Storm lashes Sydney coast

A severe weather warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology is current for people from the NSW mid-north coast to the state's south coast

Sydney Morning Herald Headline, says:
A large storm off the coast south of Sydney is bringing destructive winds, heavy rains, damaging surf and snow to large parts of NSW, but has had less impact that previously expected. A severe weather warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology is current for people from the NSW mid-north coast to the state's south coast, including the Hunter, Sydney metropolitan, and Illawarra areas. However, the bureau has downgraded its earlier coastal forecasts for 125kmh winds to 90kmh, and the storm has remained far enough offshore to prevent any significant large-scale problems. The deep low pressure system well east of the Illawarra coast is expected to move southeast later this morning, with the edge of the cell effecting the state's coast. The worst conditions, with hurricane force winds, are still well out to sea.
