Waking Times: The history of Western philosophy reveals two main preoccupations. For many centuries, the theme was: What is Deeper Reality? What does it look like? What can learn from it?

Then, in the 19th century, another theme took over: How do human beings perceive reality? How do humans know what they know? What is the nature of the apparatus of human perception?
