Kate and Gerry McCann will meet with Home Secretary Theresa May amid speculation a new investigation could be opened into the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.
The Home Office confirmed Mrs May will meet with the couple to discuss how the search for their daughter, who has been missing for more than three years, is progressing. The couple requested to meet with the new Home Secretary as part of their push for a review of all the information in the hands of the British and Portugese authorities.Former Labour Home Secretary Alan Johnson last year ordered an internal review of evidence and an outline of how a new investigation into Madeleine's disappearance might work.

It is understood the report is almost complete, and could pave the way for a fresh probe into the case. (Daily Mail)

Cargo vessel spins out of control past space station

Russia will today seek to recover an unmanned space supply ship that was 'spinning uncontrollably' as it passed within two miles of six astronauts on board the International Space Station. The Progress 38 cargo vessel was supposed to dock with the ISS on Friday but technical glitches led to a rare rendezvous failure. Space station commander Alexander Skvortsov reported the freighter was 'spinning uncontrollably' after a failure of the autopilot 25 minutes before scheduled docking. Later, Vitaly Davydov, the head of the Russian space agency, denied that the cargo ship was out of control. 'The Progress ship and the ISS are in working order and reliable communication with them is being maintained,' he said. There were also denials from Russia and the United States that the six astronauts on board the ISS had been in danger. 'This is something unusual - I have not seen this happen before - but we are not concerned about the people on board the space station,' said Lynnette Madison, a spokeswoman for the Johnson Space Centre, Nasa's centre for human space flight. The Russians described the problem as a faulty radio link. A new effort at docking is expected today after adjustments were made in the freighter's orbit. (Daily Mail)

On June 23, 2010, investigative journalist Wayne Madsen had an exclusive (for subscribers only) report claiming that his sources in the federal government, specifically the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the US Army Corps of Engineers, told him that emergency planners are dealing with a prospective “dead zone” within a 200 mile radius from the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf. “A looming environmental and population displacement disaster is brewing in
the Gulf. The oil dispersant used by BP, Corexit 9500, is seen by FEMA sources
as mixing with evaporated water from the Gulf and absorbed by rain

The myths of the Greek God Hades were few, and his details rather uncontroversial. Alas, the myths of Hades the underworld, were many, and some claim the existence of up to five rivers surrounding Hades. In the Iliad, the river Styx is the only river of the underworld; in the Odyssey it is coupled with Cocytus and Pyriphlegethon, which flow into the chief river Acheron.

The river Lethe made the shades of the underworld forget their former lives. But the river Styx was always the best known, and the most sacred. To the Gods, there was no oath more sacred than to swear by the river Styx. Some said the river was so foul that to drink of it brought instant death. Some said it bubbled with fire.

This river Styx served as a crossroads where the world of the living met the world of the dead, and the world of the mortal met the world of the immortal.Greek Mythology Gods, mortals, and great heroes and villains made their way across the river Styx. Clear Light Mind

In Tibetan Buddhism, often the so-called 'clear-light mind' is mentioned. This is the most subtle level of mind, which we are normally not even aware of. It appears to the very advanced meditator and during the death process, but in this case, also only advanced meditators will be able to notice it. It is a non-conceptual, 'primordial' state of mind.

Clear light is a state of mind which becomes fully manifest only as a consequence of certain sequences or stages of dissolution, where the mind becomes devoid of certain types of obscurations, which are again metaphorically described in terms of sun-like, moonlike and darkness. These refer to the earlier three stages of dissolution which are technically called, including the clear light stage, the four empties. At the final stage of dissolution the mind is totally free of all these factors of obscuration. Therefore it is called clear light. Sort of a light. It is also possible to understand the usage of the term clear light in terms of the nature of mind itself. Mind or consciousness is a phenomena which lacks any obstructive quality. The Ultimate Authority

To a certain degree, we rely on other people’s accounts of reality to inform us of the nature of the universe. For example, we can’t all be molecular physicists, but we can benefit from taking their findings to heart. In the same way, we often look to teachers, various leaders, and gurus to tell us about the path to enlightenment and the nature of the realm of spirit. While this input from experts is undeniably valuable, our own sense of the truth is ultimately the most important piece in processing the information we take in from external sources. In the end, we are the authorities in our own lives, and we have the final say on whether something generally held as true is true for us. We need only take a brief look at history to remember that the religious, scientific, and political establishments that ruled the day were all wrong about something at some point in time. This is the beauty of learning, experiencing, and evolving. While we sometimes wish we could just let someone else decide for us what is real and true, this is clearly not a viable option. The good news in all this is that we can confidently devote ourselves to making up our own minds about reality, taking everything that is handed to us as truth with a grain of salt. This does not mean that we discount the information we receive from outside sources. It simply means that we are vigilant enough to question it before we decide whether or not we agree with it. All the information we receive is useful in the process of helping us make up our own minds. As we allow ourselves to sit with the things we learn, measuring them alongside our own inner sense of the truth and our own experiences, we find that making up our minds is a joyful process of integration that grows us into stronger, smarter, more engaged human beings.

The Ego (the human self)

In the 26th Aethyr, DES, you will confront the limitations of the human mind. The human mind is a manifestation of your spiritual mind in time, space, and form. The misconception of course is that the human mind is in control. You see! In physical reality the spiritual mind takes a seemingly back seat to the ego, because it recognizes the fact that without the ego to protect you from harm, there would be no existence in the physical plane. However beyond the scope of coping with the moment, the ego is very ill-equipped to handle your destiny or your long term goals. It is here in DES that this lesson is presented to you.

The being confronted in DES will be your own ego. If you see an Angel or other being in DES, know it to be an aspect of your own human mind come to present you with the cold truth about who's really in control. Below DES the ego appears to have a supreme control over things, even while you are engaged in various adventures.. In DES you find out that without your divine mind, there would be no human mind or self for that matter. Here, the ego is not supreme, nor is it independent. Although worshiped by many, the ego is a creator of circumstantial events rather than a creator of events. Children come into the world without a sense of ego. This very fact gives children their innocence and purity. The sense of ego must be acquired and developed in them as they grow in order to function properly in society.

In DES you learn to strip away much of that ego (the excess) so that more of the divine mind can come through. The divine mind then begins to retake the helm of your life, while your ego looks after your immediate physical safety, as it was meant to be all along. Without your ego properly put in its place, you will not be able to get the benefit of the lessons contained in the Aethyrs above DES, for this reason this Aethyr is an important one. 'I don't know what BP is waiting for; they are wasting their time,' said one, the former Soviet minister of nuclear energy Viktor Mikhailov.'Only about ten kilotons of nuclear explosion capacity and the problem is solved. I see no other solution for sealing leaks like the one in the Gulf of Mexico. Otherwise BP are just torturing the people and themselves.' The Hazard Of Winter

It's not often I miss adding posts to A Light In The Darkness. Even Kristine was amazed when I didn't turn on the laptop last night. But, considering how ill I'd been feeling all day, it was no surprise. I'm not feeling much better now ... but with two clients arriving in a couple of hours I need to perk myself up and somehow undertake sittings for them. Yesterday that would have been impossible. With it being winter here in the ACT, it was no surprise I would catch a bad cold/flu sometime. Yesterday I felt icy cold all day and miserable with it ... today I feel the opposite. I'm too hot! It will pass ... hopefully before my first client of the day knocks on the door ...!

Beyond the Physical

We are all beings of light. Put another way, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. As children, most of us know this, but other human beings who have forgotten what they really are and who cannot help us to know ourselves train us to forget. As a result, we are led to believe that magic is not real, that our invisible playmates do not really exist, and that we are limited beings with only one earthly life to live. There is enormous pressure to conform to this concept of ourselves and so we lose touch with our full potential, forgetting that we are beings of light. At this time, many of us are reawakening to the truth of who we are, because we are living amidst such large-scale changes in the world. We need to access this light in order to not only survive but thrive as we shift into a new order of consciousness. As the changes around us proceed in rapid progression, we will want to be able to trust our own ability to sense what is happening and how we can best respond. We are no longer living in a predictable world in which we can trust external authority figures and prior ideas about reality to guide us. We need to be able to access the information that will help us navigate these uncertain waters, and the ultimate authority resides in our awareness of ourselves as beings of light. It is through our connection to this light that we know things beyond what the visible world can tell us, and we see things beyond what the physical world reveals. In order to access this wisdom, we can simply allow ourselves to remember that we are not limited, as we have been taught. In fact, we are filled with divine grace and power that is ours for the asking. A daily practice of tuning into this vast potential, conversing with it, and offering ourselves up to it opens the door through which we can reclaim our true identity, taking ownership of the calling that the time has come to create bliss on earth. A Kundalini Insight

The coiled and dormant 'feminine' energy, refers to the vast potential of psychic energy contained within us all. It is normally symbolized as a serpent coiled into three and a half circles, with its tail in its mouth, and spiraling around the central axis (sacrum or sacred bone) at the base of the spine. The awakening of this serpent and the manifestation of its powers is a primary aim of the practice of Kundalini Yoga. The image of coiling, like a spring, conveys the sense of untapped potential energy that will spring into action soon. For now we remember in small doses.

Kundalini can be described as a great reservoir of creative energy at the base of the spine. It's not useful to sit with our consciousness fixed in our head and think of kundalini as a foreign force running up and down our spine. The concept of kundalini can also be examined from a strictly psychological perspective. From this perspective kundalini can be thought of as a rich source of psychic or libidinous energy in our unconscious.

The Colour Green

Green is the colour of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.

Green has great healing power. It is the most restful colour for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance. Sometimes green denotes lack of experience; for example, a 'greenhorn' is a novice. In heraldry, green indicates growth and hope.

Green, as opposed to red, means safety; it is the colour of free passage in road traffic. Use green to indicate safety when advertising drugs and medical products. Green is directly related to nature, so you can use it to promote 'green' products. Dull, darker green is commonly associated with money, the financial world, banking, and Wall Street. Dark green is associated with ambition, greed, and jealousy. Yellow-green can indicate sickness, cowardice, discord, and jealousy. Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection. People with a Hyena totem have the ability to discern, to be clearer on what to do, whom to trust, what to believe, etc. They trust “what smells right” and what doesn’t. A Word on "Sodium Fluoride Poisoning"

For so long the dominant view was that fluoride was beneficial in our water supply, and that those who disagreed were wackos. The facts, however, simply don’t support that view. Every year brings more research showing the risks of ingesting fluoride.

The idea of putting fluoride into the water supply began when it was recognized that people living in a place with natural fluoride in the water had fewer cavities than those living elsewhere. That was true. However, the supply of fluoride found to add to the water supply was industrial waste – and not the same form of fluoride found in nature.

In November 2006, the American Dental Association sent a communiqué to its members letting them know that fluoride is too dangerous for infants under the age of one. In order to prevent tooth damage fluoridated water should not be added to food or formula for babies. As we understand it, this information was shared with the members of the ADA, but not disseminated elsewhere by them.

People are frequently pointing out how much better their children’s dental health is compared to their own, and ascribe that to fluoride in the water. But Europe outlawed fluoride in the water decades ago and their dental health has improved just as much as that in the US, and in a few cases more.

There are many places you’ll find stating that ‘fluoride has been shown to be safe.’ It is much harder to find a significant body of research to back up that claim. And the statement is nearly always “at the levels found in the water.” Completely ignored is that we now intake about 4 times as much fluoride as when they started adding it to the water through our food, toothpaste, water and drinks! At friendsofwater.com we just heard from 3 different people in 3 parts of the country each with well water with 5 times the ‘recommended’ level of fluoride. Do you think we’re building up the levels of fluoride in the water table with all this fluoride isolated in industry and added to the water?

According to a systematic review of fluoride supplement research in the November 2008 Journal of the American Dental Association, "There is weak and inconsistent evidence that the use of fluoride supplements prevents dental caries in primary teeth." The authors could find only one study, from China, showing any fluoride benefit to primary teeth and that study was probably biased with a high withdrawal rate. “Mild-to-moderate dental fluorosis is a significant side effect. Clinical Implications. The current recommendations for use of fluoride supplements during the first six years of life should be re-examined.”

There is an ever-growing body of research showing the risks of fluoride in the drinking water – even in very low dosages. Take a look at the results of 10 scientific research studies in 2007 gathered by the Fluoride Action Network. Risks of ingesting fluoride include Chronic Kidney Disease, Thyroid Disease, reduced brain development in children, reduced IQs, dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis, and increases in hip and other bone fractures.

The good news is that you can remove fluoride from your drinking and cooking water. Activated alumina (which is not aluminum and does not leach aluminum) is the best solution for a kitchen filter. Reverse Osmosis will remove nearly as much fluoride, but it does not leave healthy water with the trace elements the body needs.

The Weight of the Past

Holding onto regret is like dragging the weight of the past with us everywhere we go. It drains our energy, leaving less available for life in the present because we are constantly feeding an old issue. This attachment can cause illness the same way watering a dead plant creates decay. We know that something new and beautiful can grow in its place if we only prepare the soil and plant the right seeds. We also know that we create our lives from our thoughts, so dwelling on the past may actually recreate a situation in our lives where we are forced to make the choice again and again. We can choose to move on right now by applying what we have learned to the present and perhaps even sharing with others, transforming the energy into something that is constructive and creative for ourselves and others. Forgiveness is the soothing balm that can heal regret. In meditation, we can imagine discussing the issue with the self of our past and offering our forgiveness for the choice. In return, we can ask for our selves’ forgiveness for keeping them locked in that space of judgment for so long. We may also want to ask forgiveness from anyone else who may have been affected and perhaps offer our forgiveness. By replaying the event in our minds, we can choose a new ending using all that we now know. Imagine that you have actually gone back into the past and made this change, and then say goodbye to it. Release your former self with a hug and bring the forgiveness and love back with you to the present. Since we are usually our harshest critics, it is amazing how powerfully healing it can be to offer ourselves love. Keeping our minds and our energy fully in the present allows us to fuel our physical and emotional healing and well-being today. This action frees our energy to create the dreams we dream for the future. By taking responsibility and action in the present, we can release our hold on the past.

Monthly Review ... for June 2010

June 2010 will always be associated with the disallowed goal and the 'psychic octopus' which predicted England's downfall at the hands of the Germans. It seemed the referee and the linesman were the only ones in the stadium that hadn't seen just how clearly Frank Lampard had equalised for England.

June 2010 will also be remembered for the ongoing tragedy unfolding in the Gulf Of Mexico with the BP oil spill which has more than a hint of 'conspiracy' to the story.

On a more personal level it was during this month that a visit to the Gold Coast was undertaken to participate in the rather excellent Lisa William's Weekend Workshop. Blackpool FC no longer have to pinch themselves after seeing themselves included in the fixture lists ... on a personal level it is a dream come true. And finally ... it is the time of the year once more for Crop Circles. Intricate and mysterious ... they are appearing once more in the UK.
