Favourite's Collection #110

Snakebirds are generally shy, nervous water birds that are easily disturbed by sudden movements, or if you get to close to their roosting spot. Generally, because they have no oil on their feathers, they spend plenty of time drying their magnificent wings.

I've been very fortunate to have accumulated hundreds of Snakebird pictures at various locations around Canberra and in New South Wales. This particular image was taken at Lake Tuggeranong Shoreline.
