Telegraph 'breaking news' reads:
"Police in the US searching for a girl missing for a year have found her alive - locked beneath the stairs in a house belonging to an acquaintance of her parents. The girl, who has not been named, was very pale when she was discovered, and there had been no sign of her outside the house during the year. However, after a tip off that a business contact of her parents may have been involved, they raided his house in West Hartford and found the girl in a secret room underneath the stairs."
But there is NOTHING reported about the 'phone call' story --- how many people would read this breaking news and think it was Maddy they were reading about?? I know I did until I read the 12 months
