cattle & currency. A rune of 'commodity'. It's "negative aspect" is a magpie (see below).

SIGEL - Positive rune indicating truimph of light over darkness. Victory/truimph. A major obstacle faced and the process of overcoming it.

YR - Rune of deception/deceit/a journey on 'thin ice'. All is not what it seems - the rune outlines this deceit. A rune under the rulership of the moon. Treachery. Hidden pathways. Subterfuge. Two wolves fight it out for 'supremacy'. Two faces to the situation linked around the focus.

The insight continues with The Merlin Tarot. Five randomly chosen images placed in the form of the celtic cross:-

Central card - Four of Birds (Truce)
Top card - High Priestess
Bottom Card - The Moon
Left Card - King of Beasts
Right Card - Six of Beasts (Benefit)

Some type of truce is central to this spread. Four of Birds indicates communications ... linked to the Six of Beasts ... suggests communications which are of a benefit to two parties (perhaps indicated by The High Priestess on one side and the King of Beasts on the other).

The symbolism on the High Priestess implies that she is 'the magpie' which took 'the shiny jewel' from 'the nest'. Her identity is known to parties involved. Symbolism also suggests she is a powerful woman respected in places of 'ceremony'. Seems a suggestion of a Scottish Link/Scottish heritage (Maggie? Margaret?) ... when the ceremonial 'mask' slips she is the magpie? As this personality she is impatient. She was very impatient and forced the issue/changed proceedings by taking matters into her own hands?

The King of Beasts symbolises a respected healer/doctor/research scientist ... with all the knowledge of the ability of 'splicing four spheres/eggs to make one product?' This is suggested by the symbolism in the image of this card. He wears the Stag's horns ... and is most likely being financed by Celtic business man highlighted in previous insights? The atmosphere around him is cold. Someone has bitten off more than they can chew perhaps? Out of their depth.

Six of Beasts - beneficial to both sides for the influence of 'the moon' in the situation. Deceit and treachery with the hound facing the wolf across 'the pond' (expanse of water close by) ... hostilities ...

In the Moon image ... a higher power/person of influence looks down on the situation (symbolically) ... has the overview on the manuscripts and knows the locality of 'the tower of strength' ... current trends suggest that there is some information being released/revealed that indicates a path that leads to the tower of strength. However, be wary, it leads to another location entirely (symbolised by the oak tree). Another false trail perhaps to buy more time? There is the sense of a circle going round and round here ... deceit/treachery continuing to help both sides. Time seems to necessary to forge an agreement/alliance. Stalemate otherwise. Something needs to be perfected?

Magnetic Portals Connect Sun and Earth

During the time it takes you to read this article, something will happen high overhead that until recently many scientists didn't believe in.
A magnetic portal will open, linking Earth to the sun 93 million miles away. Tons of high-energy particles may flow through the opening before it closes again, around the time you reach the end of the page. "It's called a flux transfer event or 'FTE,'" says space physicist David Sibeck of the Goddard Space Flight Center. "Ten years ago I was pretty sure they didn't exist, but now the evidence is incontrovertible."

Indeed, today Sibeck is telling an international assembly of space physicists at the 2008 Plasma Workshop in Huntsville, Alabama, that FTEs are not just common, but possibly twice as common as anyone had ever imagined.
Researchers have long known that the Earth and sun must be connected. Earth's magnetosphere (the magnetic bubble that surrounds our planet) is filled with particles from the sun that arrive via the solar wind and penetrate the planet's magnetic defenses. They enter by following magnetic field lines that can be traced from terra firma all the way back to the sun's atmosphere. (Science.NASA.gov)

Magpie: Symbolism

Related to the crow the magpie is an intelligent and adaptable bird. Ancient folklore associated with the magpie suggests that when two or more fly into ones life good fortune is coming soon. Since magpies are opportunists and seldom miss a chance to get something for nothing those with this medicine should pay attention to subtle omens that appear in their life then act accordingly so opportunities are not missed. The magpie asks us to wake up and be conscious in every area of our life.

Magpies are curious and have a reputation for stealing anything that they can carry away. They use whatever they find and teach us how to be resourceful. Magpie medicine people have the ability to succeed in life. Those with this totem are usually eclectic and able to draw on a variety of resources to assist them in their pursuits. Being able to adapt to different situations in a spontaneous way is one of the magpies strongest attributes. Those with this totem often find that their interests are varied which make master ship of any one thing difficult although not impossible.

Magpies are extremely vocal especially in groups. They help those with this medicine learn how to use their voice to attract attention, attain desired goals as well as acquire respect from others. This applies only if this medicine is developed sufficiently. Otherwise the voice and its expression may need improvement for positive results to be obtained. Proper communication is one of the lessons that needs to be learned by magpie medicine people .

Although many in the Norse tradition associate the Magpie with Skadi, because of the similarity of the name, I associate the Magpie with Loki's daughter Hel. Hel is described as having a face that is 'half blue-black and half flesh (or white) coloured' - like the Magpie's colouring. She rules the lowest of the Nine Worlds, at the base of Yggdrasil, as mistress of the chthonic mysteries. Like Asgardhr, Helheim (Hel's home) cannot be reached directly from Midgardhr - one must "ride over a bridge", or travel between worlds with the aid of one´s fylgia (usually a totem or sacred animal or Soul Companion and Guide). The bridge to Helheim crosses the river Gjoll and its guarded by the giant Maiden Modgudh. As Bifrost is fiery and narrow, the bridge to Helheim is icy and wide.

Helheim is also called Niflhel, meaning Misty Hel or Dark Hel, which refers to the Goddess´ primary aspect of concealment. Hel borders very closely on the world Nifheimr; it is located down and to the North, and it is the implied location of the venom-filled halls, on Na Strand, and home of the dragon Niddhogg, embodiment of the concealed powers of destruction/transformation. Hel is the hidden root to which all things sink, as all the waters wend their way to Hvergelmir, and from which all things rise again.

Although the realm of Hel is described as horrible in parts - the lifeless, lightless, joyless dwelling of the dead. It is written elsewhere that Hel is brightly bedecked and hospitable.

She welcomes those who die of sickness, famine or old-age and even Balder resides there after his death. This dual nature can be seen in the figure of the goddess Hel herself: She is half a beautiful woman and half a corpse, her concealment both that of the womb and that of the tomb. Hel receives those souls who cannot struggle through to Valhalla, but in time, as her name Mother Holle suggests, she bears them forth again.

All of this tells us that the Magpie can be a double-edged sword. It requires mastery of your magpie spirit to achieve things, unmastered it will be self-destructive. Gossip, or uncontrolled chatter, and an unreasoning attraction to shiny things - be it materialistic objects, people or an inability to concentrate - spells danger just as oratory, or controlled chatter, concentration and the quick opportunistic observation can be used to devastating effect.

Old English: Magpie = 'chattering female = Maggie
Cheyenne: Magpie = Mo'e'ha

Getting What We Want

Source: Daily OM

The best way to get what we want from life is to first know what we want. If we haven’t taken the time to really understand and identify what would truly make us happy, we won’t be able to ask for it from those around us or from the universe. We may not even be able to recognize it once it arrives. Once we are clear about what we want, we can communicate it to those around us. When we can be honest about who we are and what we want, there is no need to demand, be rude or aggressive, or manipulate others that are involved in helping us get what we want. Instead, we know that we are transmitting a signal on the right frequency to bring all that we desire into our experience. As the world evolves, humanity is learning to work from the heart. We may have been taught that the way to get what we want is to follow certain rules, play particular games, or even engage in acts that use less than our highest integrity. The only rules we need to apply are those of intention and connection. In terms of energy, we can see that it takes a lot of energy to keep up a false front or act in a way that is counter to our true nature, but much less energy is expended when we can just be and enjoy connections that energize us in return. Then our energy can be directed toward living the life we want right now. Society has certain expectations of behavior and the roles each of us should play, but as spiritual beings we are not bound by these superficial structures unless we choose to accept them. Instead, we can listen to our hearts and follow what we know to be true and meaningful for us. In doing so, we will find others who have chosen the same path. It can be easy to get caught up in following goals that appear to be what we want, but when we pursue the underlying value, we are certain to stay on our right path and continue to feed our soul.

Last-gasp Hamilton takes Formula 1 crown

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton became the youngest world champion in Formula One history by the skin of his teeth after a nail-biting Brazilian Grand Prix.

The 23-year-old Englishman's title rival Felipe Massa won the race in his Ferrari but Hamilton grabbed the fifth place he needed at the last corner.

Whatever we are waiting for - peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance - it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.

Image of the Day - What Do You See?

Old Woman/Young Woman - But What Do You See?

Like art , symbols can literally alter your brain chemistry. Whether you are made to feel elevated or depressed, happy, sad, angry, or any feeling in the emotional spectrum, by viewing the imagery your nervous system is affected, and your brain chemistry is altered, changing your mood, behavior, and state of mind. Yes, pictures and colors DO affect you both psychologically and biologically, and this is used every day in hospitals, prisons, restaurants, and many other facilities (Think green room, or placing newborns under blue light to remedy yellow jaundice).

In short, light affects you, because it is energy entering your body.

Insight - Looking Over The Fence

Sunday 2nd November 2008
Magick Journal

A quick insight using The Servants of the Light. Three images were chosen in the way accustomed to insights on ALITD.

The Giver of Spheres ... and the passage of the sphere/egg/genetics to the user within a moorland like environment. Research of some type undertaken in a desolate place suggested here. Created to order. One of the spheres passed to the user for experimentation it appears. The user dressed like the jester. Beside this image is that of the Nine of Weapons ... an image of prayers/hopes and dreams. One religious minded individual linked/known to the user appears to have been a worthy candidate for 'the donation'. The hanging swords of Damocles behind the character hints at the complex nature of the situation. The donation may well have been made with conditions. The monitoring of the results of the spherical experimentation. Controversial and illegal connections.

The third image is that of the User Of Spheres itself ... a rainbow hangs behind him and in the foreground sitting quietly one little girl (the product perhaps). At the rainbow's end is the pot of gold they say. The user is juggling the one sphere making it appear like many. It is just one of the spheres which the giver has dispersed. The product of the user's one sphere is still missing? ... the case creating deliberate stormy seas for a reason and a purpose. What of the other spheres which the giver had to give for further donations and further experimentation? The skillful way the user juggles the one sphere indicates a success in the process ... and the need for the product being exhibited here, there and everywhere. There is a great need for secrecy emphasised here ... as very significant eyes look on. The praying figure in the Nine of Weapons is caught fast in something much more than they would have anticipated at the start.

The Giver seems to be a doctor/research scientist in some 'significant' organisation. The User a middle man who could well be a doctor too. The family of the Nine of Weapons have a great sphere of influence. Hidden agendas of their own but an over-riding need to have children in any way that they could.....

Tarot Card of the Day

Although it has taken on a strictly romantic revision of meaning in some modern decks, traditionally the Lovers card of Tarot reflected the challenges of choosing a partner. At a crossroads, one cannot take both paths. The images on this card in different decks have varied more than most, because we have had so many ways of looking at sex and relationships across cultures and centuries.

Classically, the energy of this card reminded us of the real challenges posed by romantic relationships, with the protagonist often shown in the act of making an either-or choice. To partake of a higher ideal often requires sacrificing the lesser option. The path of pleasure eventually leads to distraction from spiritual growth. The gratification of the personality eventually gives way to a call from spirit as the soul matures.

Modern decks tend to portray the feeling of romantic love with this card, showing Adam and Eve at the gates of Eden when everything was still perfect. This interpretation portrays humanity before the Fall, and can be thought to imply a different sort of choice -- the choice of evolution over perfection, or the choice of personal growth through relationship -- instead of a fantasy where everything falls into place perfectly and is taken care of without effort.

Post #7000 - Quote For The Day

Suffering arises when we long for our experience to be something other than what it is.
Satisfaction arises when we savour the richness of our experience as it is.
Full acceptance of whatever is arising in this moment is pure and absolute freedom.

Man Utd 4-3 Hull

Manchester United survived a late rally by Hull to move up to third place in the Premier League.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring with a low strike before Daniel Cousin headed Hull level at the near post. Michael Carrick struck from 20 yards, Ronaldo headed in a corner and Nemanja Vidic volleyed home as United led 4-1. But Bernard Mendy lobbed Edwin van der Sar, and when Mendy was fouled by Rio Ferdinand, Geovanni converted the penalty to set up a grandstand finish.

Hull started the match two points ahead of their opponents and defending an unbeaten away record in the Premier League but Phil Brown's team were outclassed by their illustrious and expensively assembled opponents for most of the game.

Despite the late scare, United have really started to find their form after a quiet start to the season and have now won eight of their last nine fixtures while playing with increasing style and verve. (BBC Sport)

Disapproving Faces

It is not necessarily a pleasant experience, but there will be times in our lives when we come across people who do not like us. As we know, like attracts like, so usually when they don’t like us it is because they are not like us. Rather than taking it personally, we can let them be who they are, accepting that each of us is allowed to have different perspectives and opinions. When we give others that freedom, we claim it for ourselves as well, releasing ourselves from the need for their approval so we can devote our energy toward more rewarding pursuits.

While approval from others is a nice feeling, when we come to depend on it we may lose our way on our own path. There are those who will not like us no matter what we do, but that doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with us. Each of us has our own filters built from our experiences over time. They may see in us something that is merely a projection of their understanding, but we have no control over the interpretations of others. The best we can do is to hope that the role we play in the script of their lives is helpful to them, and follow our own inner guidance with integrity.

As we reap the benefits of walking our perfect paths, we grow to appreciate the feeling of fully being ourselves. The need to have everyone like us will be replaced by the exhilaration of discovering that we are attracting like-minded individuals into our lives—people who like us because they understand and appreciate the truth of who we are. We free ourselves from trying to twist into shapes that will fit the spaces provided by others’ limited understanding and gain a new sense of freedom, allowing us to expand into becoming exactly who we’re meant to be. And in doing what we know to be right for us, we show others that they can do it too. Co-creating our lives with the universe and its energy of pure potential, we transcend limitations and empower ourselves to shine our unique light, fully and freely. (Source: Daily OM)

Teotihuacan

Source: Wikipedia

Teotihuacan is an enormous archaeological site in the Basin of Mexico, containing some of the largest pyramidal structures built in the pre-Columbian Americas. Apart from the pyramidal structures, the archaeological site of Teotihuacan is also known for its large residential complexes, the so-called "street of the dead", and its colorful well-preserved murals.

Teotihuacan was, at its apogee in the first half of the 1st millennium CE, the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas. During its zenith it may have had more than 100,000 inhabitants placing it among the largest cities of the world in this period. The civilization and cultural complex associated with the site is also referred to as Teotihuacan or Teotihuacano. Although it is a subject of debate whether Teotihuacan was the center of an empire, its influence throughout Mesoamerica is well documented; evidence of Teotihuacano presence, if not outright political and economic control, can be seen at numerous sites in Veracruz and the Maya region. The ethnicity of the inhabitants of Teotihuacan is also a subject of debate and possible candidates are the Nahua, Otomi or Totonac ethnic groups. Often it has been suggested that Teotihuacan was in fact a multiethnic state.
